When I was 11, I picked up this book on astronomy, some of the stuff was way beyond my understanding at the time, but I started to realize, everything has a cycle, even the stars, the black holes, the universe. AND THAT'S when it hit me! My heart skipped a beat, I felt the goosebumps followed by a sense of doom which I still feel every now and then, especially as I watch and rehearse along the "Tears in rain monologue" from my favorite movie. I feel like my last thoughts will be my own version of this monologue, and every time I'm connecting with nature, family, something meaningful or beautiful to me, I can't help but remember the monologue and at the same time that it makes me cherish the moment even more, there's a bit deep down in me that wonders what the point of it is anyways if all those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain...

I knew a girl in HS that had been in a really bad car accident. She was severely injured, and the girl next to her in the back seat was killed instantly when the back part of the car that got crunched into them broke her neck. The girl (we’ll call her Jane), said she saw her friend (who’s been killed instantly) standing next to her on the street, telling her she was ok, was going to a better place, but she (Jane) couldn’t go with her, because it wasn’t her time yet. She said the next thing she saw was the paramedics working on her, from a 3rd person view, then she woke up in the hospital. She had no idea what had happened, and when they were explaining it to her, they were about to tell her friend had died, but when she told them she already knew, they couldn’t figure out how she knew already her friend was dead, as she’d been unconscious since the collision.

My sister passed last month, on the 7th of November. She was 15. It was sudden. Her asthma became too much out of nowhere and none of her medication was working. I struggled to keep her alive, with my uncle and I doing CPR. It was late at night, and we rushed her to the hospital. She didn't make it. My mom was in a different country and my dad was sleeping at home. We were sleeping at a different house. It still haunts me, to this day, seeing the fear in her eyes before she slipped away. I've cried for a while until I went numb inside. Tomorrow will be 40 days since she's been gone. She was my best friend. In some way, listening to this, it feels like her way of talking to me, consoling me, like we would before when she was still with me. We knew death was inevitable and we never took a moment to take for granted what we had. But it still hurts. In some way, it was chilling to see the time stamps, as it was around the same time she left us. Nonetheless, thank you for making this video. It gave me comfort in these trying times.

Ah, I remember... When I was in 5th grade, my 4th grade teacher passed away due to ALS. It didn't really emotionally hit me until the funeral. I cried my eyes out. All the students he taught, some being in their late 30's, were there's. He was such a good teacher. He was understanding and kind, and was laughing till the end. I once visited his house, and he had gotten so bad, I couldn't understand him. He laughed it off, but I can't imagine how frustrating and sad that must've been... slowly losing your ability to communicate to people around you...no matter how hard you try. Later that night, after the funeral, I was laying in bed, and drifted into sleep. I found myself in a field with tall grass, with my teacher. He looked alive and well, and was smiling. He told me not to worry, for he was in a better place now. There was no need to cry. I woke up later that night, thinking to myself that I brought that image together to cope. So, when I tried to imagine it again, and this time, I was the only one in the field. He was a great guy. Even donated his body for research on ALS. in his words,(or as I remember them to be) ' I'll be gone, so why shouldn't I help the cause?' I still think about it sometimes.

We were forced to put our 7 year old dog because of his broken bones and failing heart. I remember all the lifesuport that was around him, how he looked like in his last moments. The happy puppy with a wagging tail that once ran to the door whenever i came home, now bearly breathing. When they used the syringe, memories of his happies moments, the long walks in the forest, his tennisball that we played catch with. When I held him i knew there were only seconds left. He looked at me with those big black eyes but he did not cry, he had a calming look it was as if he was telling me that everything was going to be fine, you will be fine. Big breaths, slow breaths and then none, my best friend was gone. This was 6 months ago and he was right i am fine but I will never forget.

@@floseatyard8063 I always think of death as being under general anesthesia. It's not exactly a feeling, rather you just drift off into unconsciousness and that's it. You don't remember anything, or have any recollection of what just happened. It's like doing a hard-boot on a computer or technological device. It's beautiful, time no longer has a hold of you. It could be a minute, it could be an hour, or several hours, but whilst you're unconscious it is instant. Like blinking. However, the difference with death is that all of your vital organs stop working, lungs, kidneys, all physical and psychological stimuli ceases to exist. So, in that regard, it's like not like being under anesthesia.. But who knows, one day we'll all experience death and it could be completely different from anything that we could've imagined.

