What is the axe you are using on this video? I liked the glam a lot.

It's the Axe that auto equips when you're inside Eureka orthos. You can earn it to use as a normal weapon outside as well via the deep Dungeon (il620).

I've always approached deep dungeons as solo content. My PoTD and HoH clears were solo. I got my EO solo clear earlier today and it was a blast. Deep Dungeon has given me some of my favorite and most intense moments in gaming. I really enjoy that I can do this type of content in an MMO on my own time. It's unfortunate that most ppl won't ever see above floor 30 but that's the way it's always been and I don't see the devs changing it. All I can say is join the soloing community. It's small but there's good ppl here.

Grats! I am doing matched parties for aetherpool and then will go solo. I found the EO early floors (1-30) slower than HoH and PoTD where solo farming aetherpool seemed much faster. What aetherpool do you suggest and what method of farming it to continue on after 30?

@@qamarqammar7629 It is much slower. You can still start your solo climb from 0/0 But I did 21-30 several times with a party until I was 49/43. I think that was fine but I did die on floor 51 and by the time I got back there, my arm was nearly 90. I wouldn't recommend doing 71+ without being 99/99. You could try running 2 save files if you just wanna solo.

This is just the way this type of content is, not everything should be match made tbh. Plus it keeps the rewards for doing higher floors more valuable as less people are doing. like ultimates or Eureka/Bozjan its not for everyone's cup of tea.

Unfortunately, I rarely feel it's just because it's the way it is, is solid design rationale. But for sure I agree matchmaking throughout doesn't need to be the solution, though I can't really see how making it more accessible to more people would ruin the content itself (other than impacting peoples market board sales as you mention)

I'm not even sure if matchmaking would work because the harder floors assume you have have been collecting protomanders and throws everything at you with this in mind. Solo runs and even some group runs die at a lack of options when a lure or dreadbeast is accidentally triggered. Having to start from zero protomanders every ten floors would increase the challenge even more, but I don't think in a fun way. The devs have the storyline completed at floor 30 because they know most people will not want to tackle the challenge mode. It was the same for the other deep dungeons. At this point, they are aiming for a specific group of players and designing it around them.

Lack of matchmaking is one component of what makes it less accessible, but agree that it isn't the answer. Personally I'd prefer a way to make progress more PF friendly. That said it would in no way upset me if matchmaking was there, with a solution like selecting 1 players protomanders to carry forward for everyone or something. Though I wouldn’t use it as I'm sure it would be as bad as attempting savage via the duty finder in EU or NA!

It's rougelike content after that is meant to be grinded and for every player to get his own buffs and experience require to push through all of the floors. Same design as all decent rougelikes have. Compromising on it simply makes content itself, it's completion and game process itself - less valuable. It will turn in just another group activity, as any buffs of that kind will make it so much more easy, that the core concept of that type of content will lose it's meaning. It's not for everyone sure, just as high end content isn't for everyone, or crafter classes do not appeal to many people or pretty much any other content in the game. There's always gonna be a big enough group of people that dislikes it.

"A run to floor 100 may take 4-5 hours plus" If you hadn't already noted that you don't do the Deep Dungeons, this statement alone would have outed you. The higher tiers, i.e. 60+, are races against the clock. It's very common for groups with lower aetherpool, poor RNG with pomanders, or poor room layouts to time out, eating the entire 60mins and forcing a restart. Anything above floor 30 is purely meant as a challenge and for bragging rights. It's the same kind of content as Savage Raids, Criterion Dungeons, and Ultimates. There won't, and shouldn't be, a duty finder for it. You're going to have to make friends and make plans to tackle it like any other high end content, and that's entirely okay. The rewards at the end of the day are entirely cosmetic. All level 1 items, no stats, plus some titles and a mount if you do it 4 times. If you sincerely cannot make friends and plans to tackle it with a static group, the option always exists to tackle it solo. The deep dungeon recognizes solo runs and rebalances for it. Hard as hell though.

