You took the words right out of my mouth. I feel so bad for Debra. Losing Sharon to such a brutal, senseless murder was bad enough. Then she lost her mom to brain cancer. Then her other sister died of breast cancer at the young age of 40. Eventually her father died several years ago. Debra has suffered so much loss. Give that poor woman a break.
She said it took away her mother.. :( My mother became mentally ill. After my older brother died. It devastates a family. This family is extraordinary in their strength and advocacy. 🕊🙏🏻
Doris Tate became extremely depressed and stayed in bed for ten years. Both Patti and Debra lost their mother until it was known that the killers could apply for parole and be released. That news revived her and got her involved with the rights of crime victims and making sure the killers stayed where they belonged.
in 1988 my friend was a bar bouncer and shot to death. within 10 months, my stepmom was killed in her bed in Amarillo and my elderly uncle was stabbed to death by a crackheads for $14! this woman and Doris Tate- were my inspiration. I worked hard to keep my stepmom's Killer behind bars. he died last spring in a Texas prison at age 71 and my uncle's Killer, Richard Bayes is going gray on death row in an Ohio prison. God bless Doris Tate- and her wonderfully strong daughters. and R.I.P. Chuck Weaver, Lois Bell and Randy Banker. I will always love you!!
Marcia Hooley Seeing this a year after you shared. I know your pain & sorrow no less than the day you wrote this. My thoughts & prayers go out to you & your family! 💕
In November is van Houten 's next parole. I will write again to the Govenor and ask to let her in, as Doris once asked us to do. It is all we can do today to help the innocent victims, if murdered or if their dear ones. Please, if possible, join! You find a dresses and even letters and mails for your use at Google, Facebook, etc. Muss Tate makes it very easy to join. Thank you, dearest Lady 🙇
Go, Debbie, Go!!!! Stand up for your beautiful big sister and defend the Tate family name and legacy, Girlie!!! I am 190% on your side and if you or ANY of your remaining family members ever read this, then know that your gorgeous late big sister still has fans, and that your whole family can go on knowing that her death and her friends' deaths were NOT in vain. And by the way, Ms. Tate, you are so spot on when you said on the interview that you can feel people and what they stand for, even if you're only just sit next to them, and I now firmly believe, LOOK IN THEIR EYES. THE EYES ARE THE WINDOWS TO THE SOULS. I might be wrong, but I strongly might not be as well. Team Tate Forever!!!
@@because0011 A good strong lovely family my God! what a blessing comment.A No mercy family is the same as Manson family indeed! & No mercy mentalety is not a christian value.
I am in awe of Debra Tate! Can't even imagine every few years Ms. Tate has to deal with those parole hearings! That is cruel and unusual punishment for her to continue to endure!
Yes, they were. Look up Debra now. She's had some major work done on her face, I guess for her book signing tour. Looks really good, but, from the pictures I've seen, she looks NOTHING like she did in this clip. Doesn't even look like her former self. In the pictures I've seen, she's lost that "Tate" look that all the girls had.
ProudKansan08, that's called getting old. Debra is 65 and has cancer. Cancer treatment has all kinds of side effects. Sharon herself would have been 75 now. Nobody knows how Sharon would have looked today but her cover girl days would have been far behind her. That's just the way life is.
All three beautiful inside and out. Their hair. Their eyes. Their facial features. The Tate women are extraordinarily beautiful and, even better, are very beautiful souls.
All these negative comments about Debra Tate are horrible. She is not seeking fame from her sisters death. She is not trying to be in movies or record music. She is standing up for her beloved sister who was innocent and pregnant when these evil devils broke into her home and strung her up like an animal and tortured her to death. Yes, we all have lost family members but extremely few of us will know the nightmare of having a family member viciously slaughtered. Analyze Debra Tates motives all you care too but it's clear that her only motive is the keep the evil Manson devils in prison where they belong. As for a her views on Roman Polanski, well, that's purely incidental. It has nothing to do with the love she had for her sister and the Manson case. Personally, I don't agree with all that she says, but she has more than enough right to be out there speaking and doing what she can. She's very brave I believe.
