Timothy Williams I was thinking a Starz mini series! I was watching Outlander when I got an idea for how a possible mini series might go, since the setting for Gentleman was the same as Outlander Season 2 and I just know they could do an amazing job
The runebinder trilogy would be awesome for a movie adaptation. A gay main character who is a wizard who can manipulate water and fight monsters in a postapocaloptic world... 100% recommend CeCe
Carry On by Rainbow Rowell would be good, since Fantastic Beasts is slowly careening off a cliff. It's all the Harry Potter nostalgia without all the skirting around gay things
The Diviners would make SUCH a good TV show. Horror, historical fiction, and the allure of the roaring twenties all wrapped up in one, plus a gay male character with the biggest heart but most heartbreaking backstory, and a disabled ace lesbian Chinese character! HOW CAN YOU NOT SUPPORT THIS?
Okay, so the first two that popped into my head. "Jack of Hearts" by Lev A. C. Rosen would make an awesome TV show! It would be like Pretty Little Liars meets Sex in the City meets Gossip Girl -- only with a much more diverse cast. You'd have to be careful not to sensationalize the sex aspect, but there is so much potential there. Every episode could be framed around one of the blog posts. I'd tune in. For a cute romantic comedy -- "Under the Lights" by Dahlia Adler. You have a Korean-American main character who falls for another girl in an absolutely adorable romance. You have great friendships and its set around young actors in Hollywood. I love your ideas ... now I have a bunch more books to check-out. "Not Your Sidekick" would be a great cartoon!
I've always longed for an adaptation of the Sidekick Squad books but I'd never thought about it being animated before and now I need that more than I've ever needed anything else
the SASS in the intro had me living! Ive never related to something more. I want to enjoy f/f movies but theyre ALL TOO SAD! Also YES EVERYTHING LEADS TO YOU would be perfect as a movie. And an animated NOT YOUR SIDEKICK :O Ive never thought of that but I love it And I really want to see an adaptation of OTHERBOUND by Corinne Duyvis because if SENSE8 can make body-swapping work, this can also be made a movie. I also need NOTEWORTHY to me a movie bc we were robbed with Pitch Perfect and I also like seeing bisexual people entering different gender relationships in media
I was not prepared for the high level of books I needed to add to my TBR. Caught them on the rewatch. This video was perfect. The Every Heart a Doorway series is my favorite.
THERES SO MANY? LIKE, The Cabin at the End of the World and also Into the Drowning Deep would make awesome horror movies, The Traitor Baru Cormorant needs to be an epic HBO TV-Series, and someone NEEDS to make a fun teen movie out of I Was Born For This by Alice Oseman
This video was great!!! I need like all of these adaptations in my life. Personally, I think Radio silence deserves an adaptation and would make an amazing mini series.
They’re not the most well known books, but I think the Psycop series by Jordan Castillo Price would make an AMAZING show. A procedural cop show with ghosts where the main character is gay, tell me you don’t want to see that on Netflix!
I NEED A MOVIE OF EVERYTHING LEADS TO YOU RIGHT NOW PLEASE. And Evelyn Hugo obviously should be adapted too, it's perfect for a film or miniseries, if Hollywood can get over its fucking ageism and whitewashing.
I would love to see Into The Drowning Deep adapted. I mean, we all know that movies about scary creatures in the ocean killing people do well, so why haven't they adapted it yet??
super late but I would die for an adaptation of Into the Drowning Deep by Mira Grant Lots of strong female characters in STEM fields, a bisexual woman lead and an autistic lesbian lead (!!!) who fall in love, deaf representation, and a fresh take on mermaids which is SORELY needed god I love this book so much edit: i have heard that there may/will be an adaptation of the prequel novella Rolling in the Deep, but I haven't read it yet so idk if there's lgbt+ representation there
OH MY GOD THE SALT I would personally fund a Flight 29 Down-esque television series of Beauty Queens by Libba Bray. A Hold Me Closer, Tiny Cooper movie musical. Let's Talk About Love. Jack Of Hearts (And Other Parts). Any Adam Silvera book.
I think this would be great too to have a realistic representation of homosexual parents. That they DONT force or change their children to be gay like them.
I love this so much and I think Netflix should get Noelle Stevenson to adapt her graphic novel Nimona into an animated movie since She-Ra went over so well. Also Love in the Time of Global Warming by Francesca Lia Block is the queer teens road-tripping through the apocalypse movie we all deserve right now.
I would love a mini series of I'll Give You the Sun, of course adapted by Netflix so it can be super artsy and aesthetic, maybe each episode following a different pov like in the book
Every heart a doorway should be made into a film. How many movies have asexual characters or have a story that doesn't include characters being in a relationship?
THE SHADE THE TEA (but I feel) And honestly, I would be so down to see The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo as either a series or a movie. And one that I think would do really well as a Netfllix movie is When the Moon Was Ours by Anna Marie McLemore!
You have given me so much to read!! Love this video and your enthusiasm. I have had a few of these on my the but many are new to me as well. Thank you so much for sharing ❤️❤️
Just a general recommendation for anyone craving some more LGBT representation: audio drama podcast. They are basically full cast audio books (for free) and many have a lot of great representation. For example: The Bright Sessions, The Penumbra Podcast or The Strange Case of Starship Iris. Including groups that only rarely get represented like asexual, transgender or genderfluid people.
if Graphic Novels count then Can we Please get a netflix series for the Wicked and Divine*. A live action adaptation for Shimanami Tasogare. And an animated Kill Six Billion Demons* for all your queer cosmic Fantasy needs. * They are still ongoing
I totally agree with movie for of fire and stars and summer of jordi perez! I would love to see a movie for "symptoms of being human" or maybe see it stretched as a mini series
First off want to say I agree and Love all of this!!! Secondly I would love to see a TV series for THE RAINBOW BOYS trilogy by: Alex Sanchez. It would make the perfect drama similar to the 90's/ early 00's heydays! Like Dawson's Creek or One Tree Hill.
a tv series of and I darken!!! game of thrones aesthetic (I guess ???I mean I haven't watched got but y'know something like that) but with a kickass female lead and tons of battles and action but our gay mc doesn't die!!! and gets to create his own happy gay found family
Also we need a spray bottle for when hollywood tries to cast cis actors as trans characters ((( : And looks like the Broken Earth trilogy is actually gonna be a TV show!!! I'm so excited.
I am almost finished with Heart of Iron by Ashley Poston and I want to see it as a movie. Also I think George by Alex Gino would make a powerful movie. I think I would cry in that one. 💖💖💖
*looks around* so is no one going to tell her Seanan McGuire actually did sell the rights to every heart a doorway and it’s going to be made into a movie??
Okay, so, l enjoy all your videos, and it probably doesn't take much more than proper editing to do them, considering it's you in front of a camera with a topic. But you're probably the most prolific RU-vidr l'm subscribed to. I hope you're willing to have a break now and again. I don't want you burning out over any obligation you think you have to your viewers. That's all l wanted to say. Happy holidays! ~ TDG
Everything leads to you yes yes yes yes also we are okay would be AMAZING and would make me bawl prob as much as the book did! ALSO I was JUST saying that I want the seven husband's to be a movie or TV series...and I haven't even read it yet (it's on this months tbr)
dylanisreviewing ok but like. We are the ants in the style of perks of being a wallflower? Just artsy and emotional and simple and the alien part you like never fully see the aliens?? Just the ship and the button and it’s written beautifully and there is an actor who carries the whole thing IT COULD BE DONE IM ALREADY CRYING
