Amazing!! Bobby sounded better than ever, Bill and Mickey are having the time of their lives, the "new kids" play like they have been together forever! Oteil is amazing, Jeff's keys are so tasty on both the B3 and piano. John is not Jerry, he doesn't try to be Jerry! He is John Mayer and he is incredible!! I loved Jerry, I love John. What a band!!
We are so lucky as Dead Heads to still have the concerts continue, this summer tour 2019 will be epic I’m sure , John Mayer is my favorite guitarist because he can play anything and has amazing tone and technique. He said playing with the Dead is like a musical jungle Jim....I love the Grateful Dead, but I also Love Dead and Company so much. New and incredible music coming every show from these wonderful musicians....🙏🙏🙏🌹☯️❤️
I'm here right now at the Gorge in Washington, I'm working the event as a server and feel so grateful to be able to listen to them and see them !!!!! 💝
It's not new. It's reviving the old music, which is mighty fine. Now, how would the fans respond to an album of entirely new music? That might be really interesting.
John's playing and tone might be the best I've heard on the dozens of videos I've watched over the past few years. Just sublime. Use that McCarty more Johnboy!
I have been waiting my entire life to maybe find a better version of Morning Dew than the Cornell 77 show. This is right up there, at least. Dare I say?!
You gotta be kidding... just no. Not even in the top 10 Morning Dew's, probably not top 20. Morning Dew, from Cornell '77 may be their finest live SONG ever played... and you're gonna try to put this version on the same pedestal? I don't know how anyone could even try to make the comparison with a straight face. The Cornell '77 version is musical perfection. This... is... okay I guess? Even that's a reach.
Damn t hat was good! John Mayer and the bass player ( sorry, but who is he ? New to me) were getting into the 'Dead groove during the outro improv. Bob sounded brilliant. Good to see the drummers. There's Life in the Dead.
It doesn’t matter Bobby because u got it all together ! ❤️🌹☮️❤️🔥☄️💥😱😵💫😘🥰😍🪐👽👻🐰🐇🤣😅😥🥲just a little sadness just hit me because of Jerry not being there but John is the best at what he does !
I have to get my day started but this song on top of Brokedown Palace and Black Muddy River????? Can it get much more soul moving???? I just told my kids we have to go to VA to see them at festival for my **** birthday...BIG ONE, what a way to celebrate my time on this earth.Thank you Dead and Company...keep it going...I seem to not be able to get enough of this band.
I love this band ,at least we still have most of them ,thank u .my friend Bobby ,we told him he had to play some Jerry music to keep it alive with the Grateful Dead sound is so good ,they r the best together in awhile ,I love John Mayer but nothing quite like Jerry ,my soul belongs to him ❤️🥲🌹🌹🐰🐇✌️☮️🕊👽🪐🕳🥰😍😘
Your opinion is bad, and you should feel bad. Please stop comparing this crap to Cornell '77, or any other historical performance. This is barely "okay". Do you all have erasers stuffed in your ears?
I find that John Mayer guitar sound a bit jarring, and too dominant for the band. Did anyone ever think to drag out Jerrey's old guitar and leave it on a stool on stage, maybe JM would take the hint, just for a few of the quiet songs at least.
Seriously... I just can't understand how people like this? It's bad. Not good. Bad. Yet we have ritards in here comparing this to the Cornell '77 version... insanity. In no case would JM have taken the hint, his ego is way too big for that. He has to try to make everything "his", or put his spin on it. From lyrical timing and emphasis, to the guitar solo's. He needed dosed like ten years ago, now it's just way too late. I do not care for this assemblage of the band, at all.
Mayer just seems so unsure of himself in this band. He needs to step up and own it big and be a lead guitarist instead of a second rhythm guitarist. It also seems like the volume level on his leads is quieter than when Jerry played his solos, like they're more muted into the keyboards and not for nothing but bringing in former Allman Brothers alum Oteil Burbridge is a masterful stroke given that Phil no longer wishes to play with them, although who knows why as he's still touring on his own, making less money obviously. Maybe they should consider bringing in Derek Trucks as well and taking things to the next level.
