He is the type, who talks too much but says almost nothing. Edit for another jab! After years of milking people of their disposable income Chopra came out with yoga CDs. He couldn't perform what he was preaching rather hired coaches to demonstrate.

I think this is the case for many of these 'gurus' who get to this level. They start out with some basic ideas that do make some sense. I too agree some of Chopras philosophies including many that this you tube guru :) demeans. However, as they become more well known and rich, making money, selling books, and becoming a "guru" become the goal and they go off the rails. When looking for spiritual or medical guidance , anyone that was pushed and made famous with assist of Oprah automatically crosses them off my list!

I love it when these spiritual masters keep releasing new books because apparently they didn't quite nail it in the previous ones.

Depak is so right we are what we eat we can cause our health problems and we can create our illnesses including Cancer and all other diseases. We need to begin early in life and prepare our body to avoid some of the things that caused our ancestors to die. By doing this we can wipe out generational diseases and death and live longer. Keep in mind the B-complex vitamins are referred to as the sparkplugs of life. If we practice better health we can wipe out generational diseases which our elders have and march on to a healthier future.

Hi. I actually went to one of his clinics years ago. The treatment began with a regular check-up from a western physician, the rest of the appointment was a few hours of traditional Aryuvedic approach, so in practice it wasn't exactly woo woo if open to other methodologies such as centuries old Ayurveda. For example there is certainly documented positive results from Chinese medicine and accupunture. Also I do believe in a certain amount of mind over matter when it comes to healing...or like sports persons using visualizations. I also believe that meditations and placing the mind in a broader context can have a relaxing healing effect. One just has to glean and discern what works for the individual and what does not. As an objective course of study I have read many Indian texts. I didn't go gaga over it and took an approach of welcoming and paring away. I actually met Deepok Chopra kind of at the height of his fame ... as part of a team who hosted him at a venue. Have to admit he does have a shiny presence, but in the end no one should be put on a pedestal... dare i say Dr. G included. I actually found the analysis somewhat harsh considering we do have the ability to use our minds to distill and experiment with information what may be beneficial and leave the rest. I do have little tolerance for woo woo, but in effect calling everyone stupid who may have opted to not throw the baby out with the bathwater entirely and given the benefit of the doubt, many of his readers are capable of discerment... When someone is obviously triggered even tho modulated and matter of fact, I also question that as well. Life is pretty miraculous whether one has some sensibility toward spituality or not.

I tend to agree with you However, a few months ago when I was seriously ill & in permanent, excruciating pain, I kind of wished that I could pray to someone/ something for it to go away But even in that situation where I could barely think, critical thinking didn't leave me, so obviously I didn't pray and just stood there by myself trying not to die for a few weeks lol But being in that situation made me understand why some people need to believe in something above them, you know? Because when everything's fine, it's easy to be an atheist, but when you're alone in a really dark place, you kind of want to believe in something (even if you can't, like myself) Cheers

If you have faith, you accept God's law as true without question based on...."faith"... on laws/regulations set by your parents and your spiritual leader. No "critical thinking" involved there. In fact, when science fails (and trust me, it does in several places, currently) it’s funny how the Bible seems to so smoothly fill in those gaps. The First Cause argument and the Cosmological argument for God’s existence (if you’re unfamiliar, google it!) are some of the most compelling for even many astrophysicists. No, I don’t blindly believe anything. Like a lot of people, I was a fervent atheist... and then I became a physicist. Then it was clear to me that God existed. I carefully look at my faith with reason and logic. It’s like you think that I only apply my brain to my physics work and not my faith. In fact, it was my brain that led me to God too. For the many years I’ve been studying the universe, every time I had a question physics couldn’t answer, the Bible could!! Faith is indeed a carefully and dutifully thought-out belief that explains something you otherwise couldn’t. I like to think I’m deliberate in how I approach my faith. I don’t blindly follow religion or some crap. My parents are atheists so it’s not like I’m following what I was raised with. Logic brought me (and a ton of other scientists I know, actually lol) to Christ.

After hearing for the first time about so many outrageously false statements by Chopra, it appears there is a lot more chaff than wheat in his teachings. He clearly isn't sufficiently knowledgeable to be peddling his thoughts on quantum physics. Fortunately, I bought only 1 of his books. It was on discount. 80 million! I think he's earned more than he deserves.
