Dear Bishops: Why We Love The MASS OF THE AGES 

I had been away from Church for 20 years, and I was invited back by a family member, but instead of the N.O, I was invited to a TLM. What struck me immediately: silence, reverence, modest dress, a sermon that punched me in the face, Holy Communion kneeling and on the tongue, a choir chanting beautifully, no laity involved except male servers, etc. I could go on and on. I couldn't believe how different this experience was compared to my N.O memories. I soon found my wife in the shadow of the Church, and since have had 3 healthy beautiful children who read along in their 1962 Missals at Mass. After I abandoned the Lord for 20 years, He not only called me back and forgave me, but He brought me to the TLM, provided me with a bride,band a family and community. No matter what happens, one way or another, my family will do everything we can to continue be present at the Mass of the Saints.

I was raised on an Indian reservation and wasn't baptized until the age of 7. I developed a devotion to the rosary at that time. By age 12 I was fully fallen away from the Church and by the age of 16 was fully involved with the occult. By the age of 28-29 I was praying the rosary in secret and had a deathbed conversion which I promised God I would raise my children right if he let me live. Within 2 years my family met some people who introduced us to the TLM and a full reversion took place. Thank GOD for the TLM. I am willing to tell this story if contacted.

I was raised socialist, and looking for the aim of life I discovered God. For years I tried to follow Him in the Church. Then, I attended my first Latin Mass, it shook me to the core, and I understood what religion really is. Today I am a diocesan parish priest. Without the Latin Mass, I would never have gone beyond the very first steps of faith.

I wonder how many fallen away Catholics came back to the church because of the TLM. I know it brought me back. I almost went orthodox bc of the reverence but The Holy Spirit lead me back home and there’s nothing better. Praise God!

The Latin Mass enriched my faith. It is not only outwardly beautiful, but spiritually fulfilling. Please pray for our bishops and our pope, as well as all our priests and religious.

Thank you Lord for the graces you have poured out on your Body, the Church. I Love You!

This made me cry, like the first time i attended the Latin Mass. Our bishops just folded and sent out a letter that they are going to follow the Motu Propio. I feel so lost. I've only been going for nine months. Lord, have mercy. Mary Our Mother, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee.

The loss of this holy and beautiful treasure will be impossible to measure. Please, please, please Bishops: Don't take it away from us!

The Latin mass is the purest form of our Catholic mass I just love it.

I love the TLM! The beauty and the reverence, the high elevation of my soul when I listen to the prayers. This is the truest form of the celebration and offering of the Holy Sacrifice of Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!

Here in Chicago - St. John Cantius Church still strong with the TLM - ( as seen @ 2:20 in this video ) truly a spiritual oasis for many of us here … has been even through the thick of COVID . God bless these brave priests! They NEVER denied anyone Holy Communion on the tongue. NEVER!!! 🙏🏼

I have always thought that the Traditional Latin Mass was just a translation of the Novus Ordo Mass. I didn't even know that there is a Novus Ordo or a Traditional Mass. I discovered this mass only by accident when I felt I was the only one receiving Our Lord on the tongue and kneeling in the Novus Ordo Mass. I have always wondered why this is like a NO NO in the Novus Ordo mass. Then in the end I discovered why this is so.... when I discovered the Traditional Latin Mass... the mass which makes me travel in all forms of land transportation ... by Tricycle, by bus, by train, by Jeepney and then by walking to the SSPX Church where I love to attend the Traditional Latin Mass.

This video made me cry. And, although always a faithful Mass going Catholic from birth, I attended the Novus Ordo Mass and hadn't been to a Latin Mass in over 40 years. On a whim, I attended a TLM about 5 years ago and I, like Monsignor Morris stated in the video, couldn't stop crying. I was actually a bit embarrassed because I had no control over my tears. I was overwhelmed by the stunning beauty of the Mass, the reverence! My heart aches at the thought that any bishop would deny the faithful this gift from Heaven. Mama Mary, Help of Christians, help and pray for us!

For me the Traditional Mass is so Reverent so Holy, so contemplative and spiritual that I cannot comprehend the attack that is undergoing from within the Church. This mass is ONLY Good, all Good, it surrenders all to God, elevates us all to Him. This is the mass of the Saints, hopefully one day it will really become OUR IDEOLOGY.

