Hi GG, You're doing a great job. I found your channel just before my bar raiser round which I was able to identify after watching your video. Your videos really helped me to prep for my last round at Amazon and Yesterday I got my acceptance mail. Thanks!
Hi GG, You are really a great help for people who wanted to understand the Amazon interview concepts and the way you are explaining them is outstanding and really helps a lot!!. Keep going with the same spirit and educate us.
Hi GG!! Firstly, I want to thank you so much for your content. I don't think I could've prepared better for my interview without your advice! I just finished my first round for a Sr. Program Manager role and was asked tell me about yourself (chronological method into somewhat professional you). The recruiter did mention I displayed characteristics of all the LP's in my career walk through so I'm choosing to see at least that as a good sign. I was looking to really smash the Why Amazon response by embracing that specific unit's consumer and cultural impact but it was never asked! I wasn't able to talk about my love for the team's purpose and why specfically that team and Im wondering if I may have sold myself short by not being asked Why Amazon. Any thoughts? (I may also be overthinking haha)
Thank you 🙏🏻 for all your tips. Although I did not get the job with Amazon because I don’t think my future colleague liked me very much. I did get loads of job offers at other companies that use the STAR interview method thanks to your tips.
0:25 - 0:37; 0:45 - 1:20 That was insightful💡. I'm enjoying your videos. I plan on watching more. 0:41 Interestingly enough, _Work[ing] Backwards_ was the term I used to strike up a conversation with an L-Ambassador last week via WALKing backwards. In which she questioned my action but then responded with a delightful reaction with the slogan, _Work Hard, Have Fun and Make History_ . Well played.😏
Ugh, I feel so dumb. I had an interview for a technical role with a technical lead. I assumed I'd get technical questions. But I was only asked "tell me about yourself" and stories related to the leadership principles. I kind of panicked, didn't really answer the questions asked (!) and instead talked about why they should hire me/my value added. I was all over the map. Ugh...
@@amazoninterviewwhizzdayone503 Does Amazon keep a list of previous interviewees (and their scores)? Or do they assess applicants anew for each position?
@@anonanonymous1970 there’s a system called ATS it’s a database that holds records for all applicants and the data captured on them through all their interviews. It’s a complete and comprehensive history
@@amazoninterviewwhizzdayone503 Oh! Thanks for that information. So if you bomb one interview with Amazon, you probably won't get another one (or a job). Is that generally accurate?
Hi GG! Thank you for sharing such valuable details on how to prep for "Tell me about yourself". I have a 45 minute phone interview scheduled next week. This is for the role "Financial Analyst III". Please could you give me tips on how to prepare for it and also the next up-coming rounds?
I think I love you. If that was a bit much, I meant, thank you so much. If....when I get the apprenticeship, I will just be sticking with the first part.
Hi GG, love all your content and have been going through all your videos all week. I have my first telephone interview this week and wanted to ask you, “should I put so much studying into it or is it less formal than that?” Thank you in advance
Early rounds can go so many different ways. Some end up being really informal chats others are full on tech/behavioural interviews. No one ever regretted being over prepared.
@@amazoninterviewwhizzdayone503 completed it yesterday, think it went well. Your PROGRAM WAS SPOT ON!!!!!! regardless how it goes I want to thank you for what you do and how you are helping. Especially your question guide! When I say spot on , I mean SPOT ON! thank you and keep thriving .. the best $125 I’ve spent in a while. “Not all superhero’s wear capes!” Some are just wonderful British women with great RU-vid content ! :) stay blessed
Before answering it, Is it applicable to ask "May I ask what would you like to know about me in particular"? I love your videos Gg. Looking forward to acing my upcoming interview with your help.
Hi GG! First I just wanted to say, thank you for all your videos, they are really insightful and I am currently binging them ahead of my final interview next week. Secondly, I just got a LinkedIn message from an Amazon Manager who has offered to refer me for a role after seeing my profile. I mentioned that I am currently in the interview process and after verifying it was for a different team she confirmed that it was a different team and proceed with my referral which I am very grateful for. My question is whether I should mention it in my final interview next week? Thank you
Hi GG, your videos have been very helpful. I had a loop interview a couple months ago where they determined I was 'Amazon material' but not quite a perfect fit for the role. My recruiter mentioned they could use feedback from this loop to shorten the interview process for similar roles. Is there such a thing as a mini-loop?
