Have you sir considered that Jesus was directing his disciples with those words? Even they were restricted of their earthly wants if their first and foremost goal wasn't the kingdom of God.
Thanks for your comment, but it seems to me that your comment is a perfect example of what I talk about in the video: that Christians quickly ignore the issue at hand, and deflect by talking about off-the-point truisms. Of course Jesus was directing his apostles in how to think. Of course we are all restricted in our earthly wants. That’s not the point. The issue is whether God grants petitionary prayers. Whether Jesus’s word about prayers being granted is true, or, is an untrue overstatement.
@@2994485 The issue with both atheists and christians is that they pick separate verses in order to make their case. Mortal Jesus taught the coming of the kingdom of God and the commandments given to Moses wherever he ministered. His teachings and blessings are addressed to the accepting recipients of those two concepts. I can claim that a christian that can't move mountains by faith does not have the kingdom and the commandments at heart. I can claim that, that certain teaching is addressed solely to the disciples. I can also claim that their faith will be able to move mountains (and do greater signs than He) once they acquire a body made of water and spirit (at resurrection). We can claim falsehood of the scribes penning or copying the new testament writings also.
