The leitmotif is the green room, is not It's raining somewhere else, but rather Hip Shop, the song that plays in Rouxles and Swatch's shops. They have a similar sound but but not the same leitmotif as it's raining somewhere else is just sans' leitmotif
I think the connection is still important. For example, if a song suddenly used the Gaster piano, we'd still have a very strong connection to Gaster's Theme even if the leitmotif wasn't there. It'm not an expert either, but it seems like the song is using an altered version of the bells from It's Raining Somewhere Else.
Also the undertale theme in that song is lovely...with the gaster theme plus now an actual undertale theme it makes u wonder wat is gonna happen in ch 4 so much more

A green room is a backstage room for a stage performance, so the room associated could be connected to the stage previously shown or some other mysterious stage.
it is likely Kris and Asriel's room in the light world, which I theorize is near the final stage where the final boss occurs, while Toriel's room becomes the secret boss area

I knew it was the RC’s shop theme remix immediately. There’s not much that’s changed except instrumentation. That being said it still sounds lovely. Though the butler shop in chapter 2 also uses a very similar theme. Maybe this is just the theme of elegant men.
When I saw the description for hometown day with “after the dark night” i immediately went to Seam, who told us at the end of chapter 2 we shouldn’t stay in the dark world when the sun goes down, I think somethings gonna be special about this chapter set during the night! Also something to note, the new saxophone player (very cool design BTW, my theory is hes one of the figures from the living room windowsills in Toriels house) is what brings the don’t forget motif into the new castle town theme. It makes sense that this new character would play it since the other characters are from the cyber world, and with the exception of the roaring, don’t forget as a motif wasn’t used in the cyber world! I think the absence of don’t forget in the majority of chapter 2 is very intentional for that chapters themes, and I expect the motif to make a major comeback in chapter 3 and beyond!

Interestingly, according to the wiki, they only bring it up if you've recruited 9+ characters from Cyber World. If not, they just leave it at "By the by, it's growing late, isn't it?" Guess they're not quite as charitable to a more violent Fun Gang. All in all, I wouldn't read too much into the line if not for the fact it comes literally right before the nighttime dark fountain.

No, not like this. Gaster’s is 4 consistent notes. This is an extrapolation of the hopes and dreams motif if you ignore the low notes. It plays at the start of undertale and during the Asriel fight
Something tells me that chapters 3,4,5 are going to seamlessly transition to each other rather than the cliffhangers we got for chapter 1 and 2 and that's probably why Toby wants to release them all together
Okay so we have a lot to unpack here. The lack of Ch3 shots for one implies that there's a lot of stuff they probably can't show there as it's all too important. Maybe it takes place entirely in the dark world? There's probably gonna be some scenes with Kris' family in Ch4, which is probably what brought on Susie's nice comment. Hanging out with her is gonna be fun, looking forward to that. (Also I'm pretty sure that thing in QC's with the red bow might be that black slime in the MTT Resort). The funny guy playing the sax... first thing that came to my mind when I saw him was film noir and gritty detective shows. I'm assuming he's gonna be a miniboss in Chapter 3 if that's the case. Speaking of, I am now 100% convinced that Ch3 will (at least mostly) take place in a TV themed world and I am convinced that "Mike" is the villain. There's the TVs in the green room for one, but also a "green room" is a place in a theatre where performers wait in before shows. I was always wondering how Toby would differentiate "Mike" from Mettaton, since I'd imagine they'd have a similar gimmick, so I'd imagine Ch3 will focus on different genres of TV shows/films (eg detective, maybe a monster movie like the one Kris and Susie were watching, etc). The doors in the green room are also shaped like funny "M"s, which could also be hinting at Mike. There's also a Maus in the background, which might imply Cyber World darkners would be compatible in this dark world? I think the most notable detail however is the seats. The left one looks shiny and untouched, while the right one is discoloured and cracked. Brings to mind a certain room in Kris' house... not to mention the box of knives... But yeah just wanted to expand on some stuff you'd find interesting lol, probably gonna post these elsewhere too (also the laugh during the Queen part had me sobbing 😭)
I was looking at this today, and happened to look back at the theory about the bosses for each chapter corresponding to chess pieces. 3 of them are already accounted for and the rest make sense (a Bishop for the Angel? A pawn in a game about agency?) but I was trying to figure out how a rook figures into it. Was looking at the definition, and saw that another definition for rook is someone who cheats at games. Thought of Spamton warning us that "Mike" was a liar and a criminal. Suddenly the detective motif makes a lot of sense. And a really dark aesthetic fits a zone that should correspond to Waterfall if the zones of Deltarune keep corresponding to Undertale zones in reverse. If I had to guess, maybe "Mike" will be committing crimes in the 3rd dark world, maybe this detective guy will attack us because he thinks we're the culprit, and we have to convince him that we're innocent. Eventually he'd be exposed... since Spamton sometimes injects the wrong word into his speech, his name may not actually be Mike, to keep up the mystery. But, who knows. I guess it sort of suits the context too, where we would assume Kris is the knight now but a lot of people are skeptical, we've seen them open one dark fountain, it doesn't mean they opened the others.

