it was alright. it was ok for me.. but after an hour in it got very good. i couldn’t tell where the story was going, which is good, and the emotional parts were very fucking good. especially that ending.
In the Opening credits of Deadpool 1 the writers are credited "the real heroes here", in the opening credits of Deadpool 2 (after Vanessa dies) the writers are credited "the real villians here"
i'm not sure i'm remembering correctly, but I think Deadpool did his own "superhero" landing, referencing the first movie, but Deadpool hurts his knees doing so (in the first movie he said superhero landings must really take their toll on the knees)
I saw it and I was freaking out!xD Ive just returned from cinema and search it and I didnt see it anywhere! And i think it is very visible...So weird noone mentions it!
No one ever mentions that Deadpool’s girlfriend says “ We’re not naming our child Earl, he would go straight to jail” This was a reference to DMX who’s first name is Earl and has had multiple run ins with law. His song “X gonna give it to you” was used multiple times in throughout the movie.
I took it as a reference to My Name is Earl which starred Jason Lee as a small time crook and jail bird who cameo'd in Reynolds comic movie RIPD but you could well be right there.
no, you just ask a person who watched every superhero movie, to find something similair for every 5sec in a cam version, n then call it an easter egg (excluding cameos n named items, like sorting hat or john connor.. but thats so obvious, i wouldnt call it an easter egg :P )
The t-shirt with Taylor Swift's cats is also a reference to Ryan's character in the "Just Friends" movie from 2005 who wore the same t-shirt (with his and his friend's faces instead of kittens while sharing a milkshake) and it said "Shakes come & go... but Friends are Furrr-ever!" :D
Yeah, it was one of the last "fun" movies. I don't mean to sound old or nostalgic, but they don't make movies like that anymore, the 90's and the early 2000's were full of movies of that type, simple, wacky, silly and just FUN. Now it's all about CGI action and superheroes (not that I don't like those either, but I miss simple fun movies of this type) :D
Firefist's name in the comics is Rusty. Russel is actually Shattertar, as in Benjamin Russel, the body he was put in after dying. The host is right. The movie just switched their names. If you listen to Shatterstar's introductory, he says his name is Rusty.
4:24 - Also, in addition to the Pinkie Pie reference, it is also a reference to Death Battle, in which Pinkie Pie and Deadpool were pitted against each other before they realized they had a lot in common, became friends and then went on a fourth wall breaking trip through other Death Battle videos. That's the reason why Deadpool winks after calling Yukio Pinkie Pie.
Slight correction, maybe just an observation: Deadpool calling Cable 'John Conner' holds up, reason being because Josh Brolin looks very much like Michael Edwards from Terminator 2: Judgement Days opening sequence, where the future version of Conner send the T-800 back in time.
3:54 i was NOT expecting that. but as a true supernatural fan it's like a muscle memory i automatically sang it before i even realized that there's a song playing
In the scene where deadpool and russ first enter the jail, you can see a figure that resembles the joker in the bottom right corner. It was a really brief shot, but the figure is pale and has green hair.
Jack Thorpe 😂 I’m a huge movie buff and am secretly a movie critic lol. It’s not as easy to see the boys as much since the park closed and I live over an hour away. Just been focusing on my family and building up a business while riding. I’ll be stopping into the shop this week though. Thanks for saying what’s up🤙🏽
Come as you are by nirvana, performed by Jimmy darling in freak show ahs and referenced to in "definitely maybe" a Ryan Reynolds film. They upped their wall break game.
there's another reference to terminator (specifically 2 judgment day): the kids' seats in the playground from the terminator movie (in sarah connor's dream and the opening credits) appear in the yard of the last battle
Rusty is the actual Firefist's name. Russel, in the comics, is Shatterstar, as in Benjamin Russel, the body he was put in after dying. If you listen to Shatterstar's introductory, he says his name is Rusty. The host was right. The movie just switched their names.
An Easter egg is something hidden so you have a pleasant surprise if you look hard enough and find it, or indeed stumble upon it by accident. Most of these are jokes communicated clearly to the audience for them to get, find funny and laugh at there and then on first viewing.
saxbend yeah the cure for blindness under the floor is a perfect example of an Easter egg..but he pops over that and points out mainly stuff everyone saw haha
9:17 Zeitgeist is kind of a diouble easter egg. Because the mutant Zeitgeist wasn't the first character by that name. The original Zeitgeist appeared 20 years *before* the mutant version and was a part-time member of a german superheroes group, lead by Hauptmann Deutschland. That Zeitgeist was a close friend of Reed Richards as a kid, tat later turned into Everyman as a villain fighting Captain America, then turned into Zeitgeist helping out Cap and later became an insane killer of superheroes in South America while being under influence of Doctor Faustus. Both Zeitgeist characters, the mutant and the Everyman version look very similiar to each other - except their costumes.
