It's so clear that the guests are frustrated with these non-questions and when they try to explain how the premise of the question is not valid, being interrupted abruptly with another pointless question. The funny part is while Jyoti doesn't agree with their view, they both are vehemently nodding and agreeing with each other. What you don't see is the viewer of this video also nodding and agreeing with them :) On a more serious note, why is Jyoti taking such a adversarial tone in the interviews?! And she is misquoting the guest.. when Raja Mohan said "Russia have not give 100% of the tech" Jyoti turns around and asks Sanjaya "Do you agree with Raja that Russia has not given India any technology". This makes me question her journalistic integrity above all. Shocking!

I would like to express my concerns regarding the recent moderation during the panel discussion. While I understand the importance of a moderator's role in facilitating a productive conversation, I observed a few instances that gave me pause. In my opinion, it is crucial for a moderator to maintain an unbiased approach and create an environment that encourages panelists to freely express their views. Unfortunately, during this particular discussion, there were frequent interruptions and what appeared to be ill-informed questions, which left me with the impression of a lack of understanding. I must acknowledge the professionalism and composure displayed by the panelists throughout the challenging circumstances. Despite the interruptions, they managed to stay focused and contribute valuable insights, showcasing their expertise and dedication to the topic at hand. In order to foster a healthy exchange of ideas, it is essential to have open and respectful dialogue. Therefore, I sincerely hope that future discussions on ThePrint channel will involve moderators who prioritize fairness, objectivity, and the facilitation of meaningful conversations.

Jyoti should keep focussing on anti-bjp and India focus. She showed her shallowness in understanding international relationships, intellectual property, defence and strategic focus. This was such a waste of time of not only the panelist but also audience.

In the end, Mr Baru literally had to say 'Don't interrupt'! Print needs to find a different job for Jyoti as she is too antagonistic in this setup. She gets a great rooster of panelists always and ruins the interviews with an incessant need to interrupt.

Journalist should have at least minimum study before interviewing top notch strategic analysts....The 83 MW pressurised reactor (for Arihant class subs) is developed by BARC with Russian assistance. For Bhramos, India has recently developed the *seeker* domestically after twenty plus long years of joint co-production. And even now India to indigenise the ramjet part of Bhramos but at the same time with the experience of BHRAMOS, India has managed to develop ramjet/ scramjet engines for HSTDV, Rudra-II, Shaurya semi ballistic missiles and on the process of developing Astra MK3.... And the list is extending more n more.... Even AL31 class engines ( used in Su-30 MKI) are *not fully* manufactured by India after 20 years.... Good English and St. Stephen or JNU's background doesn't make one a good journalist intellectually these days unlike 1970s n 80s.... There is no one's monopoly over data and information these days after the advent of unforeseen internet accessibility ... Hence journalists need to update their knowledge on daily basis like a doctor does...

The problem with Jyoti and Barkha is they are not able to see their limitations of black and white only totally missing the millions of grey shade in between, probably due to lack of grey matter above the line these two gentlemen possess.

See if you observe closely all the questions asked by Madam Jyoti, it's perhaps easy to answer diplomatically by any spokesperson, but while deciding on such critical issues by political leaders, mostly defense equipment procurements or similar developmental projects involving billions of dollars, the integrity of a Leader really matters. The patriotism of the leader matters. We will not incline to any nation come what may, what matters most is the quality of the equipment to have an upper hand in any possible future conflicts with our hostile neighbours and thus not endangering the lives of our citizens or say in the endeavour of a nations progress. Charachter of a political leader matters. This is why MODI commands respect in India.

@njain1983

Great insights from both the guests. I see lots of criticism of Jyoti on the way she conducted the interview, many in the comment section implying that her questions were 'infantile' and not worth asking the esteemed guests, I think they are missing the point that Jyoti is asking questions from a 'lay' person point of view, who generally thinks in black/white terms. By doing that she looks 'less informed' but allows the guests to school her (us - especially people who get their knowledge from Whatsapp university) and help us understand that not everything is black/white but things especially matters related to foreign policy are very nuanced. I do agree that sometimes her interrupting the guests stops the guest from sharing more and I also agree that Mr C Raja Mohan didnt say that Russia didnt share ANY tech with India, Jyoti misquoted him while asking question to Mr. Baru.
@jaideepc786
@jaideepc786 Год назад
Yes, valid points made.. Whilst it is easy to berate Jyoti for her persistent common thread & subtle anti - Modi agenda in every interview, the fact that she tried asking questions in typical layman's terms, on such highly sensitive topics such as critical & cutting edge hi-tech transfer, you may actually have a point there.. Thanks..

Too much of opinions but the underlying geopolitical games played by China and US do not allow anyone to throw caution to winds. The US can't withstand the pressures built by the undemocratic rulers of China globally. The weakness of fiscal strategies by China is an exploitable element. Military capabilities can't determine and enforce Shylock like business. India despite its structure, is growing in confidence and the Indian diaspora is going to provide the political base of its growth.

This lady needs to be sent for ‘re-educatuon’ in addition to a strong dose of Dale Carnegie. She is trying to push two of the most knowledgeable Indian strategic thinkers into a corner and being argumentative when they don’t oblige. Someone more mature and clued up in the subject should handle such interviews;

THE BEST WAY TO DO A WORK IS .... TO DO IT BY OURSELF AND THEN TO TEACH IT TO OUR INDIANS .
