You know if your a Commissar and assigned to the Death Corp you drew the short straw. Instead of motivating troops, you have to keep these hard ass from throwing their lives away, for nothing. Also have to keep the D.C. from getting into it with those not so devoted Regiments.

The "I forgive you" quote is from Baldemort's Krieg video. Yes, First video of the series...a 43 Part Series. Arch is an absolute Mad Lad. Arch Tells. Baldemort shows. His video cavers about as much as this portion of Arch's but narrates it beautifully as events happened. From the schemes of the noble houses to the reaction of generals given command of these madlads. And ends with the bone chilling 'I forgive you.'

Krieg rebelled against the Imperium long after the Heresy. Also the Imperium is absolutely lousy with rebellions. It kinda sucks living under it, so people are constantly getting angry about a million potential reasons to rebel. As such, the Imperium is constantly having to spread its armies thin between actual threats from stuff like aliens or chaos and backtracking to reconquer their own planets who secede. Sometimes, like with Krieg, there just aren't the resources to spare to put down a rebellion and a treasonous planet can simply be ignored and go free for potentially centuries until they can finally deal with it, if not forever. There plenty of human worlds that are independent of the Imperium simply because they couldn't deal with it at the time and it's been so long that they've been forgotten about in the deluge of other fires the Imperium is constantly having to put out.

That and most of the worlds who would successfully overthrow Imperial rule were immediately either destroyed and or taken over by Xenos or Chaos. Would be kind of difficult to take back a world claimed by Orks or devoured by Tyranids. Waste of resources, and a good kick in the balls to any rebellion that went against the Imperium. Basically a message that states if you're against the Imperium, then have fun fighting alone against the rest of the galaxy.

At the point of them fighting on an irradiated hellscape, they were ABSOLUTELY wearing gas masks, otherwise fighting on the surface would have been impossible.

3:35 the revolt on Krieg actually takes place in 433 M40. 600-800 years before the current date in setting. 9:33 the imperium didn’t send help because they were to busy to divert the resources it would take to reconquer a wealthy hiveworld. They intended to come back to it at a later date. 14:42 that art is most likely of the siege of Vraks 18:43 the imperium is fond of secretly stashing weapons under key worlds for various reasons.

9:32 the main reason why reinforcements were not being sent was that to Krieg they were highly successful. To the Imperium they were average with no significant strategic value. The Imperium would eventually have sent a force to reconquer the planet but it was a low priority for Segmentum command to mobilize an Imperial guard army to retake one world in revolt versus other more pressing conflicts. Krieg is also close to the imperium's core worlds and therefore well within striking distance of any imperium forces so if they became a problem eventually it wouldn't have been that hard to react to the conflict escalating.

People make fun of them for being one of the most depressing regiments/legions there is. The first being the lementers, since they never got a break and was accused for being heretics despite knowing their only friends in the imperium (which is the ultramarines) who went heretic. It was a single ultramarine legion but every one other then the ultramarines to a certain extent in the imperium doesn't trust that specific legion what so ever

Chapter. The Legions were broken up into Chapters after the Heresy. And it was the Astral Claws Chapter, not the Ultramarines. Furthermore, the Astral Claws are supposedly descended from the Ultramarines, but it's long been speculated that the reason the Ultramarines were the largest Legion before, during and after the Heresy is because they adopted elements from other Legions, including the Lost Legions and the surviving Loyalist elements of the Traitor Legions. It's also noted that the Mechanicus does occasionally mess around with Traitor Gene-Seed during their experiments around each Founding. Because of that, it's been theorized that the Astral Claws might actually be descended from the Luna Wolves/Sons of Horus...

Congrats on the new hair style dude! Looks pretty good on you. The gas masks came on as soon as the nukes launched. :D And their mentality and suicidality was not present before Krieg became nuclear, it is a learned behavior from their 500 year war. The events of Krieg's civil war took place a several thousand years after the Horus Heresy. And the cesationists from Krieg were, put simply, wiped out by the loyalist elements over the course of the 500 years. I'm glad to see you reacting to Arch's vid. I sincerely look forward to you also checking out his videos on the Mordian Iron Guard and the Maccabian Janisaries.

14:40 no titans on krieg at this time as all the titans of a titan logion would either be on Campine or back that their home forge word getting restocked on ammo or getting any damage repaired and krieg is a Armory world not a forge world

small forces can definitely cause a lot of disruption for a larger force but when they need to hold ground, or have a specific defensive objective, and the enemy isnt crippling themself with a dumb military doctrine like proportional response that makes a small force a lot less viable

To answer your question when they put the gasmasks on. The day the nukes turned their planet into a poisoned radioactive hellhole. After 500 years the gasmasks have become such a part of their culture the troops don’t remove the gas masks even when not in active combat. It’s practically a second skin to them.

The best story about the death krops of krieg is hands down the siege of vraks. Arch allso has a series of videos about it. I dont know if it woud be a good series to follow as reaction videos. "Its quite long" but it is one of the most interesting stories and provide a grate example of how the imperium worst enemy is the imperium itself. And allso a grate example of how a chaos works and a minor cult in a backwhater fortress world can escalate to becone a major thorn on the imperium.

you're average IG regiment usally clock around 1 million souls. Krieg had 20 such regiments ready for shipping immediatly, furthermore, due to the attrition tactics prefered by the Death Corps of Krieg, their regiment are inflated to account for future losses. The Imperium just got 30 MILLIONS guardsmen dropped onto their doorstep with a note stating "hurt me daddy" and the guns to match ! calling it a boner doesn't make justice to how they must have felt indeed ;7

I've watched this whole series, and the amount of lore put into this one battle is insane. I would only recommend watching though if you really really love 40k lore, because it's like 45 hours of lore and is probably way too long.

The Kreig developed the cult of sacrifice after the war started. Kreig are cool I like the Tanith First and Only, Elysian drop troops, Harkoni Warhawks, Cadians, and Mordians more but they are all cool.

There is a book "Dead Man Walking" about how Necrons tomb was activated right in the hivecity from civilian perspective. There were Krieg Death Korps deployed, This mofos literally bayonet charge a necron warriors so the other soldier can have time to shoot him with melta gun. Bayonet charge a terminator fully know that you are going to die while dealing close to none damage yourself just so other soldier have a chance to succeed.

Archs stuff is well researched and presented, he's a good scholar on 40k lore and is fairly well known in the community. So were his personal political views, which is why he fell out of favour. He scrubbed his channel and other social media but only after being called out. Major Kill, another 40k 'tuber, did a video on it if you've any interest personally.

What the Imperium call a regiment is more the size of a modern division. Watch the video #5 in the Vraks serie to get a better idea of the real size.

Yes there are stories of kriegers going up against pretty much everything and getting shit done. and the traitors are all dead is the general consensus, but a small pocket somewhere underground that may have been some how cut off from the wider world and forgotten about may some how get uncovered at some point or dig themselves out to try and survive some how. oh and yeah krieg was over centuries formed into a paradise or pleasure planet before the fall and 500 years war on it, so the culture was forged by the war into something new entirely.
