Said it before, saying it now - "Highway Star" is the ULTIMATE song for high-speed driving. You sound surprised at Ian Gillen's vocals - which means you need to do much more Deep Purple. Gillen is a powerhouse like no other. Deep Purple is probably the mightiest band ever - I rate them above Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin together - and now you know why. And why are you not familiar with Deep Purple? Ask anyone you know who plays the guitar, and they'll tell you that the very first riff they learned was "Smoke On The Water". This is like a Metal band not knowing "Paranoid" or "Whole Lotta Love". When The Beatles and The Stones hit, Jon Lord looked at their guitars and said "so what - an organ is MUCH louder". And then he demonstrated exactly what he meant. Technical note - that organ in the background in your videos can have just as nasty a tone as Jon Lord's - do what he did, skip the Leslie and jack it straight into a 100-watt Marshall stack. Try this experiment, if you dare. (Oh, please dare, please dare ! )

Most of the bands that we see playing hard rock or heavy metal today do know that these are the guys that made them buy the bass, guitar or drums. In addition to "Highway Star" I also wished that you react on "Painkiller" and "Sign of the Southern Cross" but they were blocked. Hope we can find a way to see you react those classic songs too. There is scant coverage of John Lord during his famous solo and virtually no coverage of Ritchie Blackmore throughout the video, let alone during his legendary solo. Yeah, I'm aware Ritchie is at the extreme side of the stage, so what, the camera crew should have known the solo was coming up and trained its beady little lens on Ritchie.

You should react to mistreated or burn by deep purple live in 1974 it was the next version of this band after this singer and bass player left. The bass player after this one is also an amazing singer which is showcased well in burn and towards the end of mistreated you can hear him. The lead singer (david coverdale) is an amazing singer as well and also ended up becoming the lead singer of the band whitesnake which you might have heard of

One of the best bands of all time. John Lord a master on the keyboard. Blackmore a true artist on the guitar. Ian such a masterfull drummer. The whole band was so amazing. Check out the entire Machine head album. You won't be disappointed

Back when musicians were real, not manufactured by the studio, and they could write great, memorable, melodic songs, too!

You are looking at one of Miyako's (Lovebites) biggest guitar influences in Ritchie Blackmore. He's a great guitarist who influenced so many metal guitarsts. The late Jon Lord was one of the best ever keyboard players of all time. Ian Gillan had a massive impact on Iron Maiden's Bruce Dickinson as what a front man for a band should be. He learned a lot from talking with Ian.

Fun fact: The audio for this clip is from the live album Made in Japan (one of the best live rock albums ever made), but the video is from a concert in Copenhagen on the same tour. I believe I heard Lars Ulrich say that was the first concert he ever went to. You can watch the whole Copenhagen concert on RU-vid

Yeah the video is edited down to match the audio. The intro in Denmark is a lot longer. And Blackmore's solo is very different (not his best to be honest)

If you heard the Copenhagen one Gillan says in the beginning of this song this is off our new album Machine Head which is going to be released next month and it’s likely to be our opening song .
