I heard one of the speakers had some "samples" this year... I had someone light one up at DC25 just when I was about to ask if they were looking for opportunities. That was just not compatible with the customer, so that went up in smoke is more ways than one.
I disclosed in the first sentence of this video I was coming to you from DEFCON 27 hungover with one of my favorite hackers. It's a common defcon hazard - hope that explains.
@@DarrenKitchen hey I'm just starting my bachelors degree in cyber info and data security but I have no idea. I'm a complete blank space. I need help. I want to help others. I want to
Mrs Richards: "I paid for a room with a view !" Basil: (pointing to the lovely view) "That is Torquay, Madam." Mrs Richards: "It's not good enough!" Basil: "May I ask what you were expecting to see out of a Torquay hotel bedroom window? Sydney Opera House, perhaps? the Hanging Gardens of Babylon? Herds of wildebeest sweeping majestically past?..." Mrs Richards: "Don't be silly! I expect to be able to see the sea!" Basil: "You can see the sea, it's over there between the land and the sky." Mrs Richards: "I'm not satisfied. But I shall stay. But I expect a reduction." Basil: "Why?! Because Krakatoa's not erupting at the moment?"
Does that hog have a GPS radio ? ;) For some War driving ? I drove over the Tappan Zee Bridge in NY way back with an old laptop and Back Track and a rooted android device as my GPS device it kinda said they had a wifi device at the top of the structure of bridge its gone now (the bridge that is) but it always fascinated me.
To get around the physical limitation of USB 3.0 why not use a mining motherboard where you could convert 20+ PCI-E 1 slots in to 4+ USB 3.0 slots each? Could sniff many more wireless networks then?
Hold on... Can this be used as a WiFi router? Or hotspot? Can it also pickup Bluetooth? ... Can we then network all the connected devices together?... Can we then add a programmable radio recever? I WANT TO PICKUP ALL THE LOCAL RF SIGNALS
I want to turn that into a wireless LAN hub. That is cross compatible with EVERYTHING. Then use it to knock EVERYONE off the network so that all signals have to go through that thing. Also it'd make home networking a breeze, and you'd know if ANY new wireless device got within range. So any black hat just gave away there presence to you by just turning on anything.
I like the way these two talk, and interact lol there's not a lot of weird masculine ego stuff going on, and by that I mean that they can actually both be speaking at the same time and still be listening to what it is each other is saying without getting silently butt hurt because someone is speaking while they're speaking lmao!
It took me 5 minutes to realize that the pattern on his shirt and the lanyard he was wearing didn't have anything to do with each other and were two separate things 🤦
You might be better off, writing an input filter for log stash and pulling in the pcap files and using elastic search to do the heavy lifting, should be way faster than any pcap reader
Hey, I'm a complete noob and I'm looking for somewhere (forum, discord, whatever) where I can ask general and probably dumb questions as I learn. Mostly I'm looking at the basic online/connection stuff but if something else would be easier to get into let me know. Hak5, from what I've seen you do some awesome stuff and you do it for the right reasons, but then again I'm a noob so
Well what genre? Reddit has its place. But so do things like stack exchange. And look at github for things people publish that's in all phases of development. It really depends on what you are wanting to learn. Do you code but need hardware help or vise versa? Do you have a working knowledge of communications protocols or os kernels?
@@AtomkeySinclair I'm not great at either software or hardware, mostly from lack of experience but I do have a little experience with both. At first I want to do something that's pretty simple so I can get some info off of a network and start figuring thing out from there. I also like poking at things and seeing how they react, especially if they break
I have this Mediatek MT7612E mini pcie card pre-build on my chinese brand laptop. Does this wireless lan support monitoring mode and packet injection? If this WLAN mini-pcie card has compatible drivers to a latest kernel version of kali linux or parrot security?
this is why i stopped watching hak5 . i dont care what the host has done during these things i want to hear what the guy is saying. but its hard as hell when he is cutting him off every other word
Ehh each of those cards with 1 controller each... Meh you can get star tech 4 controller 4 port cards on pcie x4 that gives you 6gb/s per port vs per card.
Let the person you are interviewing a chance to speak, and quit making it about your own projects and personal work. Its about the person you are interviewing.
I wouldn't bring a single piece of tech with me to these conventions hahaha i can only imagine how many ways these guys could hack you. You could be carrying your fricken debit card with wireless paying information and next thing you know they'd be on your facebook posting d pics lolol
