It's actually not that broken since when you are blocking, you can only move slowly (not to sprint). This gives enemy chance to surround and kill you, which is honestly pretty accurate to how to kill a jedi as well lol.
Unless you find a good area where they can't. And then use an exploit that let you have unlimited Stamina. Blocking everything for days and since you still get kills, time is refreshed.
My usual tactic was to scare them off with mines or even the detpacks lol, forcing them to either relocate or jump, the latter will force them out of the block stancr
If I remember correctly, you could get round this as a vehicle gunner by shooting with heavy weapons next to the heroes/villains. The area damage would still injure them. The same applies to the heavy troops with their rocket launchers.
Once, before i had the game myself, i played the order 66 misson with a friend. And i was like "oh the jedi deflect my blaster? Fine, I'll get the rocket launcher clone" Should have seen my face when one jedi just deflected the rocket straight back into my face😂
I threw granades at them, the ones that stick to the enemies once they hit. My favorite part was seeing them run away with it still attached to them and laugh as it exploded.
His comment is especially dumb because force users don't automatically deflect every shot at an enemy, they _can_ with focus but when surprised or overwhelmed you often see them just trying to deflect regardless of angle.
I still remember the hero characters only match I played in this game back when it originally came out with no limit on what characters could be selected and seeing a gang of Yodas take out a single Count Dooku was a thing of beauty.😂
@@slimdangerous1928 yeah you needed to find exploits in their 360 degree barrier I allways enjoyed jet trooper to make as much explosives land juuuust before he automatically bounces it back to you but close enough to affect him with the aoe
Being fair, Luke DID defect an At-At's blasts back at it like that when he appears in the Dark Empire comic series back in the day. Honestly one of the coolest things he's ever done.
Haven’t much bigger blasts been blocked pretty regularly, I think if Vader can dragged a cargo ship down and rip it apart with the force I’m sure you can blast AT-AT shots with ease
In Jedi Power Battles there was a mechanic that i don't know if any other Star Wars game have, that if you block exactly when a shot was about to hit you, it would be deflected back to the enemy
I’ll never forget the first time I played as Luke Skywalker and deflected all those blaster bolts. All the stormtroopers in the world couldn’t hope to destroy the main hero of the original trilogy. Course playing as Darth Vader and doing the same thing equally felt just as fun. Lastly when I saw the thumbnail, I thought you were going to tell us that Luke had a cut special animation for taking down the AT-AT like he did in Rogue Squadron 3: Rebel Strike. 😅
@@Alph4Falc0 I thought Luke would be able to shoot a grappling line at the AT-AT under carriage, raise himself to it, swipe it with his lightsaber, then tossing a grenade inside before falling back to the ground. It’s not a cut feature, I just assumed the uploader was going to tell us because the thumbnail reminded me of another game where Luke can do that.
As nostalgic as that game is, the force users implementation was pretty poor let's be honest. Insanely stupid AI, overcompensated for by literal invincibility to anything but ledging and vehicle ramming.
My favorite lesser-known broken mechanic about this game is the Precision Pistol. Ignoring mods, it was the most busted item in the whole game. Did huge damage, you could fire it as fast as you could pull the trigger, could one-shot people to the head, and if you got the Gunslinger medal 64 times, you had the Precision Pistol every time you spawned into a class that used a handgun.
Precision pistol fucking shredded everything so ridiculously fast, I loved going into the enemy ship in Space Battles and just single-handedly murdering 50 people behind the door in their control room
Yeah I don't know what troll "balanced" the upgraded weapons because the upgraded sidearm was unbelievably more powerful than any upgraded primary. Felt like they never playtested those at all. 😂
I feel like they had made Jango's pistol first and decided they didn't want to make another weapon and just copied over Jango's pistol stats onto the reward pistol.
Blaster bolt deflection was awesome in BF2. Lightsaber defence on the other hand was often glitchy. Kenobi vs grievous on Utapau doesn’t work half the time. Order 66 if Anakin wants to face off against Jedi he often gets slaughtered.
I learned this the hard way by shooting rockets at the jedi and expecting them to blow up. Instead I was the one to blow up. Later on I learned that the most OP weapon of heavy class is the mines.
The mines were perfect for pretty much any occasion. Enemy soldiers storming your fortifications? Jedi/Sith hawking you down a hallway? Droideka bombardment? Tank assault? The mine has you covered
It isn't random in the modern bf2, its super accurate depending on your character. Obiwan being the best at deflection, where as Grievous for example sucks at deflection. Its a much more accurate representation of the ability
@@michaelandreipalon359 how? He doesn't have the skills to tap into the force as a jedi would to anticipate and feel the incoming attack. His best way of deflection is to use the spinning lightsaber trick. If that fails he always prefer running away over trying to deflect anything like a jedi. It makes perfect sense
@@michaelandreipalon359 The version of Grievous im referring to is what George made in ep 3 and TCW. If you prefer the EU version of Grievous that's a matter of your opinion and nothing more. Edit: If you don't believe George was responsible for TCW we already made a video explaining how he was on this channel.