Maybe he's like Gus from Breaking Bad - a normal businessman on the outside (though Mike would have much more connections, probably controls the TV industry) but in reality is a kingpin of crime. I'm rambling but you get the idea xd

How about this: Remember how Queen kinda followed us almost everywhere in ch2? I think that similar thing will happen in ch3 with Mike but he will follow us by watching us through the TV's that will be everywhere or almost everywhere.

Well, there definitely will be some dark stuff though... especially if you'll be playing on a weird route save file. Also, this might not be significant but i wonder why Toby didn't decide to put any screenshots with Noelle in them.
The green room is most likely Kris's room and that makes me wonder. That would mean that the fountain opened in the living room turned the entire house into a dark world. And more importantly, why is the room so small? Its easily as big as the unused classroom in the light world and yet in the dark world it barely changed in size. Maybe it's only a part of it? Or perhaps the size of a dark world is determinded by something other that the light world version? It's possible that the room right after this contains some boss fight. Makes me think we're gonna see Asriel's unfinished game in some way as well.
the unused classroom is presumably not much bigger than a school supply closet, but castle town is TINY compared to the entirety of card kingdom! i imagine it's all vibes-based
Maybe there's a limit to how big a Dark World can be off of a single Dark Fountain so it adapts to the space used as a base, with Kris's entire house (and whatever happens to the outside) being pretty big. Could also be influenced by the will of the fountain's creator. As was suggest and is pretty likely, that it's simply based off of the vibes of each room and object, maybe it could also kinda be somewhat random outright, even.
the fact that they’ve already finished more than 1/3 of the new chapters means that they can get them all out in less time than chapter 2 took- that’s crazy

One thing I thought was interesting that I stumbled upon earlier this year is an old Fangamer panel from 2013 when they were just starting out. The same dads were on stage and they interviewed Toby. Toby was VERY charming and funny and pretty good at acting. Then he fell behind the couch and turned into the (a cardboard cutout of) Annoying Dog. Nobody knew who he was or what kind of bit he was doing. Toby has been friends with these guys for 10 years and they both achieved massive success independently of each other!
Despite your estimate of 2026, I think 2025 would make more sense, as they said development has been getting "smoother and smoother," plus, how epic would it be if all of Deltarune was completed *on the 10th anniversary* of Undertale? Also, the music that has the "It's raining somewhere else" motif also sounds like it might have the drum line of Death by Glamor?

Chapter 1 gave us what I like to call the “Chara cop out” chapter 2 gave us the presumable identity of the knight as well as a tease on chapter 3’s main villain. Chapter 5, being the last chapter to release before the final release, and as such being the last one to give us a cliffhanger to leave us speculating on for years, will probably make it extra crazy. It’ll probably be either A. Asriel coming back home B. Something to do with Dess’ disappearance/death C. Gaster reveal

The doors are house-shaped and we only find those cactuses in Toriel's house (both in UT and DR). The couch resembles Kris' room, with the left green side representing Asriel. Ch3 might take place in a dark world not only based on TV, but on the entirety of the house, being obviously taken over by Mike/Rook/theTV. Could be a nice parallel to how the television used to be the centre of attention and information in houses before internet appeared (just like a rook is vital to the chessboard only if the queens are already out of the game). Do not take anything for granted though. I think Toby is too original and subversive to let Ch3 play out exactly as we imagine. The final boss, Mike or not, will be an original character and not another quiz guy/Mettaton clone.

