It was brought to my attention last night that I made a mistake in editing at 7:36 . Because of this it looks as if I cleaned or installed the processor twice. This is not the case.
I just purchased an i7-3770 from eBay, it's scheduled to arrive in two days. I'll be swapping out the i5-3570 in my SFF OptiPlex 7010 so this video was helpful. Have you noticed any real world improvement in performance?
great video! what do you think about painting it black on the inside and adding some RGB fan? I happen to have both things, so I'm thinking about it. Regards!
Hi, I just purchased a Dell Optiplex 7010 MT that hasn't shipped yet. It comes with 4GB of RAM, but I plan to add an additional 6GB. It has a 3rd-gen Core i5 processor and a 270-watt power supply. I intend to use it for browsing and playing video games, such as Life is Strange, The Walking Dead, Valorant, Silent Hill, and other games that don't require high-end specs. I'm feeling a bit nervous because some people say it's not ideal for gaming. Do you think I made a mistake? I hope to hear from you soon.
Hello there friend. I believe you made a good decision to purchase the Optiplex 7010. You can add a graphics card and up to 16GB of RAM. If you want to game, I recommend a graphics card for sure. A gtx 1050, 1050 ti, 1650, or 1650 ti would work great in that system. Also, a Sata 3 SSD will make load times much faster.
@@PCBasics Do you think I can play the games I mentioned with my current specs? I'm not expecting top performance; 30fps should be okay for me for story games that don't require high specs.
@@PCBasics I used to own an HP ProBook 4530s with 6GB of RAM and a 2nd-gen Core i5 processor. In Valorant, I used to get 35-50fps. Life is Strange 1 ran at 28-35fps, and Silent Hill 1 was smooth because it's a PS game. The Walking Dead ranged from 40-60fps. You know what? I might be able to achieve better gaming performance with a desktop PC. I guess laptops don't offer the same level of performance as desktops, Plus my desktop processor is better. It will be here on Sunday; we'll see.
I purchased an I7 3770 for my Optiplex 7010 Mini Tower and I am getting Amber blinking lights I Believe I got the wrong processor for this build sadly.
Hey man i came across your video! May i ask what screwdriver you used to remove coolor? Because i tried replacing mine and i did not have the correct screwdriver.
@@PCBasics found a tossed out Dell 7010 but it fell off the edge of the dumpster! One part of the case frame (top corner to about 4" down or so) got bent! Not bad but the side panel won't fit properly, & the front cover (also got broke!) won't fit properly!! 🤬😡 Think it's possible to straighten it out enough.
@@PCBasics looked closer at the case and the one corner is worse than I thought. I did a short test on the 7010, works, has Win 10 Pro, 8 GB RAM, 500 GB HDD, Intel i7 3770 3.4 Ghz. Also have a Dell Vostro PC but doesn't work. So might take the system from the Optiplex & transplant it in the Vostro case! 🤓
I have two issues right now maybe you can help me the first problem is that i have a Intel core i7 - 3770 CPU at 3.40 GHz and I did a PC health check and it's saying that it doesn't support Windows 11 and Windows 10 is going to end in October I believe so I'd like to know what processor is good for that? also I would like to play Boulder's gate 3 and the frames are kind of lagging so I was wondering what I could upgrade to make that game experience better?
@@idontknowwhatimdoingsims3075 you would need an 8th gen Intel processor or above to get Windows 11. There are work arounds to get Windows 11 on non supported systems. You would want to have 16GB of DDR3 and a dedicated GPU to get higher frames.
That's what I need to do, do you have a GPU to recommend? I have the i7 CPU, looking for a GPU I wouldn't have to replace the power supply to use. Also already running a SSD.