Something that has never made sense to me is my complete indifference to the subject of death. Ive never had to come to terms with mortality, thinking about death triggers no fear or curiosity in me even in the slightest. Death has never been something that has ever had an impact on me. When i lose people close to me, of course im sad. However, a week later ive completely accepted they are gone and move on. My parents used to comment how well i take passings and funerals. Again, never thought much of it. Every time ive ever been reminded of my mortality, ive thought "damn, what i have going on here isnt permanent...thats wild." And moved on like i never had the thought. Seeing death has never phased me, and ive had bad experiences with drugs to where i was convinced i was dying, and i was totally fine with it. I simply dont know why. What i just shared was nothing significant, i just always wonder why i think about life the way i do. Im a very happy person that enjoys life, maybe ill never look into it.

To remember them ? Well that’s what we have brains for we dont need to remember them. To mourn them ? Eventually like all things we get over rough patches through time, I said all of that to say this and I got 1 good question why do we bury our loved 1’s? Because 1 day for some reason we all feel like we can bring em back maybe not today, hell maybe not even in a lifetime but somewhere down this long time frame of Bullshit I believe we all will open our eyes and rise up out of our graves, I feel someone will eventually find a way to bring the dead back to life no zombie type shit though, we’ll be either bones or where we left off and the future of human species will be evolved to the point where we reattach missing limbs and flesh hell we already do that today, and if it’s none of that then I believe it’s an abyss of darkness or unconsciousness, and if it’s not that then it’s gotta be heaven or hell

You can’t explain your dreams to someone else in the room while your sleeping. Because you aren’t awake, you’re unconscious, and you can’t share your thoughts with a conscious person. My little brother just died outside in the cold by our backdoor, he overdosed around 2-3am and we found him around 9am the next morning. His face was grim, lips were blue and legs bent stiff as his hands grabbing his chest as he most likely collapsed from a heart attack overdosing and realizing it was too late before he could make it inside for help. I lived across the street woken up from my nephew pounding my door and yelling frantically saying something about lips being blue and wasn't sure what was going on or what to think but just ran to my parents house seeing my mom crying over his body and was just in disbelief screaming his name and thought to do CPR but realized he was actually dead. His name was Eric Martinez and he was only 24, just had a kid 4months old and we thought he was doing better working and quitting drugs but it was too late.. I'm still in disbelief and not sure what to think or do, it was the first time I've seen a dead body and it was my little brother.. I read people talking about how peaceful death can be, but for my little brother's death it was very sudden and painful in so many ways knowing he wasn't ready to go.

From my own experience, as well as most near death experiences I've read, death itself is actually painless and soothing. I did experience feelings of pain, confusion, fear, panic, terror...then indescribable bliss and peace. No fear. No pain. Such exquisite feelings that words can never describe. It was this huge... release(?) I cannot describe it, but somehow the process(journey) erased/cancelled/absorbed/embraced ALL the emotions. My death was observed by family, and they only saw the fear and pain. I can only recall *thinking* I was hurting or scared, but as if I were observing it. I know those were genuine emotions, but they became part of the most beautiful experience of love I've ever felt. Which somehow transformed even the terror into a tiny but very important element of Bliss. My last conscious thoughts and feelings were of Love. I was screaming "I LOVE YOU DADDY!!!" as I died. They said I was crying, and I was. Not from pain or fear, as it appeared to them. I was crying with joy, because love... Love was so overwhelming. My poor family believed I was suffering horribly. The (ugly) physical manifestations of death do not reflect the (beautiful) experience of the soul. For me, the ugly and the beautiful melded into Love. I truly believe your brother experienced everything he needed in this life, in order for his spirit to be ready to return to Love/Bliss/Source. After that, who knows? Trust the journey, love and forgive your people, honor your life ❤️

