At this point, every time I hear ‘so and so is taking care of their mother, grandmother, etc’ or ‘they’re starting a new job on Monday’ it’s an absolute joke. IF YOU CARED AT ALL ABOUT YOUR CARE TAKING RESPONSIBILITY OR NEW JOB YOU WOULD NOT VIOLATE YOUR PROBATION. It also makes me suspect they use ‘being a home care taker’ as an excuse for a government kick back. He’s already a frequent flyer as that skilled trade of carpentry is guaranteed from prison time, (and they mentioned that) and on probation, especially out of Judge Boyd’s court, they give you every possible resource including addiction treatment, mental health treatment, anger management, parenting classes, job skills training, housing aid, etc. There’s nothing more anyone can do for you if you’re not willing to heal yourself.
The guy that was given three years will be out almost immediately. He has served well over a year awaiting sentencing in both countries. But he will be a frequent flyer, unfortunately.
15 Pro violations, and one drug conviction . and another delusional criminal thinks he deserves another chance 😂😂😂 I don’t think Judge Boyd found it funny.
I feel sorry for the elderly black lady. I was shocked that she is only 56 - I thought she was in her mid 70's. I so hope she gets help at that place and they help her get her GED. Sounds like that means so much to her. It appears to me that she has led a rough life. 😢💔
@@irisesq.6389Yes! That's exactly it. He knows Judge Boyd well and knows what she wants/needs to hear to make her decision. Otherwise she'd be asking the same question herself once he was finished.
That phrase is the signal to the Court Recorder to begin transcribing everything that is said. In fact, that job is why the Judge tells people that only one person can speak at a time.
8 months in jail for pcs?! I'm a probation officer here in Harris County and I had a guy who tested dirty a couple of times for cocaine, stopoed reporting, and we had no contact with him for like 6 months. and the only thing the court did was reinstate his probation and added a couple more classes on top of the other ones he never signed up for. They had caught up to him one day while he was in a car with someone and he was arrested, went to court, and was out less than a week later.
if the 1st guy hadnt taken probation in the first place (like SO many people do to avoid the shorter punishment of incarceration) in favor for 2-3x as much time on probation, he would have been done with his sentence LONG ago. now , even though he has been on probation for 3yrs , since he violated now he goes back & serves the time he wouldve gotten had he taken incarceration in the first place. i remember when i took the years over probation, the judge looked at me like i was nuts. its like ripping off a bandaide, you do it as fast as possible
The state waives ALL other violations. I keep hearing that repeatedly. If they won’t follow rules for staying out of jail/prison then they need to be held accountable for all of their violations and go to jail/prison. It’s not one wrong choice (choices are not mistakes ) that was made on probation it is multiple wrong choices. Eleven months of not reporting to probation while he is on probation! Why isn’t he already back in jail?
@@Tam58851520 These court hearings are not all brand new. I’ve seen many uploaded a few hours ago all the way to 2 years ago. Many different people upload the same hearings
@@Tam58851520 Due to jail restrictions because of very tight quarters, they still require inmates to wear masks because your chances of getting it and spreading it are higher
She says she considers the defense’s arguments but in reality she doesn’t. If she did then she wouldn’t hand out the maximum sentence on every single case. I like Boyd less and less the more I watch her.
