I’ve had the prime go and prime 4 for about 2+ years now and I have to say it’s the best decision I made with these 2 choices. Prime go easy for the smaller gigs circa 200-250 people and then the prime 4 for the bigger setups for 300+ people. For small venues where you don’t have a lot of space or outdoors, the prime go is perfect. I actually over time got used to the jogs too and every now and again I’ll scratch a track in but agree it’s not for cutting and scratching as you would do on a turntable. The streaming integration for both the go and 4 are just amazing. I’ve built up all my crates within the streaming sites and can easily go and do a gig without having to carry any music….still remember those old days lugging around those heavy record crates…built up my arms and strength but damn carrying those up stairs to the 5th floor in a venue when the lifts are broken 😞. Good video 👍 and thanks for calling out that Denon was in clubs and making DJ tech before pioneer came on the scene. Still remember having the the CD mixers such as 2600F etc!
excellent video. thank you for mentioning how you felt about the pads. I feel the pads need to be comfortable to hit for a good couple hours since the jogs are small. the que buttons will kill it for me. I guess the only way to see is to buy one and return it within proper time frame if you don't like it. thanks for the detailed review
Good video. I don’t think you mentioned it will record your mixes. The Go has been my player for about a month now and I love it. I just do weddings and corporate gigs and never have scratched. Speaking of scratching, the finish on the player will scratch easily. Engine is very confusing. I use a pro x case and keep my microphone receiver stored under the go console. All my music is on a SD card and I stream Tidal when needed.
Unfortunately the Denon Prime Go or Prime 4 do not have the sampler feature. There is a work around. You can make a crate containing your samples then load them individually to a deck with cue points as triggers. Not the most convenient but it will work.
