If he cared about contact with his daughter, he probably should have thought about her before committing the offences that he did. You have to think about the daughter as well - what if she doesn’t want contact from him? When she is of age to make that choice, she can always petition the court to life that no contact but you can’t just assume she wants to talk to her dad in prison, especially after he didn’t have the concern for her to stay out of prison. I’m an addict 5 years sober and, drugs don’t just magically make you do things - they may lower your inhibitions or compel you to feed your habit but it’s you that has the intention. Hes a felon which means while he’s most likely been on parole, and he was on probation when they arrested him, which would have offered drug treatment already, and you heard from the one man that he’s also never asked before now, now that he’s facing prison.