swampzoid Your right about that this crime was horrific and the whole famlily was traumatized by this b/c of all the sick rumors and they will never get over this b/c it will do down in their family for generations and Debra is brave*** VERY BRAVE*** Orginally it was Terri Metcher Doris Days son that the manson family was going after they went to the wrong house I wish Sharon Tate was alive today! She was so beautiful****
Miss Malibu California. I agree with you and swampzoid. Debra has said repeatedly that Manson has more followers now over the internet than in 1969. Some of these Manson followers post negative comments on this and other such pages. Other people posting on different sites are those who believe Tex Watson is now a minister and have joined his church. They believe God forgave Tex because he says so. As if someone who could torture and murder 7 people without an afterthought would not lie about this.
lee Anton. His first known victim, Samantha Geimer does have children. Don't misunderstand me, I'm no fan of Roman Polanski. Personally I would have been happier had Sharon been in London on August 9, 1969 and Roman had been at the Ciello Dr house.
I feel bad for Debra. her whole life has been dedicated to parole hearings and following what the killers. I feel like she has allowed them to take her life too.
Her whole life? No. She never had any involvement in this until her sister, who picked up the torch when their mother died, passed. She was not close with Patti or Doris, lying to Patti about making her an appointment with a cancerspecialist only for Patti to be turned away after a 3 hour drive. But her defense of a rapist and insulting his victim is why so many dislike her. Saying she isn't a "real victim of rape" as if to justify her ex brother in law drugging and raping her both anally and vaginally.
Paul O'Brien. Debra is involved now when she is alone with no family support. She has to go to parole hearings with greater frequency as time goes on. She is subject to threats by Manson supporters. It doesn't matter what she did when her mother and sister were alive, the important thing is she is involved now.
Paul O'Brien what proof do you have of that. I saw many pictures of Debra with her family, for example Debra & Pattie at Pattie’s wedding (wich Doris had framed on her drawer next to Sharons photo on the wall) and also some where Doris is smiling with Debra at her wedding and with PJ walking Debra down the aisle smiling. In one interview Doris is asked about Debra & Pattie and the possibility that she could’ve lost 2 daughters. And Doris talks about that she thought about that & even gives a glimpse of how it affected both girl’s lives & how protective of their children they are. You all attack Debra. You don’t even know what has been going on. She was close to her family. Proof: she posts pics of them, she talks about them on interviews. She even posted on father’s day & sisters day pictures where she honored them. In a recent interview she went to the cemetery with flowers to lay on her family’s grave & talked to them. She said that she loved them all and while crying said that she missed every single one of them. Nobody says anything about Pattie not talking about Debra. Because Debra & Pattie’s relationship is private. Its their thing. Every bond has troubles, but Debra stated herself that she had a loving bond with Pattie & was Maid of Honor at her wedding as was Pattie at Deb’s wedding. Pattie, her ex-hubby & children even lived with Debra at one point (Debra’s ex-hubby can account to that). There’s no proof why she wouldn’t have been close. The only proof there is is that Debra was close with mother & sister & father. Leave her alone. She is doing something good for society. She is keeping those monsters behind bars. If she wasn’t close to her family as you claim, than she wouldn’t have picked it up after Pattie died. Maybe the sisters made a deal. That Pattie wanted to do it & Debra maybe already had a child & was busy with that or wanted live her life, wich is her right & pick it up when either of her family members leave it to her or die. It doesn’t matter when she picked it up, it matters that she in fact picked it up. So stop bashing her
I support you 100% Debra Tate. These evil devils should not come out. Let dem rotten in the prison cells. keep stand up for your Sister and her unborn child and rest of the 6 otheres.
Poor Debra. She lost her sisters, her Mom and her Dad. Her Dad lost his 2 daughters and his wife before he passed. It’s sadistic to put these victims’ families though the heinous torture of parole hearings. It certainly has shortened the victims’ families lives. They’ve been through too much already.
Don't forget that Sharon Tate was almost ready to give birth. Her baby was murdered. The destruction of this human life is often overlooked by the media.
At least before this horrific incident, Debra, Patti and Doris had good memories of Sharon, and that Sharon did have a wonderful and successful life, as short as it was cut--It's sad that Debra is the only one left.
