I believe that one of our lessons is to acknowledge ageism in the US. It is ironic that AOC is in support of Biden as she is one of the big speakers on the need for youthful leaders. I'm disappointed in him, too, but I hope he reconsiders and comes out to support Joe; he needs to realize not only what's at stake, but that he's allowing the mainstream media to influence his decision. His dad was a journalist and encouraged his kids to think independently. He needs to think about what would his dad do, and that today's journalists are somehow afraid of challenging Trump, and just because Joe had a poor debate, and it was because of Trump's "me, me, me" attitude.

As a lifelong journalist, the NYT was for years the golden standard in journalism, as was CNN. I am disgusted about their turn to the dark side. I too have canceled my subscription, which I held for more than 20 years. It's a disgrace. I have turned to podcasts and remain a faithful reader of the Washington Post and The Guardian. CNN is off my list as well, I highly recommend Meidas Touch, if you are interested in politics. Thank you so much for your wonderful work. You really put my mind to rest.

It appalls me to see how those that Biden helped get elected and stay in office, so quickly abandon him. He must be sad as he learns who his colleagues are who lack loyalty and integrity. I keep thinking about all the Presidents I have watched who have aged before our eyes as they handle the most challenging job in the world. George Clooney arrogantly stating that Biden is not the man he knew in 2020. Of course, he isn't. That job takes its toll. A bunch of "armchair quarterbacks grandstanding for a few minutes of fame " are pitiful. I cancelled the NYTimes after over 20 years. Some of the reporters are great, but I am sure they are being constrained. I am glad you are so positive about the road ahead for Biden. He does not deserve the harpies at his heels, but folks lifting him up and bringing him to another term. We certainly do not want to keep up the foolishness happening now. The Dems will just hand the Presidency and the county to trump.
