This has to be one of the saddest video game trailers out there

the saddest part was seeing the mother go down after witnessing her own child become a zombie and maul her husband.. she knows there's danger around, but she never took her eyes off her daughter...

It’s really unsettling that you see that as soon as she hits the ground, the ‘zombie’ disease seemingly disappears and she looks human like she did before

The saddest part is that all of the main characters are canonically just ignoring this and sleeping in the next room over

this trailer made me cry so hard, it's even sadder when you find the two dead couple in their hotel room as an Easter egg lying together on the floor

I was shocked with how emotional I got despite not knowing any of the characters

Saddest part for me is 1:56 where the dad is left completely unarmed, helpless, surrounded by zombies, one of which used to be his daughter, he takes one last look at his wife before she is overwhelmed, and then he succumbs to the same fate, truly heartbreaking.

The saddest part is when the kid falls from the floor and hits the ground...then they zoom in and she has a little tear..OMG IM CRyyYyYYyyINnnNGg

I’m just gonna wipe my eyes and mention how much of a badass that dad is.

We should of gotten to play as that badass dad.

one of the parts that had me curious is that when she turned her eyes were gray and when she hit the ground her eyes were blue again, just like if she was still alive

I’m not gonna lie...this pulled my heart strings...the father had a hard choice to make a very hard one I couldn’t have made...he saved his daughter regardless of her being bitten...he did his hardest that he could to save her life and his wife’s...in the end they still died...but the father did what any father would have done...protect his family

If you think about it our character was just down the hall, we could've helped if we had been awake earlier

I think the trailer works a lot better in reverse. Really adds to the emotion when you know the outcome right at the start. Chronological looks so badass though.

Remember Ted B who killed his entire infected family and sat on a pool of blood sobbing uncontrollably? *_That pierced me right in the feels._*

For some reason, when i think if a real zombie apocalypse happens i would be the badass survivor, But then i go back nto the real world and realize i'm just a skinny whiteboy.

Hearing the girl scream, is so heartbreaking

This trailer made me cry because of it's tragic outcome. That could mean the girl dying or the actual game. To be honest, that analogy could go either way.

The dad was pretty cool, he took down so many zombies, I imagine myself getting bit while trying to make my first kill

If you notice, her skin actually reverts back to normal. Don't know if that means she's okay or if we know she died peacefully.

0:57-1:08 The tune of the string instrument used in this part is so emotional. Kinda reminds me of the combined sounds of the pipe and another wind instrument in the Hymn To The Sea by James Horner for the Titanic film.

Im pretty sure most of you guys will know this already , but the couple is actually in the game . You can see the room and the couple on the ground just when you begin the game if you go left instead of right . Awesome trailer , maybe the best video game trailer there is .

In the actual game there is a easter egg from the trailer: You can find the same room in the hotel and i think you can find the man or the womans body. And a picture from the whole family.

This is actually really sad though.

Can we please talk about how 8 years later this game still has hands down one of the best trailers. Its emotional and visually beautiful.

In 3 minutes, this trailer was able to craft a hundred times the amount of character development than the full-length 18 hour game. Stuart Aitken and the rest of Axis Studios deserve to be immortalized for this piece of gorgeous art.

I used to look at the game as a cool adventure, but watching this reminds me that all those zombies were just regular people who wanted to have a fun vacation.

man killing zombies is all fun and games when it is people you never met, but the concept of them being the ones who you held so close to your heart is absolutely soul crushing, how could you even contemplate harming what used to be your beloved daughter

Now why wasn't the actual game like this? Would've been so much better.

What is on the girl's eye? It looks like a scratch or a crack. You can see the zombie leave her after she dies, she's just a little girl.

I like the way people are complaing about zombie lores. 1) they arent real 2) theres a reason they are named infected and not zombies. They can make their own shit up depending on how they got infected

I love how you can find the two in the room next to the spawn in the prologue.

I wish they didnt kill off the dad and made him one of the main characters since this trailer shows him being bit but this coulda also have shown that some people were immune the wife however clearly gets killed but they never showed the guy get killed...and lets be honest there's no way that when you find the room they were in that there wouldnt be dead zombies all over and the wife at least torn open before the guy killed the zombies and laid down to die next to her *i mean they CLEARLY grab her to the ground and swarm her*

Let me explain this if you don't understand: Sara and her parents went on vacation, not knowing the outbreak. One week after they were still in there hotels, having a party, Sara goes down the hallways. Sara didn't know about the zombies, so basically she starts getting chased by the zombies, and she gets bit on the leg. Her father helps her into the room and puts her on the bed. He grabs the axe and tries to block the zombies in. The mother gets distracted by witnessing her own child turn into a zombie, and then she screams by the horror, and gets killed by the zombies. then Sara jumps on her father, bitting his neck. The father throws Sara off his back, sending Sara straight through the window. *the end.*
