Last I heard of Delonte, he was at a rehab facility that Mark Cuban put him up in. I had assumed he had been doing well since then. Had no idea that he went back to the streets that same year (2020). So sad. I feel for the guy. Mental health issues are no joke.
I actually bumped into D West last week. I see him often at a gas station in the DC area asking for help (money). The guys he happened to be with seemed like they're up to no good (like they're out asking for money to get drugs). I'm no judge, but if I had to guess, he seems to be down bad at the moment. I highly doubt him or the guys he rolls with go anywhere near any kind of rehab.
@@kashifkelley8235 yeah, I doubt he's been back in rehab since Mark Cuban helped put him in one. If he don't want to get well himself then there is nothing that anyone could do for him. He's got to want to be better.
Sad, I saw him too shaking his head. He don't know what delante going thru. If you've never been in addiction don't judge. It's harder than people think
He's a hardcore drug addict, nothing more nothing less. I have an uncle like this. I've lost count of how many "interventions" that guy has had, yet he just goes back to his old habits everytime and he's like 50 now.
People here really acting like sleeping with LeBron's mom is some life changing event lol. Even if it did happen, it had nothing to do with how Delonte ended up on the streets.
He chose this life pal you can’t help someone who don’t wanna help themselves even mark cuban tried 3 times this his fault and his actions no one else’s
I always heard that his family has his money and controls it. I don't think they let him blow it. Dude has a major drug problem but also he has mental issues that the family has always known about so I don't actually believe he ever controlled his own money. He played here in cleveland for several years.
If a person is mentally ill like that it's really really difficult to help. They keep getting themselves in trouble. And they can't stop themselves, that's the worst part. I've experienced this with my brother. Took years before we could finally help him + him being "ready" to be helped (coincidence because he got physically ill too and didn't really have any other options). He almost died a few times cus he mentally couldn't take care of his physical illness, despite help from institutions that looked after him. Takeaway, if someone doesn't want to help themselves, it's because they can't, they simply can't think straight like you and I. It's just sad. But 9/10 times there's nothing you can do for them except to be there when the time is right.
First, Mark Cuban privately hires someone to have you jumped and hires someone else to record it. Later on, he hired someone to record himself helping you in public. Surveillance is crazy.
Sad to see man.. He earned 23.5 Million over his career in the NBA. Makes you wonder where all the money went. The only thing that makes sense is bling, cars, alcohol, drugs, women, until it was all gone..
@@davidparon3343 he spent most of his money buying his family & friends houses & nice cars. Paid for their college tuitions. Not only his family but his friends & friend’s families schooling tuitions & houses. Gave them money every month/year. Opened businesses for them. Paid off their debts. Like i said not just a couple family members & 1-2 friends. All his family & friends’ families too. He helped everyone he knew out just for them to turn their shoulders on him when his mental health problems started really taking a toll on him. Watched him spiral out of control on drugs & didn’t even attempt to help him. Then left him homeless after it all.
@@davidparon3343 he didn’t go & splurge on an extravagant, luxurious, & high end lifestyle. Yea he bought nice houses & cars obviously he was in the nba but, he wasn’t spending crazy amounts of money on chains, women, booze, clubs, & things you’re thinking of.
All his teammates/friends could at least round up some cash and make sure him and his family got a home or at least a trailer + some daily food service program(sustenance)......I wouldn't feel okay if that was my friend.
I mean Johnny Manziel blew through 10+ mil in less than 3 years doing the same shiii but he has a supportive family with a little money to crawl back to
Thats sucks. I dont really feel bad for him. He doesn't need that. I wont pray for, not for me to make that gesture. But i hope this guy gets back up. If he had a support/fund site, ill check it out and given him some direct support. Wasnt a big fan, but he was a great talent.
He should have just stayed away from these greedy women like most of these players should, once he gets enough of them pregnant those child support and alimony payments will make him broke once he stops playing, especially without a great backup plan.
As respectfully as I can say this, ive been in the barbershop with this guy (Chester Plummer out of Dodge Park Barbershop) and use to hear him brag and tell stories bout gettin sniffy with it. Hard to feel sorry for a coke head.......