The ending reminds me of my dog, and when she died. At that moment in life, she was my closest friend. I remember coming home from school, and sitting down with her. She was paralyzed from the neck down, so I just sat there. Later that night we were going to put her to sleep; the vet closed at 8, so I knew how much longer I had. At some point I thought about going upstairs and playing video games, but then I realized I had a limited amount of time with her, and she spent all day alone. So I stayed; made sure she knew she wasn’t alone. My brother and sister both had their own ways of morning. The hardest part was seeing my brother give her a simple “bye” like it wasn’t the last time he’d see her, even though he knew he wouldn’t. We carried her to the car, brought her to the vet, and I laid there next to her. Her final breath was exchanged for a last kiss for me. Then she passed. Coming home felt… off. I have one very vivid memory with me and my grandfather.. He was going to pass within the next few months and my dad wanted to visit him as much as possible before it happened. The last time I saw him, we all went to his house to visit him and I was the only one brave enough to go in to see him first. I held his hand and started talking to him, shakily, and he responded as if everything was normal. He was so tired he fell asleep in the bed with me right next to him, and he was still holding my hand. He didn't pass right then, but I thought he did and I wanted to break down crying but I didn't want to get go. I was 11. I miss you Grandpa

I’ve realized that death is inevitable for years down but watching this, and other similar videos, I can’t help but cry about how are limited time may be all that we get, we still don’t know what comes after dark… and that… that is what makes me scared, to lose those I love, and to lose the moments I missed. This is why today… today is the day I truly have been born, today is the day I realize that I need to spend the time that I have doing the things I love with the people I love. I’m still young, and that’s what counts. If you are in a similar boat, spend what you have with those you love, because both yourself and them are on a timer, and once that timer ends… well… we don’t know what happens next…

The master I practice Zen meditation with (Zazen) says this about death: "Imagine a wave that lives under the illusion that it is separate from the ocean. it believes it can decide it's own height, it's speed, it's direction. It asks itself whether it will live on, one way or another, after it crashes on the shore, or if it will return to the ocean. And you could say it returns to the water, BUT it already was the water! It was never something separate, from the ocean, from the water, from the other waves. when it was born, it was not born. when it crashed, nothing was lost." I thought this might be interesting to some.

One can reach the same experience (or conclusion) through the practice of science and mathematics. The practitioners of many cults of mysticism, and Zen in particular, reached a high conclusion independent of reductionism. Their experiences are undoubtedly influencing the evolution of Western science, for the best. It's an exciting time to be a scientist.

Experiencing a life flash is probably one of the strangest and most wonderful thing i’ve ever experienced and i will never forget it. When i was 8 i was at a swimming camp, our supervisor would play this game with the floating boats, everyone (about 6 kids could fit on one) would sit on it and the supervisor would then flip the boat so all the kids would fall in the water. On my second time of being flipped off the boat my head got trapped under it and all the kids quickly got back on the boat with my head still under it. I dont know why i tried lifting the boat with zero support under my feet except water but i did and after about 25 seconds of panicking and trying to lift the boat i felt weak, with every passing second i was loosing energy i thought i was about to die, i felt my eyes get heavy and suddenly i say this flashes of the most random memories i didnt know i had in my brain; from my brother teaching me good lessons; my dad teacher me how to ride my bike and when i first got it; my mom making me her delicious monster cookies; my brother getting stuck in a tree; my oldest brother coming back home from his first year of college; me accidentally stepping on my cats tail and him hissing at me. After i saw those visions and many more my vision slowly turned black, but then my eyes flashes open and my brain told me to push the bottom of the boat so i could swim from under it. Everything happened faster then it sounds and i remember when i got back to the surface i took a glance at my supervisor and she didnt even notice i was under water or that i disapeared. I felt very pissed at her as i quickly swam to the edge to catch my breath. Ever since that ive been kinda scared of going in deeper water and always freak out if i cant touch the ground, but i also am no longer scared of death, because yes it was terrifying to almost drown but i know that’s probably not going to be my end and the visions were very comforting which is why i didnt notice i was drowning until my vision was going black. This was way longer then i wanted it be😅😅

All fears connect back to death so the fear of deep water is because of how it might hurt or kill you, or the unknown that you can't see under you. So yeah you are still scared of death lol. Interesting story though.

