@@LiveFaustDieJung " People can study and enjoy the field without working in that field. It’s all a bunch of mental masturbation anyway." Except that it seems to WORK. Chopra shouts in bold but when is questioned backs up in fine prints. For years he put his younger photos on the cover of books while claiming his methods slows down aging. Condemned materialism yet drove Porsche. After boasting levitation for long couldn't perform in public. Quietly withdrew his non-sense quantum. He is the type, who talks too much but says almost nothing. Edit for another jab! After years of milking people of their disposable income Chopra came out with yoga CDs. He couldn't perform what he was preaching rather hired coaches to demonstrate.

Another great analysis! Really enjoyed this one and agree 💯% with it. Here’s a story that happened involving Depak Chopra. Several years ago, my son and I went to see him speak at a local church in the area where we lived. New age kind of church. At the end of his talk, he wanted everyone in the audience to stand and make a statement that we would never have a negative thought again. As my son and I watched in disbelief as the whole audience stood and recited the statement after him, my son and I looked at each other and said “ this is dumb.” 🤣 True story! Thank God we are critical thinkers.

Hi Dr. Grande. About 26 years ago I was going through a divorce with child care issues. Sadly, I never clued in about narcissists and their mo. I was a walking piece of toast watching all these pieces of my (what I thought was a happy) marriage. It was actually a horror show. Somehow I found a few books by Dr. Chopra, read them, and tried to put some of his teachings in front of me. Sometimes his suggestions actually worked. Now that could be that I was in magical thinking mode but nevertheless, I started to stop wishing to suicide and start to eat and return to college. I give full credit to Dr. Chopra, he gave me hope and for that I am forever grateful to him. They say take what information you want and discard the rest. I still do this practice in my work and life.. I love your show. xx

When I was 17, I remember reading the Seven Spiritual Laws of Success by Deepak Chopra. It helped me immensely at that time. I never read any other books by him though. It’s ironic that I enjoyed that book seeing as how I never really gravitated towards Deepak Chopra beyond that. I think once I realized he was hobnobbing with the stars and diplomats it may have made me question his validity. I think of spiritual gurus as living in nature somewhere off the grid and living authentically rather than attempting to achieve mainstream success by schmoozing. Also that book was read before Oprah got a hold of him. That seems to be when he turned. I also didn’t know he charged enormous fees for this stuff. And he likely doesn’t worry about anything because he’s got $80 million. Most worries people have due to tend to be connected to finances.

I think this is the case for many of these 'gurus' who get to this level. They start out with some basic ideas that do make some sense. I too agree some of Chopras philosophies including many that this you tube guru :) demeans. However, as they become more well known and rich, making money, selling books, and becoming a "guru" become the goal and they go off the rails. When looking for spiritual or medical guidance , anyone that was pushed and made famous with assist of Oprah automatically crosses them off my list!

I’ve been a meditator since the late 1970s. I feel grateful that I’ve had certain experiences such as self realization and even more than that. So I am aware about consciousness and physicality and some of the things you’re putting down. This part of what you’re saying is totally wrong and you say this only because you don’t know any difference. But on the other hand you are very correct about some of these people and I think the key here is that when great amounts of money are involved there’s always something happening that’s undesirable. Real spirituality does not involve tons of money neither does real Christianity I.e. the mega churches scamming people right and left. Real spirituality is not a self health store. Real spirituality is not a best seller book.

Depak is so right we are what we eat we can cause our health problems and we can create our illnesses including Cancer and all other diseases. We need to begin early in life and prepare our body to avoid some of the things that caused our ancestors to die. By doing this we can wipe out generational diseases and death and live longer. Keep in mind the B-complex vitamins are referred to as the sparkplugs of life. If we practice better health we can wipe out generational diseases which our elders have and march on to a healthier future.

Hi. I actually went to one of his clinics years ago. The treatment began with a regular check-up from a western physician, the rest of the appointment was a few hours of traditional Aryuvedic approach, so in practice it wasn't exactly woo woo if open to other methodologies such as centuries old Ayurveda. For example there is certainly documented positive results from Chinese medicine and accupunture. Also I do believe in a certain amount of mind over matter when it comes to healing...or like sports persons using visualizations. I also believe that meditations and placing the mind in a broader context can have a relaxing healing effect. One just has to glean and discern what works for the individual and what does not. As an objective course of study I have read many Indian texts. I didn't go gaga over it and took an approach of welcoming and paring away. I actually met Deepok Chopra kind of at the height of his fame ... as part of a team who hosted him at a venue. Have to admit he does have a shiny presence, but in the end no one should be put on a pedestal... dare i say Dr. G included. I actually found the analysis somewhat harsh considering we do have the ability to use our minds to distill and experiment with information what may be beneficial and leave the rest. I do have little tolerance for woo woo, but in effect calling everyone stupid who may have opted to not throw the baby out with the bathwater entirely and given the benefit of the doubt, many of his readers are capable of discerment... When someone is obviously triggered even tho modulated and matter of fact, I also question that as well. Life is pretty miraculous whether one has some sensibility toward spituality or not.

Hey there, your local physics grad student (no I’m not lying, I work on shape dynamics theoretical and computational research) just here to remind you that rational and logical people CAN be religious! The stigma of religion=uneducated is woefully out of date, and ironically, ignorant. I’m a fundamental Christian who takes the Bible and my relationship with Jesus Christ seriously, and I also happen to be a physicist getting her PhD. Ask me questions if you’re curious, always happy to answer ‘em! :)
@jlim003
@jlim003 3 года назад
@@mcgheebentle1958 No one said "religion = uneducated". The guy featured in this video is a medical doctor. L Ron Hubbard studied engineering. Regardless, faith is the opposite of critical thinking. Faith is believing in something based on zero evidence. My mother is a law grad, yet she still believes in everything her priest and the catholic church tells her. Unquestioningly. If you have faith, you accept God's law as true without question based on...."faith"... on laws/regulations set by your parents and your spiritual leader. No "critical thinking" involved there. So, you may be a rocket scientist. But, in matters of spirituality...F.
@mcgheebentle1958
@mcgheebentle1958 3 года назад
@@jlim003 Ah, but faith actually isn’t believing in something with no evidence. I’ve got plenty of it. In fact, when science fails (and trust me, it does in several places, currently) it’s funny how the Bible seems to so smoothly fill in those gaps. The First Cause argument and the Cosmological argument for God’s existence (if you’re unfamiliar, google it!) are some of the most compelling for even many astrophysicists. No, I don’t blindly believe anything. Like a lot of people, I was a fervent atheist... and then I became a physicist. Then it was clear to me that God existed. I carefully look at my faith with reason and logic. It’s like you think that I only apply my brain to my physics work and not my faith. In fact, it was my brain that led me to God too. For the many years I’ve been studying the universe, every time I had a question physics couldn’t answer, the Bible could!! Faith is indeed a carefully and dutifully thought-out belief that explains something you otherwise couldn’t. I like to think I’m deliberate in how I approach my faith. I don’t blindly follow religion or some crap. My parents are atheists so it’s not like I’m following what I was raised with. Logic brought me (and a ton of other scientists I know, actually lol) to Christ.
