Thanks for this!🎣. One of the best trolling videos I’ve ever seen. Do my fishing in Florida in December. Nothing to do till June and October for my Muskie trips. 👍
Glad you enjoyed it! I have to say I was very lucky to capture footage of that fish. This is perfect example of active musky that is determined to get the lure :)
Can't tell you how many I've caught the exact same way - thinking I have weeds or something wrong with my lure so reel in quickly, only to get a nice strike before I get the line in!
Actually, this footage was recorded 2nd time I was using underwater camera. I think I was lucky with that shot :). Have a good time at Kagamaga. Greetings to Dave and others.
Man, I have that exact perch lure, hilarious that its still being made, it sits in the mouth of the 40lb musky my dad caught in the 80s that hangs on the wall.
Thanks. I am sure there will be better and better cameras available in the future to capture moments like this one. It is not too often that muskies are so eager and determined, and I was lucky to get one on the camera.
What UW camera are you using on the line? Goes to show you, seen it many times, banging rocks with lures when trolling triggers strikes. Works for me all Musky season long, spring, summer, fall.
I am using water wolf 1.1 camera. Absolutely agree with you on triggering the fish by banging rocks. I am relatively new to musky fishing, caught my first musky in 2015, but seeing how this fish reacted was definitely an eye opener for me.
Ah, you mean Batman and Robin rig :) Actually it was very first time I was using that rig, too. I learned recently about it from my friend from Mississauga chapter of Muskies Canada, Bill "The Silver Fox", who came up with it and is catching lot of nice size fish with it... In order to be allowed in Canada, one hook (middle) has to be removed from both lures (max 4 hooks per rod). I am pretty sure I am going to use it next season :). I am glad you like the video.
Do it all the time on a 3-way swivel Down lure and trailer lure Very effective! Spoonpluggers all over the country run 3-ways Check local rules for hook limits. Have doubled many times. LM, SM bass and Pike have not doubled on a Muskies ...But I will!
I used Waterwolf UW 1.1 and kept lure maybe 1.5 - 2ft in front of lure. Unfortunatelly, this camera is discintinued, but good news is that version 2.0 of the camera has been recently announced. Has some very promising improvements, but didn't have a chance to test it yet.
I just searched up the cameras, and it seems they are not easy to find now. But, when I went to water wolf facebook page, they are saying that they discontinued old camera and expecting new version to be available soon. I can't wait for this, as I liked the old one (despite its flows)
The camera is Water Wolf 1.1. They are discontinued, but 2.0 is available in Europe, hopefully soon in North America too. There is similar camera from Aqua-Vu, but I haven't tried it yet. Rigging is simple. Just attach it to the end of the line and then lure to it.