And to think that most of my life I never knew the Latin mass even existed. Every time I attend mass at my SSPX parish, I thank the Lord that He led me not only back to the church, but also to tradition.

I was deeply touched by these stories- I follow most of the more famous Catholics you interviewed and was so excited to hear them explain their love of the old mass. Almost 15 years in attendance at our parish and we saw it grow by leaps and bounds this year and we love it!!! We often get accused of thinking we are holier than others, but I’ll say this - I am far more aware of the fact I am a growing and a sinner just like my fellow Catholics since I became a traditional mass goer. We converted in our mid-50s from evangelicals as we read our way into the church. we several times attempted to get involved in our small towns novus ordo church however they wouldn’t even return our phone calls or responded to us after we dropped in for masses etc. they didn’t seem interested in confirming or baptizing us into the faith and we needed to go through our RCIA etc. finally we were introduced to a TLM priest who took us seriously and swiftly who put us through our RCIA baptized us and the Bishop confirmed us and we’ve been in the Latin mass community ever since beginning in July 2011 we are boomers and we among a small group old people there ha ha Ha it’s wonderful to see the young families with kids Gives me hope in the future of the church all this mean trad stuff one hears of - well we have not experienced personally rather we’ve experienced lots of love and acceptance and support and it’s a great community and we’ve made lifelong friends from it. we also attend Novus Ordo masses the MarionFathers of the immaculate conception are great and so are the Oblates of Saint Joseph we also have attended the Byzantine rite and the Melkite rite. but our home is the traditional Latin mass our bishop is meeting with our priest in a few days and we’re praying that we can keep this mass in our diocese that we all have to drive a long way to attend As it is in the farthest off backwater of a massive geographical county it was moved from a mausoleum if you can believe that in a cemetery to what we were hoping was its final home in a real church building it had been moved repeatedly over decades and had even been conducted in peoples homes as there was a small group here who tried to maintain it after what happened in the late 60s and early 70s It was being run out of the diocese in California,and now to see this is heart wrenching Thank you very much for creating putting up this video out I wish our bishop could see it before he meets with our priest but I will forward this to our priest. Our priest did say a week ago that the bishop says we are united -so unless the Bishop gets tremendous pressure I’m thinking we may be able to keep the mass here-for now. Pax Christi

The TLM is a treasure that brought me back to the Church after many years of absence. It will do the same for others. To suppress, restrict or prohibit it will mean the loss of countless souls.

When I had my 6 kids I was attending NO and people looked at my husband and I like we were rabbits....finally found Latin mass.... and I feel at home! I wish we had found it earlier, but thankful that some of my children have receive some of their sacraments in the Latin rite!!!!

I personally have always wished to go to a traditional Latin mass, but the one church in my diocese that celebrated it, was the only one that got destroyed due to a tornado in 2019. It is still under repairs. Please pray for our bishops and our pope, and also for the diocese of Nashville. 🙏

I was born in 1961. I hardly remember the TLM. I remember my Nono and Nona’s deep love of the Catholic faith. They said the rosary in Latin every night at 6:15, no matter what. My cousins thought the “old” ways were superstitious. Their home was the domestic church. “Shrines” to the “old way.” How I long for their “old way.”

Happy for those inspired by the TLM. I grew up with it and find the NO celebrated by our holy priests a more holy experience. I hope as we move forward fellow Catholics can be charitable and respectful to one another no matter which form of the Mass best moves us to love and serve our Lord Jesus.

In answer to anyone who claims that the traditional Mass is too "triumphalist." I respond: Jesus triumphed over Death itself. The traditional Mass may be as triumphalist as men might have been able to devise, but it really is not triumphalist enough.

Latin mass brought me back to the church. So far my dad and I are the only Catholics left in a huge Italian family no thanks to the new church. I’m thankful for the TLM, what shall I return to the Lord for all that he has done for me?