I think other high end content goes to highlight the issues of the deep dungeon. For savage, criterion and even ultimate a player isn't forced to form a static as such, they can pick up with a different group of people via the PF or other means to progress further without invalidating their current progress. The duty finder is one component of what makes it tricky to get into, but it isn't nesscairly the solution. I'd personally rather see a route to make accessing it more PF friendly. Though in my opinion additional ways to encourage players into something aren't a bad thing, heck if Japan can do savage via the duty finder then where there's a will there a way! I'm always glad of challenges in the game, but I always prefer the challenge to be the difficulty of the content it's self and not the logistics around it.

@@SamsonGrey26 Right, but that's still ignoring the issue of pomander inventory. That is tied specifically to the save slot for the group, and if you have four different people all on the same set of floors, you have four different save slots with four different pomander inventories. How do you solve for that without standardizing pomanders for each set of floors and removing the challenge?

@@SamsonGrey26 That's setting up a recipe for player conflict and a secondary market where people sell their runs with "optimal" pomanders on higher floors. It's, once again, meant to be a challenge mode where you have to manage your inventory as you go higher. It's part of the skill of completing it. Many a run die because you don't want to spend your last Witching or Serenity or whatever pomander and then cannot handle what the floor set sends at you, or you do spend it and then don't get another before floor 99 and can't complete the floor with guaranteed Gloom + two other effects. It'll encourage a toxic gaming of the system. Some challenge modes are meant to be played with a static group. That's not a failing of design, that's a failure to accept that not all content is for everyone at all times. Once again, you can solo it if you don't want to, or cannot, form a small dedicated group.

That's assuming which players pomanders are taken is the players choice, but rather it should be random as I think you're spot on with your points.

It really is flawed, the same goes for PotD, I think PotD is far worse. The best of the 3, is definitely HoH, while the early floors aren't exactly exciting, they don't take long to get past generally the challenge mostly starts 71+ but 61+ can be pretty rough also, so to speak you won't be pulling massive groups of enemies. You can do this in EO but god it's so slow even on a dps. PotD... god the boring grind to 101+. What doesn't help with EO is the amount of telegraph spam that can one shot any class. HoH is the best of the 3, there's no flaw with it really. I hope the next deep dungeon we get, if we do get one, I hope it learns from the mistakes of EO. But a cool thing with EO is a 99 floor boss, that is actually really cool addition!

POTD does matchmaking just good luck finding a full group past floor 50 with each 10 floors higher becoming harder and harder.

The later floors are, as highlighted by other people, designed around previously obtained pomanders. If you're so adverse to party finger or getting a group of friends together, try going through it solo. Not everything should be dutyfinder-compatible. Your want to make this content more 'accessible' will result in major design elements of the content as a whole needing to be changed, most of which would ruin the feel of this content.

No aversion to the party finder at all it, always my preferred route for content. The lack of duty finder is a contributing element but doesn't need to be part of an improvement. At the core of it, whether duty or party finder, I just dont think enabling players who are all at the same floor to join up, irrespective of whether they initially started at floor 21 together or not, would change or ruin the feel of the content (especially not for those who can schedule running the whole thing with the same people for which theres no change at all). Re pomanders, have one players take precedence and then they are the Pomanders that the new group then has moving forward.

I feel like them cutting matchmaking off at 30+ is the devs way of forcing people into PF, which is fine tbh. This is ~sorta~ endgame content so everyone should know the difference between left and right at lv.81. What I don't like is how you're hard locked in with the same people. People's moods/schedule/whatever changes every single day and so if just one person can't make it - GG you're never getting past the next 10 floors.

100% agree Glorious! I'd take PFing over matchmaking any day of the week. I feel through experience it's largely unrealistic to asumme you'll be able to get the same PF group back together for a 2nd or 3rd time and unfair to get annoyed if others want to move on and reset their save slot!

Matchmaking past 30 wouldn't work bc you need to collect stuff that you need for higher floors and does items r shared for all in the grp so it wouldn't work at all pretty simple why it's no match making if you think about it

it makes no sense to do deep dungeon in a party its simply too easy with 4 people and there are pretty much no rewards for clearing it on repeat
