@@joshuaDstarksWhat you say doesn’t make any sense. I’m actually glad they didn’t rush the development of this game. Of course there might have been some other underlying problems, hence why it changed from developer studios twice. The alpha looked way to similar to the first game. The final looks polished and refreshing.

Dead island was pretty challenging an I really love games like this giving players different types of abilities and weapons making the game so realistic I can't wait for this one
My thoughts exactly. It stuns me how DL2 was even seen as somewhat a success. The story made less sense than a five year old trying to explain a dream they had, the glitches and bugs I experienced were awful (Goons disappearing, night and day getting mixed up, screens blacking out etc), some of the voice acting was awful (especially Spike), hardly any cool secrets like there were in the first game, the maps were boring and repetitive. I know Dead Island 2 will have a more goofy, poppy tone than DL, but I don’t really care, just so long as it’s fun, interesting, minimal glitches and has a somewhat decent story with interesting characters.
@@fatdabs7379 between that and the zombie model designs, this game is looking to be quite good. Hell, I can look past the goofiness of dialogue for that stuff.
Looks good, But I wonder: 1) Is it online only? 2) Will it be bombarded w/ DRM? 3) Will it have the live-service model? 4) Any pay to win mechanics? 5) Drop-in, drop out multiplayer? 6) Can I play the campaign solo? Remember when you didn't have to ask these type of questions during the 360/ps3 era? It's sad where the gaming industry has gone.
I hope the characters doesn’t have cheesy talking lines like back for blood can you imagine if they made a zombie game like this but made the atmosphere serious like dead space that would be one hell of a zombie game

Was debating if I should pre order re 4 remake or dead island 2 played re 4 demo it was ok the original will always be my win so I just pre ordered dead island 2 hope it won't be disappointed
Its nostalgia over hype as always. Just wait, soon we will have to hear all these fanboys opinions about how the game is a let down because its not just like the old dead island. Gamers are such a predictable lot, with very few actually having their own opinions, but just regurgitating the same opinions of their favorite nobody youtuber.
I think they actually made people play each of the survivors, except maybe carla. in dead island 1 the only correct character to play obviously was sam B.
A game pushed forward? If most games being delayed means there’s issues that need to be ironed out, doesn’t the opposite mean something positive? For me this looks like one of those games I didn’t know existed a month ago but might end up being one of my favorites.
sorry but you are wrong when you said at 4:30 "isn't open world" ?!?!?!?! bro what ! its a massive open world I have played the 1st dead island and it also was open world , because its an rpg zombie game , trust me if it was not open world I wouldn't even care ! I wont play it if its non-open world . I only play open world games cause I love to keep playing the game even after 100% progress .
It's semi open world. So the game has open zones. Similar to the first game. It's not fully open world where u can go everywhere is what he means. Dead island 1 wasn't open world. U had to unlock chapters to explore the open zones.

@@ayad953 Yep. View it as like Dying Light. Map(s) are fairly big but you can only enter certain districts after you unlock them with a mission and each are separated with a loading screen.
I just want to say that we have been waiting 9 fucking years for this game, it better be fucking worth the $70 price tag they'll put on it. I would be amazing to add cars to this game as i've not seen any drivable cars in this game. I'm just saying it would be well worth the value when this game has spent 9 freaking years in the dumbster.
He says it isn’t an open world game but when you actually go to buy the game on any store I use micro soft store for it the game is described as an open world game but even so the games world map looks so stupidly big and full off life it might aswell be an open world game it looks like it’s went for the same style off open world that dead rising 4 did and metro exodus multiple smaller maps with loads to do
Does anyone know if the game will have a main story? Because from what I saw years back of a video from the developers showing off the game, they said that there's no main story but instead the dead Island 2 world if full of side quests that constantly connects to each other like for example you need gas for a generator to run an electric fence so you go to the gas station but the guy running it won't allow you to get gas unless you find food for him so you go to a warehouse but a person inside won't let you get food unless you get their watch for them and so on.
i would imagine it probably has some sort of story. this is the third developer after all, the core of the game is likely entirely different than what it was years back
Looks like a game one should juat play amd not take seriously at all, as none of the videos show any real threat from the zombies. Zombies seem deaf, lathargic, and only half interested in killing the player if you get close enough, but still move to slow to be of any real danger.
@@ghostlegit announced in 2014 and completely restarted in 2019 for a 2023 release. If that doesn’t scream mess to you I’m sure you’ll swallow anything.

What what do they mean by this isn't an open world game? Dead Island one was an open-world game. I hope they did not make this linear cuz otherwise I'm getting a refund.
linear means it'll be better. and it's a mix, it's semi open world. so you get good detail in the environments, and you still get the freedom to explore around a bit.
Just another zombie fps with weapon customization. Like every zombie game in existence. At least others have survival, parkour, vehicles, base building, etc. This game is already outdated not including graphics
@@TheChillDeadpool no I found out already it's not going to be open world like GTA but it's going to be like the old Dead Island. It's going to be an open area and then once you unlock another area you got a fast travel there. I just wanted this because of the fact its Dead Island 2 and I thought this would never happen.
The whole card system seems out of place and a bad idea... The combat looks AWFUL. They spent so much time on the dismemberment system that they forgot to make the fighting realistic.... They've shown many times that you can press square to initiate a special move and the surrounding zombies just stand there and watch you. You can shoot an explosive tank, stand right next to it while it explodes doing not much damage to yourself but killing everything anywhere near the tank.
@@ghostlegit ay I dumped hundreds of hours of my life into the first game. Huge fan.....but I gotta call it like I see it. A card game style deck builder for a skill tree just seems like a swing and a miss. Tried to do something different but came off with this mash-up of a system that doesn't fit the genre. The fighting looks slow and clunky. With a swarm of zombies just standing there to watch you cut an arm off one of them. Then once you're done, they begin to attack again. One at a time like a bad Kung Fu movie. With the amount of time, money and resources already on hand (they had the whole first game and DLC to pull from) this should be mind blowing, not offering up bad takes by longtime fans
@@aigami7928 i think so as well. The dismemberment looks much better. Taking small chunks out of every body part looks so good. Hopefully it will still feel impactful. I do enjoy the weight of combat in DL. So far it looks great!
this game is not comparable to dying light 2. as they were originally made by the same creators, the series' both are contrasted a bit. you play dying light 2 for the parkour, and you play dead island 2 for the slower but more detailed responses. imho dying light 2 was great at what it did as well.