YES! I experienced something similar when I was younger. When I was 11-ish, I was doing swimming lessons, and It was my 1st time going into the middle end section of the water. When I first got in I remember telling my teacher that I felt it was too deep for me. She kept pushing me to start swimming right away, and I started crying and asked her if I could sit on the side, and she let me. 10 minutes later I got a rush of confidence so I back in and decided to start swimming straight away. Can only remember vividly but I must’ve realised I actually couldn’t do it, panicked, and started drowning. I remember before coming back to consciousness, it felt like I had been dreaming. I was viewing my whole life, especially the good memories, in just a few seconds, like a quick montage, lol. It was crazy.

I never truly believed in the idea of having a soul until my dog passed away. She was my best friend and at the time, she felt like the only thing I had to talk to. She was always there for me when I needed to just rant to any eye that would catch mine or hug something or be comforted. In her last years, she would even sit outside my window every day when I wasn’t outside with her. She was such a big part of my life for 14 years, and when she passed I wasn’t there for her final moments, which has always been one of my biggest regrets. I went home knowing she would be put down, but my dad had told us it would happen the next day in order to keep us from that last tragic memory, so we were not there when it happened. I thought I had time until my father informed me she had passed that night. I felt like I had failed her, not being a comfort to her until the very end. I took this news very rough, and the following few days were hard for me to bear without her. One night, at most three days after her death, I was going to sleep one night and as I closed the door, I felt this overwhelming presence like my dog was there in my living room and I was shutting her out. It felt so strong to me like nothing I’d ever felt before. I can hardly explain it in words, but essentially it kinda felt like I felt guilt for closing the door on her knowing she was there watching me do it. I immediately started to sob and opened the door. She had a favorite spot in our living room where she could see my door from, and immediately I was drawn to it. Once I sat there, I felt calmness. Everything just felt okay. It’s like she was there with me, comforting me like she always had before and telling me that it was okay. To me, it felt like she was forgiving me for not being with her in those final moments, and letting me have our own final moments before passing on. I’ll never forget that day or that feeling. That was proof enough to me that we have souls and that there is some semblance of an afterlife. Dogs are so special, man.

This was lovely to read. I got my first dog 2 years ago and the joy that he has brought to me and my family is indescribable. I see dogs as living proof of God's unconditional love for us, as I always feel that same love when I walk into the house and he runs up to me with nothing but joy and excitement. I believe our purpose is to realize that this same love is deeply inside of us and core to our being so that we may freely give it to others, even in the simplest of ways (saying hello, asking how their day is going, a compliment, etc.). Such small acts can be transformative for, not only the recipient, but the giver. Give life as freely as it has been given to you.

When I was 10 years old, I fell unconscious in my moms car from asthma asphyxiation. Idk if passing out for 2-3 days counts as a near-death experience, but all I saw was, blackness. The entire time. It felt as if time wasn’t real because the next thing I knew was that I lay awake in a hospital bed. Apparently I rode in a helicopter to get to the hospital I needed to, but I would’ve never known if my mom hadn’t told me. Thinking back at it, it kinda terrifies me, because I really don’t want death to be like. Im not a very religious individual, but I have been trying them out as of recently, and I really enjoy there views on life and death. Afterlife, reincarnation- hell, if my soul energy could just be recycled back into the universe I would be happy. Because it isn’t death that scares me, it’s what comes after it. I have much time still left for me considering the fact I am only 15 years old, however the fact I’m going to have to leave this place that has held the entirety of my existence including everything I love not only terrifies me, but makes me immensely depressed. I’m quite sure the concept of religion was created as way for humans to cope with their self awareness, but even with pondering the options of afterlife with certain religions, I still find a ting of existence unsurance in my gut. It’s a deep pain that I know I have to cope with, but sometimes it just hurts to know that all my hard work to keep myself together and to be there for my loved ones all come to a waste in the end. Being a logic dependent person, finding religion to turn to can be a bit difficult at times. Sometimes my logic dependent side can get to me at times and does make me feel like all my different actions, attachments, and emotions are just the biological factors of being human. I really want to have a soul. I really want it to be real. And I really hope it is. Whether I end up in heaven or hell, reincarnated in a separate form, or recycled back into the universe, I still want to be useful. I do try my best to have some sort of moral to live by because I do feel as if it brings clarity to this chaotic mind I have to live with. If it does end up being a hoax, I guess all we can really strive to live for is to make things better for others. So positive energy can be passed on to pass on more “good vibes”. I guess I can always live on that, but I can’t say it is quite as fulfilling as my other course of actions.