There were at least 1 or 2 references to Hunt for the Wilderpeople, the kid who played Russell Connor's first big movie (directed by taika waikiki -same guy that directed Thor Ragnarok). I swear I saw Taika in this movie as well, but not sure.
You missed 2 I know of, battle in the playground when blood splatters the camera references saving private Ryan, and when cable gets thrown and stuck on the fence is a reference to spawn.
When DP fights against Cable, while trying to rescue Russell while "in-transit", he mentions karate after a move Cable makes, which seems to me like a reference to Blade Trinity, in a scene where he asks Blade what his plans would be after defeating the vampire world, and that he doesn't see him teaching karate at the local gym.
When the vanisher hits the power lines Brad Pitt flickers in and out much like his character Tyler durden did in fight club where he co-stared with Edward Norton who went on to play Bruce Banner in The Incredible Hulk which is “technically” the same version of Bruce that Mark Ruffalo plays now.
[Guy is being murdered and begs killer to save his mother, like he wasn’t able to do as a child] Screencrush: “I can never keep a straight face when I watch that” Somebody keep an eye on this guy
"De donde esta la biblioteca?" Always makes me think of dodgeball, it's what Ben Stiller says to Vince Vaughn when he tries to buy him out near the end of the movie
In the comics, Vanessa is a Streisand fan too. John Connor is a CORRECT reference to Cable as both are futuristic military saviors. Good video. That's one long list of references.
Take on Me by the group A-Ha is playing when Wade finally breaks through the wall that separates him and Vanessa. Just like the original music video for the song.
You've missed the references from Hunt for the wilderpeople, the previous movie for Julian Dennison (Fire Fist). He said : I'll be your Two-Pack and you'll be my IceCube. Two-Pack is the name of Rick Baker's dog in Hunt for the Wilderpeople. And they're also the secret code with Juggernaut which he do a bird sound just like in that last movie.
I know on either Easter egg when wade Wilson was recruiting preppie for the x force during dominos or someone else interview there was a picture below showing the woverine
It was a subtle nod to the first Deadpool movie during the bridge fight opening/scene but when Deadpool first meets Juggernaught and starts getting happy to finally meet him, Deadpool mentions how he should have worn his white pants.
ScreenCrush the entire scene with A-Ha's Take On Me was a reference to their music video, with the passing through the "wall," taking each other's hands, changing appearance from avacadohead to normal, etc. Fantastic scene, really.
Troggie42 you beat me to it. I knew right away when that scene played in the movie that it was a huge reference to the original "take on me" music video. Beautifully done.
I'm not sure as I couldn't find any related info, but I think in the scene when Deadpool fights Cable in the convoy truck and there is dubstep playing againg, in one of the prisoners cells there was Sonny John Moore aka Skrillex himself. But I'm not sure and I really wanna know if I'm right, as no one else in the movie theater have noticed that.
1:17 NO NO NO NO NO... If you've been paying attention, Deadpool has a fluent thing for IKEA. This scene and the line "Start the car!!" Is a reference to an hilarious 2006 IKEA commercial known as the "Start the Car IKEA commercial.".
Everybody always misses the Guardians of the Galaxy reference in the orphanage. The posters on the wall of the auditorium have characters that look like Starlord and Gamora. 1:29:07 on the Disney+ version
The boom box was also a call back to the first Deadpool film, when Wade and Vanessa find out he has cancer he says "I will find you in the next life and I'm gonna boom box "Careless Whispers" outside your window.
I think the scene where deadpool asks where is the library is refrencing the scene from netflix's daredevil where foggy tries speaking spanish to a client and asks where is the library
I might be wrong but as deadpool meets his end it eerily similar to Logan the way he lying and the music in the background sounds similar as well. I turned to my friend I said that sounds exactly like Logan.
You miss one in regard to blade trinity when dp mentions he knows karate or something in that nature. Makes me think the dubstep reference is also due to blade trinity.
loskatiponeros he's said in interviews he's wanted to do Deadpool for so long it's influenced a lot of his characters, and that he was basically playing him in blade 3 haha.
You missed one. When cable arrives to the current timeline he says “what year is it” - in reference to the terminator movies when Kyle Reece arrives in the first movie.
i think you forgot the superhero landing. In deadpool he is waiting for Franci's assistant (i dont remember her name) to do it while saying it's not practical( mocking all the superheroes who do it)but in deadpool 2 he does it when he jumps from the building russel exploded him saying see its not that practical
Don't know if mentioned - I think a lot of people have missed the Brad Pitt Cameo as an "easter egg" back to Fight Club, since it's only a Split millisecond one frame or less, its very much in tune with his character slicing "pictures" into Movies as a projectionist job affords him the time to enjoy the finer points of life...Anywhoo my 2 cents!
