Johnny1248 fast forward to 2019 we champions of Europe and got one of the biggest games of the season against shitty on Sunday. Amazing how far our club has come since these dark days. Thanks Jurgen and FSG. Get in there you mighty reds. 1892
and this my friends is an example of why the rest of England sees this city as a bad joke, and the rest of the country is little better to be honest...absolutely embarrassing....jesus this country is fucked
This message needs to go out to ALL ENGLISH clubs that are being bought out by foreign people. I myself am I Man U fan and feel for what Liverpool fans are going through as it's happening over at Old Trafford to a degree. Hope the fans get what they want. Power to the people and all that.
It's times like these that football people should stand united, not just Liverpool fans. I'm a Manchester United fan and I have a feeling the same is going to happen to us soon with the Glazer ownership (Our debt is 3x more than the debt Liverpool has). Shed your outside layer of which club you support and stand up for football. Stand up for Liverpool, the most successful club in English history. Lets all stand together united against Tom Hicks and George Gillet!
My best wishes for this great club and all the true supporters. Let's hope the new owners respect tradition and history and Liverpool returns to its old glory!
i'm a MU fan and i want to say congrats on the video. I hope to see liverpool strong and fitting for the top 4 again. The PL needs clubs like Liverpool and United, clubs with history.
when you walk through a storm hold your head up high and dont be afraid of the dark AT THE END OF THE STORM THERE IS A GOLDEN SKY and the sweet silver song of a lark walk on through the wind walk on through the rain though your dreams tossed and blown walk on walk on with hope in your heart and YOULL NEVER WALK ALONE YOULL NEVER WALK ALONE
I'm a Spurs fan but sympathise with the Scouser and love this video - the yanks have systematically destroyed a great british institution - can you really imagine a premiership without Liverpool? All the best!
As an Everton supporter, I fully back Mr Hicks. Why should he lose out from a legitimate business investment? I think Liverpool will actually benefit from 3 or 4 years in the Championship anyway; they can get rid of the overpaid prima donnas.
What a fantastic job Hicks and Gillette did at LFC. Had they not sold the club, Reina would have lead a summer exodus of players, and right now, LFC would be in the Championship. Two great men, pioneers of business. I don't know why you LFC fans vilify them so much, they were a blessing in disguise.
Texas Rangers Baseball Club Lifelong fan here and since Mr. Hicks is now out as owner, the Rangers are having their most successful season in team history. 1 Win away from the American League Championship Series and 5 wins away from the World Series.
I'm a fulham fan and it really saddens me to see this happen to a great club. its a such a shame that this is the current situation in football and real football fans everywhere know this. i wish good luck to the true liverpool supporters.
"The Liverpool chairman, Martin Broughton, today promised the club's fans "a bright future" after Royal Bank of Scotland won its legal battle to force the club's owners, Tom Hicks and George Gillett, to reconstitute the board and so allow a sale to proceed." No need for people to show hate towards people, it's all about business, nothing personal Liverpool fans.
I live in Texas. I have seen Tom Hicks sink two teams that he owned the Texas Rangers (baseball) and the Dallas Stars (hockey). When Hicks sold the Rangers in 2010, the Rangers got the right players and team and money to get to the World Series. Before that we didn't make the playoffs since 1999. For Dallas Stars, sadly the team is bankrupt and haven't made the playoffs in 4 years. No one has bought the team yet. So you see a good idea how his ownership has sunken teams he owned.
Simon Heffer said it best in his splendid Spectator article back in 2004: "[Liverpudlians] see themselves whenever possible as victims, and resent their victim status; yet at the same time they wallow in it. Part of this flawed psychological state is that they cannot accept that they might have made any contribution to their misfortunes, but seek rather to blame someone else for it, thereby deepening their sense of shared tribal grievance against the rest of society."
This video just sums up with Liverpool fans are the best. Stand up for something they believe in and end up winning. How many clubs or people could do that once, Nevermind every time.
big thanks to all the blue-noses who are obssesed with liverpool and can't resist watching this video, thank you so much for helping it to get the unbelievable viewing figures it has achieved in such a short time. please tell all your mates and keep watching and posting such pearls of wisdom, you are all stars.