I don't necessarily agree with her decision to do pictures for playboy because had it not been for her sisters death she wouldn't have gotten the opportunity...
Hard to believe these mass murderers who tortured multiple victims are allowed parole hearings. Like Doris Tate said directly to Texas Watson at a parole hearing, "who would want to live next door to you? "
Thank you for your candidness, Debra. It does matter very, very, much. The unmerciful anguish your family endures should not ever be dismissed in favor of freedom for these murderers unless they can resurrect your sister and her friends and erase all memory of the crime and its unmerciful emotionally turbulent aftermath. I do not even understand the question: "Why does it matter so much?" Time does not erase your pain, nor restore what future your family would have had getting to know and love its new little member.
Respect for the hag that babbles about how Polanski is not a rapist because in her words "It was a consensual matter. I am a victim's advocate, and I know the difference"? Face it, Sharon's murder was the best thing that could happen to her-she would never have been famous on her own.
christinaddesign1 what talent? She was a pretty face who couldn't act-her films proved that. Polanski was already bored with her-cheating on her in london. As for manson, you know clem has been out since 1985, right? And that charlie didn't actually kill anyone? Meanwhile debra defends a child rapist who admits to his crime.
I can't imagine having to relive this nightmare over and over.....to be honest I don't know if I could do it. Debra Tate is a very strong woman and her mother was a courageous fighter for the victims rights.
There is raw footage of sharon hanging out with friends 'Sharon chillin' and like Debra says she was always 'hanging' out with Sharon. You can see young, red headed Debra in the tape on the premise, just like she says. She always goes back to how close she was to Sharon. Sad.
Sheryl St. Germain You conspiracy theory people crack me up and I’m often curious what other kooky shit you guys are into. 9-11 truther? Flat-earther? QAnon? David Icke? The murders weren’t some grand staged plot. They really happened. Leslie, Tex, Pat, Bruce, and Bobby really are in prison for the crimes they committed. That said, Debra seems to sometimes like to exaggerate. There are definitely some unhinged people out there who idolize and worship Manson and his memory, but lots of them ready to strike again? Doubtful.
The whole event is sad, very sad. At the time I remember 3 girls just marching along to court and singing without a care in the world. The horror of it as it unfolded showed something a bit more pronounced than the times of the 60's warranted. this was clearly a crminal act that the media didn't deal with correctly.
@Sheryl St. Germain Patty was born in 1957. She was nearly 14 years younger than Sharon Tate. Debra Tate was the one 9 years younger than Sharon. Patty died from breast cancer at the age of 42 in 2000.
@Sheryl St. Germain You are rambling on about absolutely nothing and then your statements seem to make you an unstable conspiracy nut weirdo! Get lost.
I am in awe of how courageous Debra is in going to the parole hearings of her sisters murderers. It's an ordeal that her mother and sister Patti also bravely faced. All of them were well spoken, gutsy women, whose lives were devastated by the Murders.
You should all listen to Debra's podcast interview with Jillian Barberie from about a year ago. It is outrageous how long it took for Sharon's family to get details from authorities the morning after the crime. Her mom was falling apart, her dad wasn't in town, her little sister was a child. Debra spent all day finding out what could and being pro-active.
Wow Debra!!! I didn't realize until after seeing this video how these horrible murders deeply, profoundly and permanently affected you as well as your family members lives. You are as beautiful as your sister Sharon. May God keep you in peace as you keep on your mission to make certain that justice prevails.
God bless Doris Tate and the rest of her family for keeping those monsters in prison. Doris was a bad ass! Parole shouldn't have even been an option. They were all supposed to be dead for crying out loud!!
Doris Tate stated in In Her Own Words" that Debra Tate was planning to stay with Sharon "on that fateful night," but Sharon cancelled. she was tired. I don't understand the animosity directed at Debra Tate. She picked up the crusade that her mother initiated to keep those psycho killers in prison. The baton was passed to her after sister Patty had died.Even If Debra really did embellish her take on 1969 does it matter? It seems more appropriate to hate the Manson Family.
So true. And they had an amazing Mother who showed the way in making sure these monsters never got out. They were all common and average and amazing too. Good Southern family.