My reaction to Jaru analysing was “bruh the song was called Don’t Forget and you forgot it 😂” My reaction to the song was to listen to the first 10 seconds and then skip to the end in case it got evil halfway through, which was justified considering it was midnight and my tired brain seemed more fitting to analyse the images and videos so I gave the songs little attention.
This was a very good breakdown. Noticed a few new things. And to put in my two cents on the new recruit in the band. He reminds me of a band player you see on those night live shows. So maybe chapter 3 Oh also I cannot wait for the 3 chapters drop and all content creators losing their minds playing and making videos on the new stuff. It's gonna be a unique experience for sure. It won't. Because "Snowgrave" doesn't have any importance to the plot of Deltarune. It is the name of Noelle's fatal attack, and since its use is pivotal to the permanance of the after effects of Deltarune in Noelle's character, the fanbase has nicknamed the "Wierd route" by the "Snowgrave" route.

I'm pretty interested to see how the Weird Route's going to progress. I have an inkling that it's not going to be as simple as manipulating one character to kill another each chapter - that could get formulaic quite quickly. Personally I think Toby's gonna fast one in the future chapters and make a Wierd Route impossible (or at least, impossible to *complete* ) in the Dark World section of a future chapter, forcing you to get your [HYPERLINK BLOCKED] from the Castle Town or even the Light World. Almost like the game itself sees what you're pulling and is trying to stop you. The Genocide Route was full of curveballs like this, so i seriously doubt the WR's going to go as people expect.
I agree. When you did the genocide route in undertale, it was like the entire itself game was against you and kept trying everything to make you stop. In the ruins it tried to scare you with the music and the text, in snowdin it tried to make you feel bad for what you’ve done with papyrus and others, the game tried to make you quit with a hard boss fight in waterfall with undyne, in hotland it was boredom with the high kill encounter, and finally sans literally breaks the game’s rules to try and stop you. Deltarune is no different. It tried to trick you in chapter 1 by thinking it wasn’t even an option and making it to where you gotta jump through so many hoops to do it in chapter 2 that it sounds like an old playground rumor or creepypasta someone made up.
@@Crackedcripple To be clear, if the WR's going to involve Castle Town or Real World shenanigans, I don't think it'd involve Kris brandishing a knife and killing people. I'd imagine it'd be less direct but still morally heinous - like getting someone fired or ruining friendships. Afterall, LOVE and EXP in Undertale were simply ways to measure your capacity to inflict pain, and who said that can't be emotional pain? I've also had this idea where Noelle continues to try and find out whats happening with Kris/the voice commanding him, but she can't speak to him while the voice is present so she takes a trick from Ralsei and diverts the player's attention the way Ralsei did in the Ch 1 prison and ch 2 castle.

In the Green Room, the 2 couches are very reminiscent of Kris and Ralsei's room, down to the color. The green couch is in pristine condition while the blue couch is ripped up and faded.
I had a bit of a heart attack when I saw deltarune stuff in my feed. Was expecting *something* today, but not this much. My Funky Town is a straight up bop, and Tasque Manager, Sweet, K.K., and mystery sax man performing on stage is the best thing I've seen all week.
17:40 I think the character with the red bow might be Shambling Mass from Undertale (the black slime creature at MTT resort). They have not appeared in Deltarune yet but wear a very similar bow and have a black head. 32:00 I believe the shadow man is a character from chapter 3. The cafe is for interacting with already recruited characters and if the gif is from chapter 4, the shadow man must have appeared before then. It might be part of the TV thematic (e.g. part of an ingame advertisement or something similar). Or maybe it's one of the cardboard figures on the windows of the kitchen? 41:00 I'm pretty sure that the green room screenshot is from chapter 3. First of all, a green room is a waiting room before theatrical performances, which fits chapter 3's theme. The screenshot also has a lot in common with Kris' and Asriel's room: two couches (one bright and unscathed, the other grey and damaged), stars on the walls, and monitors with a computer mouse (or maus in the dark world). The knives could be Kris's possession, as you already speculated. There is also the same kind of cactus as in Toriel's house.
As “music expert” I can deduce that the theme lietmotif of green room is “hip shop”. Though I wouldn’t blame you for not remembering, or knowing At all.