@@amazoninterviewwhizzdayone503 Thanks, is this loop type common and do I need to remind the new recruiter this is an option? I had an automated phone interview request with the HM which was unusual not to have the recruiter reach out first. Only now was I put in contact with a recruiter after passing that round.
@@rmkz3965 I thinks it's probably worth sharing what the last Recruiter said to you. It's up to the new team if they want to cut the process short or not
Hi GG, thank you for the videos. I just wrapped up my 2nd ph interview for non tech Execution Program Management role. The interviewer was a few mins late (it was 9 am PT) call. He had not read my resume. The process started 10 mins in the call. He went all the way back to my 1st job, odd, given 10 mins had already been lost. No functional no behavioral questions were asked. It was all about what was the scope of your role, % time spent doing what responsibilities. My recruiter had told me it would be all behavioral which is what I had prepped for, so that’s interesting. The questions truly did not allow for story telling but explain me your role/responsibility question for 30 mins with just 1 employer. The interviewer gave me 5 mins to talk about current role, odd. I did ask him to clarify his questions throughout the process. The call ended ok. Also it was scheduled as a phone interview but the interviewer had their video turned on, so I went with it, was dressed alright hah! I’m not very hopeful at this time.
What can I say- there are bad interviewers in every company. I’m afraid the larger amazon gets the less rigour is going to be applied to maintaining training and compliance standards for interviewers. Sad but true. If you don’t make it past round 1 make sure you feed back to your Recruiter how far away from the expectations that were set, your experience was.
@@amazoninterviewwhizzdayone503 will do for sure. The sad part was he didn’t even have my resume accessible. I was asked to share my resume via the chat, while he looked on his side. For a candidate that spends hours prepping that experience is frustrating. I’m hoping that this doesn’t deter me from trying at other similar roles. Sorry if this sounds like venting a little.
@@amazoninterviewwhizzdayone503 hello Gigi, Amazon would like me to continue through the virtual loop. Recruiter told me there will be a shadower in one of my interviews during loop. What is the purpose of the shadower? How do I spot my bar raiser among the interviewers?
Hi GG, love your videos, very informative and have been learning a lot from you! Could you please let me know if we ask Amazon interviewers for 15-20 seconds to gather our thoughts for every question, will that be held against us? The reason I ask is because I have the loop round coming up next week and I have about 36 stories prepared with a lot of data and I might need few seconds to collect my thoughts before starting to answer their question.
Hello GG! I must say your videos are very inspiring ! i have a phone interview with the hiring manager tomorrow for an area manager role. do you have any advice or tips for what to expect or the questions that might be asked within the 45mins? I'm shitting myself!😢
I can't predict that for you I'm afraid. Each role has different key LPs and reach interviewer gets to choose the questions they want to ask (based on the key LPs). Good luck. Check out my video on nerves ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8Lm4pj-uAbY.html
Hi GG. Your videos are awesome and really helpful. I have my interview scheduled next week for the Catalogue Manager role. Request your guidance and if you could help me with the type of questions that I can expect.
Hi GIGI long time :) :) Thanks for all Videos are very inspiring, When the recruiter said " we should try to add Data As much as we can in L.P so here Data like evidence , report or what exactly she meant about it if you please
Hi GG, Thank you so much for all your videos. These are very helpful for interview preparation. I have an interview scheduled for Technical Recruiter role at Amazon. I have total two years of experience. Can you please provide some tips for a recruiter role interview ? Thanks in advance.
Gigi, I'm on contract right now with AWS. Getting ready to loop in at L6 as a Sr.Tech Recruiter. Interviewing with my current team, the team will know metrics prior to the interviewer. I'm struggling to decide % of LP answers that I should provide with current exp vs past exp.
Hi GG, thank you for your informative videos. I have an upcoming interview with Amazon for a L5 AWS Global recruiter role. Do you have any tips re top questions and questions relating to data. I have a HR background and recruitment is an area I have recently been heavily involved in. Thank you
There are no top questions for any job family. Interviewers ask their favourite/preferred questions from the AIQB (or make them up themselves). Questions are job family agnostic.
