The latest RRF introduced a couple of new features. One is 8/9 factor calibration. 8 factor calibration compensates for bed tilt about the x and y axes (in addition to the usual 6 factors). 9 factor includes diagonal rod length (like 7 factor), which I don't use. It also has multipoint probing, which probes the same point 2 or more times until the deviation in trigger heights is less than a user-defined limit. Have you tried these?

Thanks for the reminder. 8/9 was introduced back in 1.16 as experimental. I believe that tilt should only be used as a last resort, it is not that difficult to get delta towers parallel and that would be the preferred path. That said, I am building a custom delta now that is designed so that I can introduce all sorts of geometry issues and test the effect on probing/calibration results. As for multipoint probing, yes that was introduced in 1.21 and works quiet well. I am using it on a CoreXY with a BL Touch probe. I tested it on deltas with FSR and the SmartEffector but so no significant improvement so I don't use it on these machines.

Hi Michael, i get the taco effect? my results like outer= +.10 | -.10| +.10 | -.15 | +.10 | +0.1 , what is causing to this taco effect ? how to resolve the problem? Thanks for great tutor.

What software do you use for accessing bed.g?

Hi Michael, I found your website when searching information about calibration issue with my Ultibots KV250 and the Duet3D Wifi. After reading your post, I'm interesting in having you advise about this calibration results: 22:22:33M98 P"0:/macros/Calibration/Bed calibration report" G32 bed probe heights: 0.027 0.084 -0.009 -0.068 -0.021 0.130 -0.001 -0.130 -0.001 0.127 -0.019 -0.113 -0.012 -0.014 -0.007 -0.008 -0.020 -0.005 0.024, mean -0.002, deviation from mean 0.064 22:21:36M98 P"0:/macros/Calibration/Bed calibration report" G32 bed probe heights: 0.012 0.074 -0.014 -0.063 -0.011 0.120 -0.001 -0.130 -0.001 0.127 -0.019 -0.108 -0.017 -0.024 0.003 -0.008 -0.025 0.005 0.029, mean -0.003, deviation from mean 0.061 22:20:28M98 P"0:/macros/Calibration/Bed calibration report" G32 bed probe heights: -0.008 0.084 -0.014 -0.053 -0.021 0.120 -0.011 -0.120 -0.006 0.127 -0.009 -0.113 -0.017 -0.024 0.008 -0.008 -0.015 0.010 0.029, mean -0.002, deviation from mean 0.061 The deviation looks too high. On the edge the first layer doesn't stick. When I did a mesh grid compensation, I can see what's wrong. But I don't understand where this is coming from. www.dropbox.com/s/upowdqkmf396fyt/Mesh%20Grid%20Heightmap.jpg?dl=0 Thank you for your help.

You don't mention what probing system your printer has but knowing Ultibots and looking at the data I would guess FSRs. It looks to me like your bed is not completely unconstrained and is binding slightly during probing in some areas. You really need to go through the probing one point at a time and make sure the bed is not snagging on the mounts, that none of the mounts are loose (a common problem), and that the effector/hot end are not loose. Good luck!

Sorry, that's FSR. What do you mean by probing one point at a time. I already done this to measure trigger height for each probing point. I had double check the bed and the hothead and nothing is moving. Thank you.
@AHackOfAllTrades
@AHackOfAllTrades 5 лет назад
@@vialdeo the bed is likely binding on the mounts slightly, that leads to asymmetric probe results and poor calibration like your data indicates. Try this - back off the clamps completely so the bed is just sitting on the FSRs and then run auto cal.

I have completely removed the hot bed and put directly the glass on the 3 FSR. And I have also completely adjust all the aluminium frame. Unfortunately the issue is still the same. www.dropbox.com/s/fca989ofcsdkbej/Image%20639.jpg?dl=0 I reduced the aera mesh grid from radius 120 to radius 110, which gave the same issue and then to radius 90 which gave this very good result. www.dropbox.com/s/wevhsm1sy4q7rnp/Image%20640.jpg?dl=0 I'm lost !

@@vialdeo Ok, so with the bed just sitting on the FSR pads, if you get the same poor calibration results it is time to look at the motion mechanics. Start with belts, are they all evenly tight? Did you use my belt tension method in the build guide? Are your belts still at the target frequency? Make sure the carriages are adjusted properly and not sloppy or too tight. Then check the steppers to make sure the mounts are not loose AND check the pulley set screws. Check the TOP pulleys too to make sure they are not loose. It really takes diligence and careful attention to detail to chase down these sorts of issues. You should be able to get to 0.03 deviations.