for the hometown day song. the later part of the song sounds a lot like a festival. which makes sense since i believe that the next day is meant to be a festival. i could be wrong that it was the next day. but it was definitely mentioned that there was going to be a festival and that the mayor was busy setting it up. also i wonder if the silhouette guy in the my funky town image is actually a silhouette or if they just made him look like that for the spoiler to make it so we don't know what he looks like. i feel like toby would have a more creative way to sensor it though knowing him.
Apparently no one in these comments has caught on to this yet (I checked with ctrl+f), but Suzie's dialogue in the diner doesn't just confirm Toriel involvement in Ch3. She says "family" not just "mother" as you would expect if she were referring just to Toriel. This implies that at least one other Dreemurr has a significant amount of interaction with Suzie over the course of chapters 3 and 4. Asriel, to our knowledge, is not present in the town at this point (I know the near-complete confirmation we have of this isn't enough for some theorists, but that kind of twist just doesn't seem like Toby to me.) and Suzie doesn't know about Ralsie's familial significance, leaving only (assuming that more distant relations not present in Undertale aren't suddenly going to appear out of nowhere - again, doesn't seem like Toby.) Asgore. We know that Toriel doesn't want Asgore anywhere near her at this point in this timeline, so him just showing up at her house to take part in chapter 3 seems unlikely. So most likely we're going to have significant Asgore involvement in chapter 4, perhaps paralleling chapter 3's arc with Toriel. Since chapter 3's dark fountain is being created literally in her living room, we're almost definitely going to have Toriel in the dark world with us then. Therefore (assuming parallelism) it's likely that we will also spend chapter 4's dark world segment with Asgore. This logically leads to a very interesting question: what will Asgore look like in the dark world? His Undertale armor and trident would certainly match the fantasy aesthetic that most dark world designs have established, but due to different circumstances in Deltarune he's actually a far different character here, and one would expect his dark world loadout (which we have all but confirmed is drawn pretty much directly from the imagination and/or personality of the lightner) to reflect that. Thoughts?
(it is also possible that Susie just follows Kris again in chapter 4's light world segment and that dialogue only happens if you visit the diner after visiting the flower shop. )
I had the same thoughts (about Asgore) and I'm imagining a sprite similar to his Undertale sprite, but give him nature spirit vibes, take away the fire magic and give him plant magic, have him hold a gardening rake while entering the dark world so that it turns into a trident, make him a literal Flower King
13:45 this sounds more like one of the Motifs found in Once Upon A Time, Hopes and Dreams, and Title Screen (full). It's got too much of a progression to be Gaster's theme. 37:00 this motif is not from It's Raining Somwhere Else, but from the Cool Shop theme run by Roulx in chapter 1.
I don't blame you for seeing gaster's theme in hometown day, I'm 80% sure that the secret boss motif in spamton's hop and jevil's prison is in the regular hometown theme
37:28 Im pretty sure this is more of a motif of Rouxls kards’ theme from chapter one. If you go back and listen to it, they are almost one for one, with this one being a bit more slowed down and smooth, like elevator music.

I kinda love how Toby almost single handedly made one of the most beloved and critically acclaimed games of all time, but he's only kinda now learning the ropes of software engineering and project management, which he seems to be nailing productivity-wise. I think his next game after Deltarune should step into the 3D realm

Temmie helped out but most of the sprite art was made by Toby himself, which is the opposite for Deltarune where Temmie is pretty much the art director.

For the green room’s description it says “cutting-edge entertainment”, and I didn’t realize this before but that might actually be a pun lol. It’s either a pun on the way the dark world was made(I believe that’s chapter 3’s dark world that Kris made with their knife), or a fight could happen in that room

