Think how fun he was with jerry Lewis. I watched a doc about them they were literally brothers and split over a movie because Dean was tired of always being the responsible one in all their skits an such.
At first, Fallout: New Vegas brought me here. I was still young, that was more than 10 years ago. Then, during the pandemic, I am brought here once more, this time by the Blacklist I have started watching mere months ago. Man, there's just something absolutely compelling about the American culture and music from a bygone era. What a song.
When I see this movie, which was made in 1960, I see Dean Martin in the absolute prime of his life. While his success got even bigger as the 60's went on, I think he was at his peak, physically and health-wise, right around the time of Ocean's Eleven.
@Taqifsha Nanen I come from a large Italian family near where Dean Martin is from. My mother's parents and several other parts of the family immigrated from Italy.
Master Dean with one of his finest hits !! Remind me of the " Rat Pack " days.... Well done Mr Martin. R.I.P. Sir..............................................
@@Imani_AM The ORIGINAL "Oceans Eleven" from 1960. Too many believe the original has Brad Pitt and George Clooney. While not a bad movie, it's definitely not the original.
I like to watch Oceans 11 just for Dean and this song. "she's picked out a king size bed"... I remember being ten years old and hearing him sing the song on radio and in the movie. My parents had a double bed back then, and I didn't know a what a king size bed even was. But I knew it was meaningful to the song. My father LOVED Dean so much and song Everybody loves Somebody. My sisters and I used to sing it for daddy. Some artists are here once and no one is ever like them again.
If that isn't the truth. It's not even remotely close. To be able to go back for just one night in the Copa Room at "The Sands" and see "The Rat Pack." Oh well, at the very least I can always watch the original "Oceans Eleven."
Something about Dean Martin, he makes me feel so cozy, comfortable and safe - just wholesome goodness and niceness, something about him, I just love him.
Can't beat Ain't That a Kick in the Head, by Dean Martin from Ocean's 11, as well as the original recording. As for the movie, definitely the best of The Rat Pack films. And all of them (Frank, Dean, Sammy, Peter, and Joey) were available. The other films, some of them fell off the radar and didn't show up. I guess by the mid 60's the popularity of The Rat Pack was starting to fade. Any way, thanks for posting this video clip.
It’s amazing to see so many positive comments posted. I wonder, are all these comments merely from people ignorant about basic technical singing skills, or perhaps, are these biased comments made by his friends and family members.
Loved me some dean...my uncle joe drunk at our Christmas parties would sing everybody loves somebody....every year loved dean ever since. Rest in peace handsome 😇🥰
A fine classic song of which I'm enjoying tonight with a fine cigar and a glass of bourbon. This song speaks to me about love live and realionships it's either what you want or it's not "Ain't that a kick in the head"
The truck, back ground, oh the ending. OG Oceans 11... One movie you can have a WII (Guadalcanal) Vet, 68 Tet Offensive Vet, and a OIF/OEF Vet through out their ages just be kids again outside a Mel Brooks movie. Great story.
28 años y amo esta musica, me hubiera encantado vivir en estos tiempos donde se podia escuchar BUENA MUSICA de grandes artistas como Sinatra, Amstrong, Fitzgerald and Dean Martin 😍
How lucky can one guy be? I kissed her and she kissed me Like the fella once said "Ain't that a kick in the head?" The room was completely black I hugged her and she hugged back Like the sailor said, quote "Ain't that a hole in the boat?" My head keeps spinnin' I go to sleep and keep grinnin' If this is just the beginnin' My life is gonna be bee-yoo-tee-ful I've sunshine enough to spread It's just like the fella said Tell me quick, ain't that a kick in the head? Like the fella once said "Ain't that a kick in the head?" Like the sailor said, quote "Ain't that a hole in the boat?" My head keeps spinnin' I go to sleep and keep grinnin' If this is just the beginnin' My life is gonna be bee-yoo-tee-ful She's tellin' me we'll be wed She's picked out a king-size bed I couldn't feel any better or I'd be sick Tell me quick oh, ain't that a kick? Tell me quick ain't that a kick in the head?
Dean I remember you and sometimes your son a little better please don't miss him much because remember he served most loyally his flying station so he died many have died be happy glad he was a Christian faithful loyal and firmly always believed and spread the words even in his last moments of eternal life it wasn't in the newspapers I went down with him prompt my returned to my address at 263 d with my faith and instinct in eternal life and I watched the news was gratefully alive and cheerfully teenaged and holding his progeny good bye i love you ala ways grandfather of one of my favourite places america and Italy !
Smooth, Suave & Sophisticated ; but enough about me Dean Martin Ain't too shabby in this! God bless the Rat Pack, he was swell cool in The Cannonball Run as well! ;)
@@goldy_on_pc930 There's a lot of information in film. 35mm film is somewhere around 5.6K in resolution. It's possible for well-preserved films of this era to look even better than we're seeing here. It's just a matter of whether a film is considered worthy of such a restoration and scan to studios. People tend to think just because something is old, or analog, that it's somehow inferior to the modern technologies. When in all honesty, our televisions have just recently touched the threshold of the quality that has been available in film for decades. That's not counting something like 70mm Imax film which is like 12k.

Reminds me of taking Route 66 to California seeing all the neon hotels driving Wayne “the train” Hancock to his shows and listen to our favorite swing the whole time
