Seeing MiYa from Smash Con 2023 to Delta 8 really shows how much he has prioritized his health. He looks like he isn’t underweight anymore, his hair looks great, and he seems much happier. Good for MiYa man

The angle on the english stream doesnt do justice to the pop off at the end. Acola fortnite dancing and miya hitting his head on the table was probably my favorite pop off this year

This tourney had upsets all around, crazy runs and NA underperforming (even Sparg0 got 13th) And in the end we still end up with Miya vs Acola finals And it also ends in the most Game 5 Acola way possible lol

I know it’s Steve GnW and both characters are bs snoozemonsters, but i have to give it up. Miya and acola are goated. Even though it’s 2 “lame” characters in a “lame” matchup, you can really appreciate the evolution of their respective counter plays against eachother. It may be blasphemous to call this the new “leo vs tweek” bc of the character choices, but the meta is what it is and we have to look past that. I hope NA has Some better draws and and show up big at Kag, but delta 8 was a joy! Big shout out to all the players and everyone else who helped make it happen. GLHF to everyone at Kagaribi!

Is Steve with diamond like joker with arsene without a timer? I feel like diamond is wayyyy to powerful and Steve is also too heavy for how he is

correct me if im wrong but i'm pretty sure even without the up-air clank, the bair still would've hit. gnw ftilt lasts for 10 frames, and after the clank, miya got hit on frame 10, which means ftilt still would've been out. i think bair just reaches low enough to hit gnw anyway, so it still would've ended with an acola win in that last moment. Plus, even if it did hit, that's the weak hit of ftilt, so its possible acola would still have lived.

I don't care that block was cheap af at the end, absolute robbery. I mean both are good players and played godlike to make it so close game 5, but that is a really unfair mechanic. At such percents that should be untechable or the block should be destroyed on impact. Still that meme of Miya slamming on the table at the end is pretty funny ngl.

Great plays by both of them. Steve should weigh less, and his attacks should have less knockback. It's too easy for Steve to get kills from stray anvil or minecart hits, and those attacks bear little to no risk when using them. I know G&W is a lightweight, but why should steve survive a down smash at 130% from middle stage while G&W dies to a stray anvil at 70% also from mid-stage? This is ridiculous.

I like this fight: Two of Japan's best fighting each other in a final, they both admire and respect each other a lot, one of them considered the best in the world currently by many; EACH ONE USING THEIR FAVORITE OR THE BEST CHARACTER IN THE GAME CURRENTLY, which coincidentally, are literally the extremes of two eras, two faces, completely different and far from each other, but ironically, despite that time difference, they have very similar ways: one is a classic, a living relic, practically one of the first "characters"/video games of all time, Mr. Game & Watch vs. a character from the post-modern and pre-modern era of video games, who was "born" in the era of the Internet and the stream and does not stop (although he also has his years behind him), none other than Steve de Minecraft, a game for children and teenagers, a game for this younger generation. The similarity between the two? They are such silly but fun or at least cartoonish characters with their respective shapes and styles, not only aesthetics, but also their movements and attacks. AND BOTH ARE STRONG. And to make it even better, this final battle of this Tournament between these two is done on a map called, literally, Final Destination. It is a fight of two worlds separated, but at the same time, so connected to each other in some way, in an epic battle of dominance between the old and the new, between the simple and the complex. It's so poetic.

Steve has way to many things that save him. Miya should have won this. Nothing against Acola but Miya had to work so hard to kill Steve.

Acola is the only steve main in the top, its not the character thats broken its alcoa is goated, thats like saying joker is broken because mkleo is goated, no these players are really good themselves, and most of the matches are close call games, not one sided sweeps, yal never seen metal knight in brawl. Thats called broken till everyone in top 8 plays that character, acola is the only steve main in top 8 and he has to even take secondary pyra mythra just to beat some swordies like spargo. Steve dosent win all matchups. Also steve diamond is +35% damage boost, Joker’s arsend is 50%-100% damage boost on his moves. To say that steve has arsend permanent is wrong, and diamond has a 50 hit limit till it breaks. Oranges and apples different. and some steve tech is not only for steve but other characters can use it as well, such as FDA, foot stool down air, just most players don't use these tech cause its not as op for their character. but that just means that acola puts in so much more effort on his character to make it viable. Things like CRUD, reverse down throw up tilt. you don't know how many tech acola is doing because you don't play steve to know he is putting in so many tech. to you it looks fluent and smooth.

0:24 VHS bug. Anyway, G&W is more bearable to watch than Sonic but having said that Sonix will return and 3-0 Acola for the umpteenth time.

I think imma stop giving my views to Steve games, if Steve is gonna win tournaments then Steve can kill the scene too. Steve is boring because you know he has the tools to just win at any time and most likely will. Not worth my time to watch

I just feel like smash has lost it's hype.. I feel like I don't see exciting plays or out thinking as much as we used to. Maybe it's just me and I don't get the game anymore. But seeing Miya just do 3 raw up smashes in row and it working just kills it for me. Watching acola just walk forward spamming up tilt for a kill confirm... where is the hype in that? this is just boring to watch. Two players spamming their best options. Maybe smash ultimate has been around too long and all the characters have been optimized to absolute max and that is why it looks boring to watch. Also the games take way too long to boot