Debra Tate is my hero and I want to thank her for her wonderful job at keeping those monsters behind bars where they belong. If those Manson's monsters ever get out, they will kill again and that's for sure.
Mirquella, your comments echo mine...God bless the Tate family, and especially Debra who has the unenviable task of keeping those murderers to this day
JillBB54: I do pray for Debra and God bless her and her whole family for keeping us safe. She took on a hard job and I appreciate that. Can you imagine one of those monsters out in the streets?
Erik Exner: Yes she did. She helped binding them. She also held her while Ted stabbed her and then ran after Abigail and stabbed her many times. Pat is a vicious monster who was already a monster before Manson met her. Manson just brought up their true nature.
Dummy? Who is Ted? She did not tie up anyone. Tex Watson did. You need to learn the facts Or shut up!!!!!!!!!!!!! She is a wonderful woman I have know for over 35 years. No monster there. Witch.
Well! so far Susan Atkins died of brain cancer in 2009 and the infamous Charles Manson died in 2017 so there only 3 left Van Houton, Krenwinkle, and Tex. Tex is never getting out Susan Atkins implicated him as the killer of Sharon Tate when in fact she was lying, she initiated the first stabbs with the knife and Tex finished her off, back then it wasn't considered a double murder being that she was pregnant. They're all equally guilty of murder.
We may never know with certainty who initiated the first stabs, and nor does it matter so long as they stay in prison. Imagine living next door to Tex Watson or Susan Atkins. No one in their right mind would want that. Sharon was going to give birth in 2 weeks it should have been considered a double homicide back then as well.
Dear Debra,I was moved to tears by this. You and your family suffered a horrific loss with the murder of a beloved daughter and sister as well as others, and it moves me that all these years later, you are still fighting to keep these killers behind bars (as did your mother and sister Patty before you). God bless you and your family, and rest assured... God will pass judgment on these people who took so many innocent lives in August 1969.
Sharon is not doubt so very proud of her little sister Debra for what she has done and continues to do as the family advocate for both her and baby Paul Richard Polanski.
That beautiful family died so young. I hope Debra lives a long life full of love and good heath and i hope she out lives all those in prison for that crime
True. It was Debra's dream to follow in Sharon's footsteps had Sharon lived. Debra posed for Playboy as a young woman. Along with her nude images, and a provocative cover photo, a headline: Sharon Tate's little sister grows up. The Tate family was mortified. Hardly the sort of attention Doris or Patti would wish for considering their own efforts, and success, at passing legislation that allowed victims' families to testify at parole hearings, and to limit privileges to life-sentence inmates.
@laceydays1 Debra was supposed to stay with Sharon as per Doris Tate ( see "in her own words "here on you Tube.) on the night of the murders. Sharon being fatigued from her pregnancy cancelled out. It would have been an even worse trauma for the parents if two daughters were murdered. Debra putting herself in the lime light in order to keep psycho murderers who murdered her sister et al in prison is not a character flaw.
I Feel So BAD For All The Vicitms AND Their Family's.. I Just Cant Imagine the Pain of Loosing Someone in that Horrible Manner To Think of Your Sister Being Killed With Such Gruesomeness Its Just Horrible and Makes me Sad
Keith Morrison is a fucking GOUL!!! I remember him in the mid-1970's. He would work on "Canada AM", biding his time til he got a call from a U.S. station, then run down there, get fired, then return to Toronto, felling entitled to a "Spot on the air" while he sent out his next demo tapes. He was back and forth through out the 80's till he didn't need to come back "in between jobs" It's fitting that he is with MSNBC- The septic tank of so-called journalism!!
This was a good documentary. I'm glad that it focused on het life ,relationships, ,and her work in film.I wish she had made more films .I did see the "Wrecking crew" and" Valley of the Dolls"
God bless Debra and her family. They rose from this tragedy to fight for victim's rights. Still, no family should ever have to go through this. Shame on everyone who ever gave Manson and his idiots publicity and fame. Sharon and the other victims are the ones we should be thinking about.