Okay don't quote me on this but I think the "gaster" motif you hear might just be supposed to be reminiscent of the "Undertale" main theme but like the later portions? It's certainly in a similar key or being played by a similar instrument I may be wrong tho
I don't know if you forgot, but the speaker guy you're referring to in 29:04 is Sweet from Sweet Cap'n Cakes, the robot hip-hop guys we see in chapter 2, and I think in here he's probably playing that slap bassline in the track, which also made me realize he does kinda look like a subwoofer, which is a type of speaker that plays bass frequencies. As for the sax player, your speculation on them being based on that 80's MacDonald's commercial with that moon character, (who is actually called 'Mac Tonight' ) makes a lot of sense to me, because in Undertale, Flowey has voicelines which are ripped from a 90's Macdonald's commercial, so it wouldn't be surprising if Toby did this again. In general, Toby seems to have a thing with referencing old commercials and things of that nature (I mean, Spamton is literally the personification of aggressive advertisement), for example, in chapter two, Spamton mentions someone named Mike, and uses the words 'big shot' Because of this, it's generally speculated among the community that this is a reference to a 1997 (that pretty much confirms it) commercial for 'Big Shot' soda, where a football coach named Mike Ditka appears. Nice analysis regardless! As soon as I saw this, I read it for myself first, and I had a constant smile looking through it, also it made me feel that Toby is kinda teasing us with putting chapter tags in the files, and seemingly not showing anything for Chapter 3, because the ending for chapter 2 was substantial to say the least, and I have been dying to see what happens after that ending cutscene, also what implications the snowgrave route could bring, but I guess I'll just have to wait a bit more. Love your videos, I'll be there to watch the rest of your Spamton series.
Also if you open any image as a .txt file or .jpg file into a search engine you get a gif of the annoying dog sleep and when you tap on it it plays a new song! I tend to cycle through hyperfixations and have recently jumped headfirst back into my deltarune obsession after deciding to replay both chapters for the third (?) time. I live under a rock so I had NO IDEA about this preview or the spamton sweepstakes until today due to finding your channel just last night. Anyway I loved your elemental video (I got especially into thinking about where Kris, ralsei, and Susie would land apart from the known fact of Susie being rude) and have spent the last three hours in a state of PANICKED EXCITEMENT over the discovery all this new content. I'm just really digging the stuff you put out and I'm glad I found it and wanted to share!! Thanks!!
I'm glad we're getting more Lightworld stuff man (Which are gonna be in Ch4 according to the filenames). Also something tells me that Ch4 is gonna be a lengthy one (Or just a lot of optional stuff) because we have all this lightworld stuff probably before the Darkworld, and then we have the actual Ch4 Darkworld, and after that the lightworld stuff again PLUS Castle Town things. What makes me kind of convinced that there are gonna be lightworld stuff before the darkworld (unlike Ch1 and 2, and I guess 3 too?) is because in one screenshot of Ch4 it's raining and in another one it's not. So either it's gonna be raining before Ch4 Darkworld or after. And also we have Castletown stuff which is gonna make the chapter even longer, so kind of makes me think if the filenames might be little red herrings (Though I kinda doubt it, too?). You also have to consider that in Chapter 3 we're gonna be starting the Darkworld almost instantly (probably) and something else is that in the Ch3 day there is no school... and I guess it's also the case Ch4 maybe? but then how can Kris and Susie go in the Castletown in Ch4 (the Cafe screenshot said Ch4). Maybe we can still go to the school despite it being closed? Maybe after the Ch3 Darkworld Toriel gives us the school key or we get it somehow? Feel free to tell me if you have any ideas.
I was really surprised that you didn't mention gaster followers with the shadow guy. His stance immediately made me think of the guy that bought a donut/holding his face and his whole look reminds me of the gaster followers.

I interpret the darkner jazzman to be a silhouette. Like maybe he’s only all black and outlines because Toby isn’t ready to show what he looks like. I mean. He could just look like that but this is early stuff so we shouldn’t expect things to not be censored

38:38 this door looks exactly like that symbol from puzzle in queen's mantion. It had 5 different pieces: cloud, tide, sun, house and blue bird. This door looks like that house symbol.
I really do hope that Toby might be done by next year. Doesn't have to be, but, waiting for Deltarune as well as Tears of the Kingdom just feels really tiresome to wait. And reason why i think it will be 2023 is mainly because of the message "we've msotly gotten work done on chapter 3 and 4". Feels like it's gonna be awesome either way!
I just saw the images on the site, and it's just so cool! Seeing chapter 4 was so cool! This really gives me hope that we will see 3-5 as of next year! Toby mentions about almost being done with both 3 and 4, which really gives me hope that we are gonna get it soon! How do you feel about this Jaru?
I had originally tought it would be 2025, maybe early 2025 if lucky But now it really seems like 2024, and if the work keeps accelerating (which would be unlikely but who knows) a 2023 release could be possible Did Toby ever get that wrist surgery?

Green room sertainly uses Color Cafe leitmotif, I guess to underline the similarity between them ("cutting-edge" sleek and sterile service). Also it's raining somewhere else (if it is in there, personally its hard to hear for me) usage probably refers to the MTT restaurant the meeting with sans took place. Cyber world had a bunch of Mettaton related stuff, there is certainly will be more of that in ch. 3
