Hi, I live in Indonesia, dendrobium bigibbum is very popular here, almost everyone has it, because it is an easy-to-grow orchid, there is another type of dendrobium that is easy to grow here, namely the dendrobium superbien 😊

We love Indonesia 💕 Yo are so lucky to live in such a beautiful country . As far as I understand this is a naturally occuring hybrid between D,bigibum and D.discolour . What is the best way to remove the babies from the parent stems?

they often just snap off quite easily by using your thumb to push it sideways , if you push it down just be a little careful it does not pull a small sliver down the cane as you pull it off . If the root volume is low and the base of the mother cane is already dying I cut the cane and lay it flat or cut below the keiki so I can stand it , these I do with a little media so the keikis and cane dont dry out before the roots form properly

We are not sure , thinking this flowering one must be at least 4 years old , but I dont expect much older as there are not too many canes .
