coolcool, but what about the dank web. surely there is a dank web if there is a deep and dark web. I assume it's full of dank memes, but i just don't know.

@@franklindroosevelt8957 G'day, anti-muslim internet user who may or may not be a bot designed by our government overlords to brainwash us into voting for certain politicians who we should not be voting for due to their questionable activity on the Dark Web doing all sorts of stuff mainly involving developing way to further brainwash us with the help of the Russian governmental websites who are probably brainwashing the American politicians with vodka laced with drugs so they hallucinate thinking they are using the Russians to brainwash us when the Russians are actually using them to brainwash us so we don't stubble onto the secret that they are the ones who are actually supplying Ireland's potatoes, and not the other way around. Or you know, you might be a human.
Goldenhand The Just Yeah, I've heard that a large portion of the nodes are now hosted by the NSA/Government. Which means it's really easy to make a 3 node route which is made entirely from spying nodes. So you have practically no anonymity if that happens.
+HeyJD it actually doesn't matter unless the government owned every single exit node, because the nodes have no way of knowing if the IP they're receiving is the original one or just another node
I remember the old Modem sound when connecting to the internet. Now I made some research and I kind of understood why those modems sounded like that. That might be cool for a Fast as Possible. Greetings! Love you guys, you are my fav RU-vid group
Fun fact. A lot of the content on the dark web really isn't all that bad (as was largely pointed out here). Much of the average user and sites on there really are against all those bad things, and even the bad thing places are REALLY against the REALLY bad things. A good chunk is for information, usually innocent stuff that you'd think should be publicly accessible anyway. I've heard of a lot of people liking using forums and whatnot there simply to talk about their preferred topics (I'm talking legit topics, not porn. Though there's that too of course lol) without trolls. I've seen social media clones just so you have the privacy facebook and the like don't offer. It's really not a scary place. Just don't go looking for trouble. Of course it's still very hard to actually do anything, since you basically need the garble of a URL to get anywhere and most of the search engines are pretty weak if you can find one. I was messing around on there one day many a year ago and found a "cat facts" page. Every reload had a new picture of a cat and sometimes fake sometimes real "cat fact"..... that was it. That was the whole site. This place that was somewhat difficult to even find due to how Tor is... and it was about cats. Best site on any form of the net lol
My older brother had a brief phase in which he kept watching bloody scenes, deaths etc. in the deep/dark web, I thought he was turning into a gore addict and called him out on it until he told me to sit down and watch it. I watched it for a few days and gradually became desensitized to the vile content, but one thing that stuck with me in a more realistic and sensible way from such experience was the existence of a crude and extreme reality out there that opened my eyes to the prevalence of inumerous possibilities of suffering and death. I guess it gave me awareness and skepticism towards things in some way. Not that I recommend it, but it certainly showed me a reality outside of my previous worldview that later on made me objectively account and search for national, regional and worldwide problems that I didn't use to pay any attention to.
Linus, make an episode on network peering! A lot of people don't understand there is more to the internet besides connecting to your ISPs first hub, and the servers first hub, and how there can be issues between the two.
Linus, for the next episode of tech quickie could you do a episode on the old AMD naming scheme (e.x. Radeon 7000 series) I never understood it yet I am very familiar with the other naming schemes pretty well.
Snipez The info needs to go out because there is a rumor going around the governments of the world are going to try and lock the main web so everyone needs to know how to bypass government efforts at stopping free speech/information on the web. Freedom always wins......
That sound effect at 2:19 is the same one that we used in our middle School production of the ghost train.it's a play, and I was a technical director for the show. The sound effect still gives me nightmares. Theater people will understand
Luke V It wouldn't be delivered via ups. It would probably be delivered through a shady tradeoff in a secluded place somewhere, or they'd have a courier that works within the drug trade deliver it to you.
autoalanamis No, you give the seller your name and address and they send it concealed in different ways like in hard drives or inside a double layered envelope (I don't have any experience in the subject but the dark web made me very curious so I gathered a lot of information and it's very complicated to actually buy anything safely.)
can you guys do an episode on g sync vs free sync? i remember you did one earlier but i didn't really understand what they are and what's the diffrence
Can you describe the differences between different Image terms like saturation, depth, aperture, focal length, pixels, white balance as fast as possible..?