@Amazon Interview Whizz @ Day One Careers thank you, GiGi. I'm trying not to psych myself out with overthinking. This has been my dream job for quite some time now. Really hoping that I make the cut and I will keep watching your videos. Thank you
Hi and good morning. Great videos. I had a Amazon recruiter reach out to me and ask if I would be interested. I said yes and I have a first scheduled call with a recruiter on the 1st of November, could you tell me what is expected on this first call? Also, I would like to prepare for this process, do you offer help along this journey?
Gigi I talked about my personal struggle and how I can over come it when they ask me how do I research to overcome challenges. I am kind of annoyed and running out of stories and they ask me to talk about business. I then give out my business case. Will it be a rejection immediately from the offer? Thanks.
You don’t need to go through your entire career. Trip quickly through most of it and dwell on 2-3 career defining moments/projects that show who YOU are. Your career history is already in front of the on your resume.
@@amazoninterviewwhizzdayone503 Hi! I received my offer yesterday and I just wanted to say thank you for all of your help! These videos gave me the confidence I needed to succeed. In my situation I had received no word back within a week of my interview, I emailed the contact and was told they were still trying to get things squared away. It took a total of 28 days haha but it was worth the wait. I’ve told so many people about your videos, You’re a life saver!
May I know if I should reveal my criminal conviction to the loop interviewers? Will they take that into account during the debrief? I revealed this to the hiring manager during the first phone screen and still made it to the loop.
@@amazoninterviewwhizzdayone503 thanks for the advice! But won’t Amazon find out eventually? I’m suppose there’s some background check after passing the debrief and before they make an offer
@@HengOngHuatAh you said you already told the HM and I assume on your application you had to declare your criminal record. You need to be honest and share the information if asked but it doesn’t need to go any further than the HM and your application. The other interviewers are there to assess you against LPs and Functional Skills- that’s it! The rest of your life isn’t their business. If you weren’t asked on your application, you would be at offer stage.
@@amazoninterviewwhizzdayone503 okay thanks. I have over 10 years experience of coding. But in real project, we never meet the leetcode problems , just use the very readable code solution. Hi GG, In my upcoming panel , I can see one of the panel member already took my phone screen, is it normal ? My phone screen with him really went well , since he is also in Loop you think I have an edge ?
Hi GG, any tips to tackle the panel interviews as an ex Amazonian? Started my career at Amazon and took on a different roles before applying again. Any dos and don'ts specifically for this use case?
I just did an interview some about 2 weeks ago but I didn’t not pass the interview. I saw that the role is still on the job list. Can I reapply for the role after 3 months if the role is still available?
Hi Gg, Thanks for your videos…i passed phone interview and on to the Loop. However i have just opened my big mouth to say it lasted only 30mins instead of an hr and the recruiter seems taken back as not the standard?! Have i ruined it for both myself and the interviewer?
@@latona9257 congratulations!!!!! That’s amazing. If you’d be willing to leave us a testimonial on our website, we’d be very grateful dayone.careers/submit-testimonial/ Everyone at Day One Careers wishes you a fantastic amazon career.
@GG, I have recently heard of a deeper dive strategy when "Tell me about yourself" is asked. The strategy essentially states that ask the interviewer " before I go down the path to share what I can bring to the company, could you tell me more about the role"? I personally do not like that style. Have you seen that at Amazon? How is it perceived at Amazon?
Don’t do that. You get time at the end of every interview to ask questions. Plus be aware of who your interviewer is- they may not know anything about the role.
The stupid Amazon approach of asking for STAR-examples of real life experiences also leads to overly positive and glorifying replies of the candidates, especially if they are good liers and good in making up stories.
Well it’s a stupid approach used by the majority of top tier companies on the planet. Proctor & Gamble, General Electric, IBM, Meta, Google, Walmart, Microsoft, EY, PWC, to name a few
@@amazoninterviewwhizzdayone503 well then that's even more sad. Btw I had applied at EY and in the interview they never asked a behavioral question about past experiences. This is also what I've heard from others who applied there.
Hi GG.. your videos are very helpful!!! I'm from Chennai.. GG i have interviewed on Jan 11th for the role Digital Associate and still I didn't get any mails and updates GG.. what can I do and what ll be the next process please guide
My full package is 10hrs of content. You can of course go though it faster by 1) increasing the playback speed (I watch everything on 1.5 myself) 2) Selecting specific LPs to focus on that you know are key to your interview.
@@tanamedsidthawonsri1351 probably not. I assume you're having a mini loop because you already had a full loop recently but didn't get offered that role?