I was 17 in 1980 when I went to my first Catholic Mass with a friend, but we both knew there was something wrong with it (it was actually the Novus Ordo). A couple of years later I was on a city bus when the bus driver asked me what religion I was. I told him that I was supposed to be Catholic but I didn't like how the church was so I didn't go. He asked if I ever heard of a certain church in the city that did only the TLM. I had not and he took me there a few times. It was the most beautiful Mass! I was away for over 25 years but returned 7 years ago.

My priest is conservative and does a Low Mass every Sabbath. High Mass on Saturday night. I love the Latin. Love the Our Father & Hail Mary Latin prayers. Satan HATES Latin and when we talk time to learn it!!

I had a bad dream last night that I went to receive our Lord in the Eucharist and knelt down but there was no alter boy with the thing that catches any crumbs from the Eucharist (I don't know the name of it) and all I could see was a cloud of dust from the Eucharist falling all over the floor. I was terrified and ran to lick up any crumb lest He be trampled, but all these officials came in and started vacuuming up the floor in droves. It was a horror. I couldn't bear how carelessly Jesus was being trampled and thrown out with the trash. The Latin mass is truly a gift from God. It's like the Bible. You keep coming back to it and you get more and more.... The silence and mystery is like a perfectly filmed suspense movie, but obviously much greater. There is just such a transcendent beauty to it in contrast to the flatness of the new mass. I have attend the new mass most of my life and while valid, I'll attend it, I'm dramatically lifted up into worship to a 3rd degree in the Latin mass.

Why would they take away something so precious, so sacred, so inspiring, so dear, so ancient and wonderful? No one is saying this is superior, but this is more relatable more connecting to a young Catholic such as me. Who said this caused division, I think it brought more unity, and more connection, it brought me back to the faith more than other means. I think they needed to hear from us parishioners what we think. Ore tolerance and respect to us who appreciated what has always been there. No one is saying among us the novus ordo mass ( which I heard was originally in Latin also ) is not valid, but I think the sspx is where I can move to if they deny permission to our parishes. They are there for a reason.

"For me, it's like Peter in John 6, when Jesus says, are you going to go, too? Where else would we go? You have the words of eternal life. The Traditional Latin Mass is that for us. Where else would we go, Lord? We're with You to the end." Amen. This really tugs at my heartstrings.

I can spend hours watching videos like this. Such a beautiful transcendent tradition. Makes me teary eyed to think that, for example, during the most horrible stages of life like WW1/2 or any other period, peoples from different ethnic background, Hispanic from Spain to Dominican Republic, or Equatorial New Guinea, Italy, France, Ireland, Greece etc as Catholics, we could walk into any church any place in the world and feel at home, no matter what our native language was, we ware all one under Christ's bride and we knew where we stood all on the same page during the Tridentine mass. Now that's gone. Just like us Hispanics after the "independence" wars, which Hispanist like me call "separatist" wars, we broke from being all subjects, which the vast majority of the Spanish Empire army was composed of Indigenous peoples, blacks, mixed called "Realistas"(Royalist), figthing for God the crown and fatherland, since we were not "colonies" unlike the Anglos, we were extended regions/provinces of Spain. And just like all revolutions and independent movements, like in France or Italy, they were lead by the few burguoise elite, while the majority of the common folk like in Vendee, or in Italy with the Sanfedisti, were in favor of the Catholic rule and their father the king to look out for them, and against "Egalite, Fraternite, Liberte" bs. AS the lyrics for the "Canto dei Sanfedist"(Song of the Sanfedisti) goes: At the sound of bass drums Hail the lower class. At the sound of the tambourines the poor have risen up. At the sound of bells long live the peasantry. At the sound of violins death to jacobins. Its singing, the Carmagnola is singing, advisers are singing: "long live the King with his family" x2 On the 30th of June, Saint Anthony the Glorious, these rascals, busted the lords asses! The French have come, and imposed new taxes on us, "liberté" ... "egalité" ... You rob me, I rob you ... The French have arrived and already bled us dry and voila, and volia kick "liberty" in the ass. For anyone that is curious or has never heard of it, check out the youtube channel Ex Cathedra. It has lots of old regime catholic songs with lyrics and nice visuals. Another great song is "Monsieur d'Elbée". Viva Cristo Rey!