+Vibez xLegacy yes yes, child stuff. Well, if this was the mind of a child, I hope he heeds this warning, because I don't know if a child mind would know he's put on a list
Tor Browser is a Mozilla Firefox based Browser , when opened , it automatic configure IP temporally , when open , you automatic in In private browsing ( prevent storing cookies , history , etc...) witch it doesn't say. It randomly choose location , and it recommended to leave the windows itself on it's original size and not maximize it. Maximizing tor browser detects your monitor type witch is used to track you. You better off re sizing it bigger. Also don't torrent stuff.
Tor is more than that. You're just talking about reducing your unqiue browser finger print, which you can do in any privacy browser (like Epic). No one has a truly avoidable fingerprint, its just about reducing it so you sit in a large pool. Tor goes beyond just being a privacy browser..
Good information. However, you missed one key detail. You forgot to mention how onion based routing works. It goes through layer by layer of encryption until the last layer has been past. The problem with TOR is that it needs to go through all the layers, which means that there is still a time in which people can get others info. This is possible when the user is just about to enter the website.
Wow. Linus segwayed to the Cooler Master sponsor with something about looking over your shoulder, and if I look over my shoulder, I can see a brand-new Cooler Master CPU Cooler that I ordered Friday for my new build...
With what I thought I knew about the deep web, I came up with the analogy that the web (overall) is the ocean. You have the surface level where there's lots of sunlight, the deeper level where there's less sunlight light and reduced visibility but you can still see things, then there's the really deep parts where no sunlight will ever reach and you can barely see things with any light source that can survive.
I've always had issues with ThermalTake and Cooler Master power supplies and fans. Corsair has always done me justice, especially in the PSU segment, with the single-rail construction.
UzY3L And as everyone has different experiences, I've only ever had issues with my Corsair products. Last one for me to get rid of is my neutron 250gb SSD. My cooler master products - Storm Trooper case, nepton 280L, V1000 psu, and several jetflo fans currently. Not one hiccup to speak of.
Sadly the Tor network does not work here in China... So I have to use a good vpn (and even that does not work ~20% of the time) to use RU-vid or to even properly use Skype to call my parents back home... US Navy please help me :)
tried hotspot shield - it worked around 15% of the time. my guess is that the ISP, China Telecom, has some additional restrictions on UDP and TCP traffic in Sichuan or Chengdu. I'm currently using ExpressVPN which works alright. Except in the evening hours. :)
If turnip gets to be a shirt, feels like the Onion captioned "I'm full of secrets" needs to be one too. Not sure why but other than the "BRING ON DA BITS" moment a few episodes ago, that one made me laugh the most.
Please guys help me, 4 days ago i am curious on what is really on deep web like yeah so i am going on stores like drugs or weapons but i don’t buy on it, then suddenly my chatmate gave me a link through a disturbing site and when i stop visiting on it, my IP was shown in the screen when im about to exit on it so am i going to die?
Vault Boy Oh yeah I've been on the internet for a long time (not an old man, only 15), but I've been going on /b/ for like 6 years and nothing affects me besides animals getting hurt.
Ah shit. I came here to leave some rage comments about a stupid deep web darknet confusion video frome some guy that has no idea what has is talking about. But then I realized that this is indeed an informative video :O Those are verry rare today
finally your addressing this I love your show but a word for the wise don't trend there loosely you might just stumble upon unpleasant facts that you'll never ever be able to wipe off your mind
***** all in for that but ever hear about kittiecrush well don't take my word for it but I wandered off the wrong road and vomited my guts out even though I'm known to be as the ironstomache
