Everyone's fawning over mahomes but the broncos were literally one pass away from winning. Our team isn't as good as the manning years yet we can still put together a really good performance against a good chiefs team. The broncos have a good future.

The secondary is the worst it’s been in years. But mostly we needed to run the ball like 30 times and didn’t, only ran 22 and only 12 of those to Lindsay. Wtf?! Ok Freeman has a good game, oh only 8 carries. Hunt had 19 carries alone. Almost as many as our 3 backs combined. And why Booker even made the team I’ll never know. I would have cut that dude before last season.

Still no mention as to why we didn’t run the ball more considering our running backs were on fire last night and we had a 10 point lead... but what do I know? Keenum was okay and will probably remain as okay until he’s able to pass to the other receivers more. Sanders and Thomas are good but we have young guys who need to be involved more. I considered Denver to be the underdog going into this game because our defensive backs had played lousy until last night. They missed some big plays but so did the rest of the team. Otherwise they actually did fair. I called into work because I was depressed as fuck over this loss.

I’m a chiefs fan and I’m still not fully hyped about mahomes. I’ll hand it to the Broncos because they truly gave the chiefs a great test and I know we got away with the play clock call, which basically handed us the game. I grew up in Kansas City in a household that lived for the Chiefs during football season. And by default I grew to love the Chiefs as well. However, I also have favorite players and the first non Chief player I found and rooted for was the legend himself, John Elway. This created difficulties as Elway and the Broncos was only spoken of with rivalry hatred in my home and amongst my friends and had to watch them play in the secrecy of my bedroom with the volume off having to quickly turn the channel as if I was watching porn whenever someone got to close to my bedroom door. Luckily, when I was in the 8th grade back in 93, I met my friend Steve. I stayed the evening one Saturday night in December and the next day I was set to watch the Chiefs game with his family. That particular game was against the Broncos. As the game got underway, I quickly began to realise something was different, they weren't rooting for the Chiefs. Turns out Steve and his family moved to KC from Denver and as such were hardcore Broncos fans. I finally was able to watch Elway and my Broncos play without worry of scrutiny. I will always to this day remember that game. It was a real nail-biter, but in true Elway fashion, he led the Broncos to a 4th quarter come from behind victory 😀. Unfortunately, it meant my Chiefs lost, but I didn't care that Sunday because I had found my new home for Sunday football. Being both a Chiefs and Broncos fan isn't easy twice every year when they play each other. Always happy for the team that wins but depressed that the other team loses. However, this Monday Night Football game was the worst. I'm thrilled that Mahomes is turning out to be a great quarterback, but that last play for the Broncos was heartbreaking. That would've been amazing if that lateral would've connected. I think the Broncos should've outplayed the Chiefs Monday Night and could've won that game. I haven't been able to feel completely good for the Chiefs victory because of it.

I love how everybody says "they were one pass away from winning that game." Except you all fail to remember what happened on the play before the DT pass...an easy interception that was dropped by Kendall Fuller. He doesnt drop that ball and nobody is even talking about the pass to DT cuz the game would already be over

I never seen von work so hard to not get a sack. He did put pressure on mahomes though. I seen him gasping for air a few times. Definitely a smart move on kc part getting rid of Alex Smith. Patrick is a hell of a lot better than smith. Hopefully Elway takes notes and does the same with keenum.

In defense of Keenum: We knew since the beginning he wasn't Peyton Manning. He was an upgrade; a serviceable quarterback, not an elite one. And he may suck, I'm not saying he doesn't. Yesterday he overthrew a pass to DT that could have given us the win. But this is the thing: he did it on the last drive, during the last two minutes of the game, after losing a 10 point advantage. You can't ask a quarterback like Keenum to win the game on the last desperate drive, on every single god damn game. Actually, you can not even ask that to an elite quarterback and expect him to win all his games. You're asking the guy to complete all his passes and to be 100% perfect under pressure. If you expect to win every single game like that, let me tell you once and for all, it's not going to happen. And why did Keenum had to try to win the game on the last drive once again? Well... We entered the 4th quarter 13 - 23. We were ahead 10 points. Our defense had been doing great up to this quarter. But then, for some reason, Joseph and Co. decided to play soft defense. Mahomes saw his opportunity and move the ball to a few yards from the touchdown zone. He had to call a time out here and then he threw a short pass to Kelce and got the touchdown because our defense wasn't ready. Who gets caught with his pants down after a time out? You guessed it: Joseph's team. But hey, we were still ahead for 3 points. The clock was at 6:03. We were averaging 8.4 yards per run. What's the wise thing to do? Throw Lindsay and Freeman in the field, run the ball, take your time, maybe get a touchdown. But Joseph is everything but wise. So, what does he do? Shotgun, passes, three and out. Defense is back on the field. Now, this is the play that in my opinion lost the game. 2 and 30 on Kansas 31. A high school coach knows that you play zone coverage on that situation. But did Joseph and Co. get the memo? No, they went with man coverage and fucked it up. A few plays later, Kansas got the touchdown. And the rest is history. We tried to score a touchdown on a miracle drive and we failed miserable. Yes, Keenum should have connected with DT. Don't get me wrong, I'm not in love with the guy. I know he is not great. But why did he had to try to win the game with less than two minutes on the clock after he gave us a ten point advantage? Well, you'll have to ask Joseph. Keenum is what he is. He's serviceable, he is not awful. A good HC would have won the game with him... Sadly, Joseph is far tom being a good HC.

You missed that last play that 4th and 10 where the call on the field was a hook and lateral and sutland was latering it it yo Sanders when the k.c. corner made a great play on that at least 1st down mabye t.d. because there was no one in blocked by sanders.

Either Case's knee is still bothering him or he's under instructions to stay in the pocket more. Since game 2, when he ran the ball and also scored a TD, he hasn't been scrambling much. That is not Case. I watched him all last year here in Minnesota. He is a scrambler/bootleg type QB. That is how he was able to extend plays and avoid sacks last year. Let him do his thing. That is what Denver is paying him for .... turn him loose. Oh yeah .... and it is also how your QB's stay injury free, being able to avoid sacks!!
