The immune system is constantly on the lookout for threats, but cancer isn’t always easy to spot. Some cancer cells can fly under the radar. Now, advanced sequencing technologies are enabling scientists to investigate the unique genetics of both cancers and immune responses in individual patients. This means researchers can develop treatments that boost the immune system and help the body win its battle against cancer.

CHAN hard to tell, maybe we’ll never eradicate cancer. And even if we do who know what will rise in it’s place.
@Gasmanz
@Gasmanz 4 года назад
We are already using treatments like these. Immunotherapy has become the fourth pillar of cancer treatment (With the other three being surgery, chemotherapy, and radiotherapy). While it is not a stand-alone treatment for cancer that can "Cure" patients, when used in conjunction with the other modalities its promise is to move cancer from being the devastating disease it is seen as now, towards being viewed as a disease that can be managed similar to that of a chronic disease such as HIV.
@blackrifle3932
@blackrifle3932 2 года назад
@@Gasmanz I work in an Interventional Radiology department. We get access into the femoral artery and run a catheter into the common hepatic artery (in the liver). We find the arteries feeding tumors and inject beads that have chemo attached to them directly into the arteries feeding the tumor. We use Y-90 on occasion.

Could you list some of the researches and cancer treatments, even if they're on trial stages? My friend has non-small cell squamous cell lung carcinoma. Chemotherapy is absolutely terrible.

Well, "cancer" describes a wideranging class of disease processes. So there will never be one ultimate treatment. But we might one day have a response to every kind of tumor.

I hope near future would freely enable us use strengthened specific Immune cells to treat which would be far better than synthetic drugs which damage even normal cells. My half cent.

i think humanity could do really well with the development of a functional quantum computer. Having it at our disposal to solve these algorithmically complex and intense patter matching problems would not be a difficult task for a quantum computer. And we might finally have a solution to this cancer problem once and for all.

how about don't target by "if it's wrong, kill it", but a "if it's not normal, kill it" - you don't have to know what exactly is the mutation just need to know what 'normal' is
@geetikaluthra8187

it's not as simple as right and wrong there's so many mutations in the body which might or might not show ...maybe it's hard to target the one single mutation that will cause cancer