@@dustinakadustin OP's probably one of those people who believes nothing SW related being released these days can possibly be any good, just tries the games with minimum effort and the second something is even barely "difficult", it's bad game design 😂
To be fair the lightsaber deflects in the Star Wars Jedi games is time based to create a harder challenge. It’s a skill game that requires timing to deflect right back. If you just hold block the blaster fire doesn’t deflect or it’d be way to easy to cheese
Different though in Fallen Order you can hold your block and your stamina goes down once a shot or strike hits your block in the og battlefront 2 your stamina is constantly going down to the longer you hold your block
@@diobrando2732 one block that requires timing to deflect and the other block being a constant risk if your stamina isn't used properly it's an important difference to point out
Same with maul, maul took out every single soldier in his path even when your normal fighting with him he'd be able to hit enemies from all sides facing one direction. Anakin/Vader was still broken when you used force choke though. Sidious was a clown too, wasted space in the game. He swings his lightsaber like an old man trying to smack a mouse with a broom
@@mobbinxballin79 Sidious wasn't bad though he just took more skill to use. He was the only hero in the game that can interrupt his swinging animations with force abilities and jumping. Plus his lightning pound attack was good against infantry
I think it's referring more to the fact that the game lets you block incoming blasts as he does a glitchy 360 turn. Basically not as accurate as the older game
And at the same time, your hero health slowly depletes over time which makes blocking a little less op than it could. Far more efficient to charge in and slaughter players.
and In Jedi Outcast, you auto deflect things in front of you. And I like that, because it much better reflects a jedi's reflexes, rather than relying on a human's slow reflexes. and you can still run up to enemies to attack I also want to mention that projectiles like rockets and grenades can be reflected with the force instead, and it's not automatic (except for enemies, of course) but I think the only thing that's egregious is lightsabers reflecting a whole volley of FC Golan shotgun pellets. Despite being the best jedi-killing weapon, you still have to wait until they're unable to block to shoot them, otherwise it doesn't matter
I wouldn‘t say it puts to shame other games animations, I think games like Jedi: Fallen order don‘t deflect every round back directly at the shooter because that isn‘t what happens in Star Wars, they usually deflect the rounds into the ground in battles.
I love MHB, the diversity, variety and the energy. I'm pretty new to basketball, miami and this pod but your efforts really sell the whole exoerience to me and are essential to my fledgling heat fandom. Keep doing your thing!
That’s why when a sith got in the field I’d go for either rocket trooper or clone marine, fire rockets near them then chuck grenades or throw down mines, with marine, chain gun until they ran out of stamina and finish them off
In the new Battlefront II, I consistently say "reflect this" as a throw grenades toward Jedi or Sith. I am so glad that reflecting is a bit more toned down in the remake.
All I’m gonna say is…. You purposely chose a bad example on fallen order lol. Perfect deflect Although the first time I saw Yoda deflect a rocket back at me, I was horrified lmao
Bro, you cannot diss the Jedi series, and then proceed to show the BF2 2005 characters literally tweaking on meth as they spasm about, and somehow imply that THAT is better than what we have now.
I think the normal deflect animation for og bf2 is better than Jedi series, obviously when theres too much items it looks funny. But Jedi series deflect usually looks too all over the place for just 1 or to blaster bolts
Blocking was especially broken on PS2 because you could actually infinite block. There was a glitch where if you depleted all your stamina and immediately put up your block it would stay up without draining.
The clone commander and jet troopers were the best for killing Jedi. The jet troopers shooting at their feet would cause enough splash dmg to drop them. And the commander's chaingun drained their stamina extra fast. Not that either could stop Darth Maul. He was the MVP of that game with his sprint attack.
Every star wars game's deflecting seems broken because the blade has an aura of force around it and is constantly invisibly teleporting everywhere and absorbing shots like a black hole. Which is what the lore says happens and personally I think it's just cool how realistic games like the force unleashed make it look.
One of tbe funniest things from childhood was in the original Battlefront, using the orbital strike on Vader on Hoth, watching him go flying into the sky but still deflecting the beams as he was blasted away
I used to find it funny killing Vader in Battlefront 1 (back when you could only play as troops) and the Jedi / Sith were unstoppable NPC’s, you’d of course do this on a map with edges they can fall off, throw a grenade or blast a rocket at the right time and send them falling to their deaths. Great times.
Gotta love how the force user is so fast you can't even see some deflections. Luke in his prime could probably bat an AT-AT round back into the vehicle. Deflects are Luke's specialty
If you watched the original clone wars then you know that this is essentially how the chracters are supposed to move lmao. That short clip of dooku deflecting a dozen lasers is a perfect example of how the force can make its users overpowered and is completely lore-accurate.
The deflecting in Jedi fallen order is the best. If you time it perfectly it goes back at them, but if you hold it, it just deflects it off to the sife
Does Disney not realize how explosive rockets can overwhelm a Jedi or any easily? Look at Darth Malgus in the old republic who eventually took a rocket to the chest after blocking like 3-4 of them
I don’t know if NPC Jedi have different deflections from player ones but 1 thing I noticed when playing, the engineer shotgun actually does damage to Jedi even when they are guarding. It made the final campaign mission so much easier
It's lore accurate, too. In one of the books Luke deflected the shot of an AT-AT back at it. On the note of also being lore accurate... I loved the time one of Luke's trained Jedi used the Force on a fleet of Star Destroyers in orbit and pushed them out of the solar system lol.