Debra Tate is a liar. Her take on the summer of '69 has evolved over the years, and with each embellishment, she places herself more and more squarely into the action. The fact of the matter is that she did not spend time on Cielo Drive that summer other than one visit, shortly after Roman and Sharon moved in. She did not buy the inner tube Sharon used in the pool. She was not to sleep over that fateful night. All lies. She can only now make such statements now that Doris and Patti are dead.
There's just something about her that I've never liked. Sharon's mom, Doris and her other sister, Patti I thought were wonderful, strong women. This one just always struck me as wrong. For one thing, why did she never go to a parole hearing until after her mom and her younger sister passed away. And why has she always stood up for rapist Roman. Something just wrong about her.
Debra was forbidden by her family to speak publicly about Sharon's murder. It was Doris and Patti who set up the Tate foundation for victims and who campaigned so hard to limit privileges to life-sentence murderers like Charles Watson and Susan Atkins. Debra only began to come forward after the death of her mother and sister Patti.
GOD BLESS YOU DEBORAH THANK YOU FOR SHARING SHARON FOR ALL OF HER FANS IT WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE A CELEBRATION DAY FOR YOU SISTER EVERY YEAR ON HER BIRTHDAY KATHY EBERHARDT
I believe my dad was murdered. Nothing I can even do. It’s the past now. I just want to say to anyone who has lost a family member or a dear friend to violence, you’re not alone. Keep the beautiful memories you have always, not the bad ones.
JJ. Deena I remember when that happened I was 5 yrs old living in San Pedro there where hundred s of people standing on 25th. st. where your mother lived like a hundred police cars surrounded all the blocks from alma to like Walker i saw that start crying at 5 yrs old it freaked me out watching that sicko manson scared me I'm very sorry that such an unbearable thing like that happened to your sister and her unborn baby they are going to eternally pay for what they did when GOD THE FATHER comes back to wipe away the tears and destroy evil on this earth they will be destroyed . Debra your very strong at heart GOD has been at your side all these years to The End. You SHINE Like The SUN , Thank You, Debra GOD Bless. Jay J.
Those blood animals not only killed Sharon, Paul,Jay..etc. They killed..in some way..Doris Tate, Patty and her father. And the other victims family.BUT..they gave us a legacy..to fight against Evil.Debra is in that fight, I really hope she can win.Sharon was so beautiful ..as a person, that all this horrible crime seems incredible. She doesn,t deserve to be remembered for the night of August 9, 1969. She deserves to be remembered as a pure, lovely, beautiful human being. Oh God, how sad! Carlos
As for her posing nude It proves that the women that do pose nude are so much more than just a playmate Debra is just like her mother and sisters.I admire her very much.
If OUI magazine was willing to pay for and publish Debra's nude photos she obviously was also beautiful, despite all the negative comments. Personally I think it was a stupid thing for her to pose nude. This is what I call a youthful indiscretion. Stabbing someone over and over till their dead is not a youthful indiscretion, it is cold blooded murder!
@@sammoses3195 Sharon Tate posed for playboy, and that influenced Debra. At that time Playboy was purportedly a stepping stone to a great acting career.
My family had multiple Run ins with Manson and his tribe. We lived not far from Spahn ranch. I played around the place. I have my doubts about them being the only ones to be involved. Charlie was crazy . he never gave my father and grandfather any more trouble after a brawl. What of Roman?.....yeah....something was not right about him.
I personally couldn’t stand talking and doing interviews about it , Year in year out ! There seems to be no end to the tragedy that happened so long ago 😢
Yes, I can see your point. Sharon was remembered fondly by many, yet on her property that night, there were drugs, drug abusers, and Old Glory draped across the sofa like some sort of pall.
God Bless Debra Tate and her family, Roman, and the friends and families of all the victims, who have been dragged through the mud by fools and parasites, and taunted long after death by ghouls. What Debra and Doris and Patty and Col. Tate had to endure was crushing. I have gone through similar losses, and anyone who spins this tragedy, or spins the murderers in any way deserve a life of torture, pain, brutal loss so they will understand. No peace, forgiveness. Madness and evil deserve none.RIP.
Debra Sharon rimane nel cuore di tutti noi e di chi come me che le vogliamo un mondo di bene per sempre per me rimane una tristezza infinita prego sempre per lei
