"As I traveled through the timestream, into what you would call the future, I came upon an impassable barrier. Such things are not uncommon. All great events leave their mark upon the timestream. But as I peered through this barrier, I saw nothing beyond. Only... emptiness. And I recognized the black hole for what it truly was... "The end of time."
Such a good looking figure. Jhiaxus was a wonderful surprise, and that transformation translates well for him. The original figure may be heftier but this one is a much more satisfying Transformer.
The alt mode is my main issue, its just not as accurate as it should be, they put the red paint in the wrong places and tbh they should have just done him as a new mold, 2025 is the year of the primes anyways so he'd fit in perfectly, plus he could have been repainted into an alpha trion which is always nice, jhiaxus should have been retooled into smth else
I can see him meeting [Galaxy Convoy] again and not knowing who he is, because of Whovian Time Lord wibbley wobbly, timey wimey shenanigans. Namely, Vector Prime is younger while [Galaxy Convoy] is older.
I personally like both uses of the mould. Jihaxus is often a static personality unless he's straight up choke slamming Megs and Optimus...kinda the Darkseid or Thanos of transformers. But yeah Vector is a warrior so his dynamic pose-ability makes sense lol.
I genuinely do not understand how so many people hate this figure. Pre-ordered this figure day one, and have zero regrets. Genuinely one of the best Legacy figures to date. The original Takara Vector Prime has been my holy grail for years, but I am flat broke. This figure, imo, and this may be a spicy take, is ALMOST as good as the Takara deco on the original figure, and makes me not want to get the old one anymore.
they hate it for a couple of reasons. It got remolded from an exisiting figure and its not what they wanted it to be. IMO its not bad, i preordered one and i am looking forward to adding it to my collection
A lot of UT fans are oddly entitled and get mad when new versions of their characters don’t come with every single spring loaded and flashing lights gimmick.
🎶 transformers robots in disguise (transformers 3x, go x2) the autobots wage thier battle to destroy the evil forces of the deceptiacons ( music intensifies ) transformers ( music fades out)
Already have this pre-ordered, and where I live it's currently estimated to ship out in August. Vector Prime is a character I have a weird spot of nostalgia for. I had the original Cybertron toy as a kid - I think it was a birthday present? I never watched Cybertron, so I had no idea who he was, but the toy was quite fun. I'm very excited to get this Legacy update. The Jhiaxus mould was a good fit for him IMO, and I've heard good things about said mould, so I'm excited to try it out. Also, your Nova Prime crew shelf looks awesome.
I wish he had the obvious leg coverings, both the clockwork spaceship and the ancient armored knight are harmed by their intrusion onto his appearance. I would also much prefer vambraces and bigger pauldrons to complete his look, but those aren't quite as distracting. Alas, if only he was a 4 mold retool instead of only 3. Thinking about it, I'm pretty sure every one of my favorite Transformers uses a melee weapon. Sword > gun, though both might fail against a halberd.
@@wassembashir2618 I have SS ROTF The Fallen aka Megatronus Prime, TLK Voyager Optimus Prime, and Baiwei SS KO Sentinel Prime. I posted a picture on my community posts of the figures if you want to take a look.
@@fennekin1750 I’m still kind of undecided when it comes to Hot Rod. I don’t really want Rodimus Prime because he’s too big and I ran out of space for my box. But I also want a version of the figure to help complete my Prime Dynasty collection. For sure TLK Hot Rod is not gonna cover it. Titans Return Hot Rod, I sold because he was too wonky compared to everyone else. 86 seems to be my only choice now.
I think just folding the tail fin underneath where you can still see it works for him, means the arm-bricks aren't the only thing down there and kinda helps his space-frigate look
I've still got the original in excellent condition - and I don't think I'll be swapping it for this one. It just isn't right for me - I think the mold isn't suitable and as you said, they should have made SOME effort to put cogs on the legs and just tweak the mold to remove the redundant empty joints from Jhiaxus' batwing ankle things. Maybe it's still owning the original that shades my opinion, but it just looks all wrong and like the designers just crammed it in to make the Jhiaxus mold more profitable. I'm glad the character is getting some new love and I enjoyed your review as much as always, but this one is a miss for me.
you know, you always stress about the fan being on, let me tell you, I never even noticed. and even after you pointed it out, I still didn't notice. don't worry, it's not as noticable or loud as you might think it is
Thanks for the review! About ten years ago I picked up the original version, even though I had never heard of the character, because he was gorgeous and cheap. Wait, this is starting to sound like a story about my ex-wife... Anyway, Cybertron Vector Prime and I are happily married, and although it looks like a good toy, I don't think I'll be dumping him for a younger model.
I stopped collecting Transformers back before Beast Wars came out. Seeing the posability of these new toys is freaking mind blowing, considering my G1 Optimus could bend at the elbows and that was about it.
I just got him. The first thing i did was fold his tailfin back down so it rests between his arms. It fits just fine because the pegs aren't in the middle for the arms. I'm surrprised you said you couldn't place them that way? Nice review though and comparison.
@ThatToyGuy - Love these reviews. So much character. It’s unfortunate that this cybertron vector prime did not get the intense love cybertron StarScream got.
I am glad tou like it but for me this is a dissapointment, he looks like bootleg Vector Prime who tries to pretend to be him but he is missing too many things for me. I admit it as a retool he is quite good but all other Cybertron Figures in Legacy have their own molds and all of them are amazing so why Vector Prime have to suffer and be just a retool? Maybe because we will get all 13 Primes soon so they won't give us now a Perfect figure of Vector Pfime so the people who bought this Vector Prime will also buy the newer one that will come out in year or two...I don't know but I am just dissapointed that from all character Vector Prime is the one who have to suffer
Jhiaxus’ head will always be a grumpy rooster face to me and for that reason I’m out. Vector Prime though is a core childhood memory and eill be in my collection ASAP
I liked the original one better, Did not need an update. He had it all. Missiles, Electronics. Cyber key actually worked. Now they don't. Plus smaller. Already lost one, Plus the original one is bigger then this one. I did not like the tail fin. He never had it. shame they did not retool that.
Potentially dumbass question, but is there some method to use on yellowed/greened plastic to not make it so severe? My Jhiaxus has gone green, and I am trying to figure out how to fix it. I know that it's probably not going to be as good as it once was, but it'll be better than what it is.
Idk if I got a bad figure or something, but almost every single joint on my Vector Prime is loose as all hell, and kinda ruined my opinion of it. Pain.
As someone who's very first TF figure was a secondhand OG Cyberverse Vector Prime in his weird specialty colors- I gotta get this new dude to have his actual colors. XD
Ngl i love that the transformation isnt just bending his legs backwards, but the way it has small pauldrons and no giant slab as cape. Also the sword is kinda tiny.
To whoever buys this Vector Prime, it might be a good idea not to cut off those hinge parts. If there's going to be some sort of upgrade set to this figure, it might utilize those hinge bits to hold some pieces in place to improve the look of the shins or something.
The only way ill pick up this figure is if an upgrade kit comes along and fixes those ugly ass back wings, if the wings were able to flatten out like the original toy then it wouldn't look so off to me
Original US versions. The Takara and Moccom(Korean) version uses a stiff plastic instead. On a side note, the Legacy's color palette is based on the versions of the toy I mentioned, rather than the bright white and brown of the OG US version.