Too sad to see LFC like that :( my dad (may he rest in peace) was a liverpool fan and i am an Arsenal fan but always respected the reds and loved watching Barnes, Rush etc play. At this moment i can only be relieved that Arsenal's future is secured, trophies or non
Liverpool FC is all I've ever had and that's why I feel so rich. It's not just an ordinary football club. This is something more - love, passion, pride, faith, loyalty and sense of everything. YNWA!!!
He took the team from European cup winners to being in the relegation zone when they left. What great owners. And now that they've left we are winning everything
My old man used to say to me, "I supported Liverpool when we were in the second division, would you?". Thankfully it looks like I won't have to answer that question as there'll be no nine point penalty, but I was prepared to to get rid of those two parasites.
the funny thing about all these 'fans' of other clubs commenting and having a go is that they are helping our cause. They are providing more hits=more publicity. you're all really clever
Tom Hicks sold the Texas Rangers baseball team this year and they advanced further into the playoffs than they have in their entire history. Dallas sports fans were dancing in the street when Hicks finally left. Good things happen when Hicks gets out of town.
I'm not a Liverpool supporter but I whole heartily agree with everything this video stands for. To see such a great club fall the way they have is a crime. No matter who you support Liverpool FC plays a major part in the history of English football and I only hope that this messy situation gets sorted soon.
In the first season of the premier league era LFC had the highest average attendance. Man Utd only managed an average crowd of 35,132. Even now they can't sell all their season tickets whilst LFC have a 15 year waiting list. I cant think of another club in the world that would as much opinion from other teams fans than LFC does, but thats testament to how big we are. Still the most successful British club of all time. Utd still stuck with Glazer 4eva. RIP Man Utd.
I remember when Liverpuddle fans were squealing in delight and wetting themselves that Hicks and Gillette were owners a few years ago. No loyality from liverpuddle fans
Not a liverpool fan, but seriously hicks needs to sell the club and stop ruining the clubs atmosphere! Hicks needs to sell and get out of england, and he's the only person that will walk alone.
Any Liverpool fan who is irritated at other fans mocking their financial problems need to take a look in the mirror and recall if they have ever snubbed their noses at smaller clubs in years past. Liverpool deserves better? Perhaps. But so do hundreds of other clubs world wide!!! The finalist of the first two European cups against Real Madrid, Stade de Reims is in the Third Division in France for goodness sake!
It would be best for all concerned if the Bank closed down Liverpool and put it out of its misery. The stadium can be bulldozed and turned into a supermarket or better still a car park.
One thing that people love to bring up is how Rafa forced Xabi out after his best season in a red shirt (08/09). This is incorrect. In the 07/08 season, Alonso was injured frequently and was well short of form. Benitez had every right to try and sell him after that season. He failed to sign Barry (Who at the time was performing much better than Alonso) so Xabi stayed. He was on fire in 08/09 but he had already decided on leaving England at the end of the season anyway.
Though I'm not a fan of any football club, preferring as I do simply to enjoy the game for itself, I can honestly say what is happening to Liverpool is very sad to see. They're a great club with real fans and they don't deserve to be where they are not :(
i am a man utd fan but what's happening over at liverpool is really sad. no real football fan can take any pleasure from what's happening and especially man utd fans. i love football and the rivalry between the clubs and what people have to realize is that the game will be less fun if your rival is not around.
it's more than just a football club and a sport, it's a religion and a way of life. i have been a loyal supporter since i was 7 years old, i live in Norway, and i have watched every game since. Love the game, and i love the club. I want the yanks out so we can get our beloved Liverpool out of the gutter. (sorry for my bad english, norwegian you know)
The next few days will be very interesting. Here's hoping Broughton, Ayres and Purslow get a favourable court ruling. While the jury is out on NESV they can't be worse than Hicks and Gillett!