I feel like my last thoughts will be my own version of this monologue, and every time I'm connecting with nature, family, something meaningful or beautiful to me, sometimes I can't help but remember the monologue and at the same time that it makes me cherish the moment even more, there's a bit deep down in me that wonders what the point of all of this is anyways if all those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain... Time to die.

We live in a material world witch is designed to bring us sorrow and unhappiness and when we are happy it is only temporary , but actually the point of all of this the cycle of birth and death and making memories and then losing them in time is so that we may attain a more higher and more elevated consciousness so we can step out of the small circle that we live in and embrace a higher purpose . We are all in search of permanent happiness or maybe find a permanent purpose that gives you a sense of happiness “that YES now I’m truly at peace”. But the reason we keep seeking and seeking all these answers is because of our material desires. We can never find permanent happiness though our material desires same thing with finding out why all this happens what is the purpose of death if you search for a Material answer to this question you’ll never find it. You can only attain this answer though spiritual knowledge When you are afraid of death you make bucket list but if you accept death then you will truly be at peace Actually we never die we are not the body we are the soul, and the soul is ever lasting

“To perceive that form reveals the void, and to see that the void reveals form, is the secret for the overcoming of death. To the extent that one is unaware of space, one is unaware of one's own eternity - it's the same thing. Death is the end of physical existence, but the begging of spiritual existence. My guess is that is what death is like. It was fine, no worries, no regrets, no "going into the void" because when you don't exist you can't feel, think, or go anywhere. Now of course, I didn't die, but to suggest that more happens when you are actually dead seems irrational. I don't fear not existing, after all, I did it for billions of years before I was born.

I was put under general anesthesia for a major surgery. You just go off. Know nothing, feel nothing, I mean, absolutely nothing! However, i think death itself can only be explained by those that have experienced it but unfortunately they can't speak.

The topic of death makes me feel emotions that nothing else on this world can. The thought of building such a relationship with something just for it to be taken away and now only you hold those precious memories that you shared together. Being unable to relive the past or reminisce in what once was, is crushing. You'd trade the world just to be with them again, but you cant do anything. You feel regret for not cherishing life more and powerless at the fact that it's over, can't be undone. I haven't experienced a close death yet but i know that nothing can prepare me for how i'll feel afterwards. ❤

If you were dead and somehow, someone was able to described life to you, you would be terrified. Just as terrified as you would be if someone described death to you. You wouldnt want to go, you wouldnt want to be born, just like noone wants to die. We are resistant to change and it scares us, but we will be fine in the end.

My grandparents practically raised me, I was closer to them than my parents. I'll never forget the day when I was 6-7 and realised for good that someday they'll be gone and I'll never see them again. I cried and sobbed all afternoon because I couldn't grasp this thought. I remember this as something traumatic because I never feared death so much as when I was a small child, never felt so powerless before it, and not for me but for my loved ones.

Me personally, every time I remember something it’s always in the third person, I always see myself running around or whatever it is, it’s so weird cause I remember to the must minimal detail, it’s like something was watching me, and I’m seeing it through there eyes

Reflection is truly key. Humanity should dare to look deep within, but it should also accept that more than mere physical Reflection is required for true, celestial enlightenment. "Before I start, I must see my end. Destination known, my mind's journey now begins. Upon my chariot, heart and soul's fate revealed. In Time, all points converge; hope's strength resteeled. But to earn final peace at the Universe's endless refrain, we must see all in nothingness... before we start again." 🐲✨🐲✨🐲✨ --Diamond Dragons (series)
