How much does each denture cost?

Denture cost is worked into the fee a dentist charges. Dentures are labeled as medical devices and must be acquired with a prescription from a licensed dentist. The amount we charge the dentist to make the denture is unlikely to be what you are charged after visiting the dentist. All denture options listed are less than $600 total.

Hi! Im missing four molars in the upper jaw and Im thinking of using a metal partial denture but I have many doubts and fears. Can I chew and eat well with it? Do the clasps damage the healthy teeth where they are attached? Is it definitely a good option today?

Hi Emilio, Thank you for commenting! The metal clasps of a partial denture will cause some wear to your teeth. In most cases it's pretty minor assuming you are sure to properly clean the denture and the areas around the clasps. It is easy for excess plaque to build up around the clasp so it is important to take extra care brushing and flossing. All dentures will wear your teeth and jaw bone to some degree. The more teeth you have the less the effect will be. Other factors come into bone loss and tooth decay too such as diet, oral hygiene, and other health factors. No denture is as effective at chewing as natural teeth. Having the majority of your teeth is a really good sign though. The extra stability provided by the teeth will help give the denture more strength. It will still take some getting used to when chewing. There are some types of food that might be too tough for your partial molars (like steak or some hard crust bread) but you have enough other teeth that you can probably eat a relatively normal diet. You'll just have to get used to what foods require you to chew a little differently. The extra rigidity provided by a metal frame will be the best option for functionality (chewing). The draw back is that people might notice the metal frame and know you have a denture in. A flexible partial will look more natural in the mouth but will be less functional for chewing. An Acrylic partial is the most inexpensive option, but performs about the same as a flexible partial. Is it definitely a good option for today? Well, it's definitely better than not having any teeth. I'd say it's the best partial denture option for your case. There are fixed options, such as implants, that will give you tooth replacements like your real teeth. But those options are all a lot more costly than a denture.