As a united fan, it's sad to see this happening to, who I deem as our biggest rivals. Hopefully the end of this joke is near, and we can get back down to business sooner rather than later
I'm actually a ManU-fan, but it breaks my heart to see this kind of shit happen to Liverpool. As a ManU-fan I have a sincere dislike for Liverpool, but they deserve better than this.
I think there's a mistake on Wikipedia... it says that the 1985 European Cup Final result was Juventus 1 Liverpool 0. I watched it on TV that night and I'm sure it was much more than that.... more like Juventus 39 Liverpool 0.
Dear Mr Hicks, When I look around and see what you have achieved, I see a destroyed kingdom! A sank magnificent history. You promised a lot and fulfill nothing. Therefore, I ask to leave! Liverpool FC is more than a football club for me and for millions of fans all over the world. You're making our lives harder from day to day. This is ...not working, please get out of our club and give us our beloved Liverpool FC back.
@Jeremih15 The reason this is up now is nothing to do with our form on the pitch. It was due to the fact the owners loans expire this month and if they aren't repaid the club will be in financial meltdown and possibly administration.
@NexLevel123 Congratulations my friend!! Pray that Liverpool will rise again and have a trophy in Anfield. Let us celebrate, ALL OF US! YOU'LL NEVER WALK ALONE!
This is class, as a Leeds fan who had a bad chairman who sent us down to the 3rd teir of english football, i really coudnt give a sh*t what happened to them liverpool fans could do with some relegation to put this all into perspective, whats the differance between a cow and a tradigy = a liverpool fan couldnt milk a cow for 21 years
@Keizer84 Fair enough. I do think it would be silly of people to say that Benitez didn't have a part in our recent slump. He did make the decision to buy an injured, Aquilani and he did insist on playing some absurd formations(Fabio Aurelio playing centre-mid against Fiorentina sticks out) But I do believe he was grossly let down by management as well. Having your own board approach Klinsmann in the middle of the season must be very unsettling.
Hicks and gillette - stay as long as you can - you are more than welcome.....The murdering reds were happy to have you when they thought you were going to throw cash at them. Well, it hasnt worked out - and christ, don't they bitch - let them deal with the consequences - you have taught them an important life lesson. A spell in the lower divisions will do their fans some good - they can live in the past and crow on about history even more then. PLEASE STAY AND CARRY ON THE GOOD WORK
It's amazing how every team he has bought he tried to run into the ground. He has succeeded with Liverpool and the Dallas Stars. He also would have killed the Rangers too if not for Nolan Ryan
@FujiwaraToufu We ARE ENTITLED to have opinions!!! This IS STILL a FREE COUNTRY last I checked!! As far as the INSITUITION goes.... its just a BUS RIDE down the road... easy for YOU to get too!!
Hicks and Gillette have brought The Mighty LFC to its knees, Get Out of our Club because without you Scumbags We will again like a pheonix rise from the flames of this mess.
You Liverpool fans have no idea how great you NOW have it. NESV will do a wonderful job with your club as they did with the Red Sox here in America. Believe me when I say that you are with people who actually care about tradition. Don't be skeptical of another American ownership group, these guys are a lot different than Hicks and Gillett, they actually know what they are doing.
As a 16 year old, a girl and a Man Utd fan I can see exactly where your coming from. What happened to the Fan's clubs! The foreign owners have no respect for the traditional English Football Clubs!
@tipptoggy It's our club and our life. We won't stop supporting the team or the manager. The moment we boycott the matches is the moment we've lost Liverpool.
I'm not a Liverpool fan, but what they have done to the club is AWESOME! It just means one less club to be against in the Prem! GET IN HICKS AND GILETT!
Dear Mr Hicks, Gillette, im from dublin but my blood is red and i feel so bad about the state of my club, your a wealthy man,cut your loses and leave. LIVERPOOL FC is more than a football club to millions of people all over the world, when you leave you will make so many people happy, do the right thing, walk away, i will probably never say or type this again, respect to the man u supporters for supporting all kopites in our struggle with our american liars. man u`s day is coming too YANKS OUT
