About the Panelists:
Bilal Gilani:
Bilal Gilani is Executive Director of Gallup Pakistan which is a survey and behaviour research lab working since 1980 in Pakistan. Bilal Gilani has a decade long experience surveying over 1 million Pakistanis and analysing data on various issues of public importance. Bilal has a post graduate degree from SOAS London and an undergraduate from LUMS.
Dr. Adnan Khan
Dr. Adnan Khan is an Infectious Diseases doctor and a Public Health researcher. He has been Adjunct Assistant Professor of Global Health and Policy at the Indiana and Vanderbilt Universities (in USA) and served as the Chief of the Health Policy Unit in Pakistan and an expert advisor to the UNODC, WHO, UNICEF and the World Bank. He currently leads a research consultancy Research and Development Solutions and also the Covid transition team at the Ministry of National Health Services Regulations and Coordination
Dr. Faisal Mahmood:
Dr Syed Faisal Mahmood is the section head of Infectious Diseases at the Aga Khan University Hospital where he also heads the Infection Prevention unit. He is currently coordinating the hospital response to COVID-19 at the hospital as well as working with the government in the national response to the virus. Dr Mahmood’s areas of expertise include HIV and he has been actively involved in investigating the recent HIV outbreak in Sind. He continues to work closely with the WHO and the provincial and national programs for HIV and is strong advocate for stigma reduction and prevention of HIV in our marginalized groups.
Dr. Wajiha Javed
Dr Wajiha Javed is a medical doctor and a public health specialist with 13 years of experience in the development sector. She is a demographer and epidemiologist by training and right now heading the public health and research department at Getz Pharma
