Thank you! An edifying privilege to view this important discussion on a relevant topic to the study of human behavior and mentality, and all associated disciplines.

Hello, my name is Max. I am an author and editor at Neuroclastic - a peer-led autism support and knowledge resource hub. If University of Birmingham is interested, would love to arrange a dialogue between research experts and representatives from the autistic community themselves. There's a saying nothing about us without us, and many of us have thoughts that aren't wholly in alignment with what's being stated here. We want to be equal stakeholders and representatives in building knowledge about autism, instead of simply being your "subjects". Happy to chat.

I agree with Max's assessment commented below. Here's my take: (1) We don't lack empathy and neither do psychopaths (I'm related to some) but rather we are hyper-empathic. (2) You guys are going on diagnosed psychopaths while the truth is most psychopathy is covered up by their family of origin (and they are then unleashed upon society with "normals").

Based on your thoughtful opinionated comment above, would hyper-empathy then be an explanation for sadism and cruel behavior in the psychopath? Would some personal/internal feelings and experiences of sadistic pleasure then heighten? The term "dark empath" comes to mind. Not certain of the definition, however.
