Assault on national TV by Smith and he gets to sit through the whole show (rather than being escorted out immediately by Oscars) and even delivers a speech in self gratification!!!

Maybe they should have comforted Chris Rock, who acted more like a man than anyone in that room. Diplomatic, graceful, head held high and proud and one of the strongest displays of strength and patience on tv I've ever seen. Notice how Will walked up to him head down leaning in to hide his intentions. Chris never imagined he'd do something so childish and didn't brace for it because it was a sucker punch. Your family should be ashamed Will, you should be ashamed and your children should be embarrassed along with Jada. Its one thing defending a woman of class, another thing to destroy your career for a woman who laughed while you cried and embarrassed you globally with her infidelity. She turned you into a meme and now you destroyed your reputation and career for her. I will always say Jada is the real mastermind here. Go Chris.

I don't know what's worse, Will Smith assaulting Chris Rock on national television or that he was allowed to stay, collect his award and then give a speech acting like he was the victim.

He DID NOT take responsibility for his actions, he blamed “love” for his bad behavior. He cried like a baby as if he was the victim and never apologized to Chris publicly. Would have given him the benefit of doubt if he had apologized to Chris and admitted his actions were inexcusable. Instead he blamed and played victim.

Imagine how Chris Rock felt following the assault while all these people gave Will Smith a standing ovation as if nothing happened. Will smilling and dancing after hitting someone in the face. Disgusting.

I remember at school I was getting bullied by some dude who was one of the more popular kids. Anyway, he offered me to a fight one day and (surprising even myself) I beat his ass, literally the whole school consoled him and turned on me, even though they knew he was a bully…People will always follow and support the most popular person despite their actions… I on the other hand, was never bullied again

I am so sick of rich people! A poor man would be in jail. A rich man was comforted and received a standing ovation for emmasculating another man. A man that was bullied and abused as a child and has struggled to feel worthy. And then Will humiliated him before the world. My heart goes out to Chris. Totally unwarranted what Will did to Chris. GI Jane as a character was a strong courageous, moving woman’s empowerment film. I dont think Chris meant anything negative by it. Also Chris past history of domestic abuse thats pretty well known, what Will did was absolutely terrible.

Since when do you need to comfort a man that had the time to think about his actions after laughing at the joke that creating the outburst, then to cross the room and go on a stage on national television to assault a man on TV ??? What needed to be done , is to tell him that he needs some urgent help when not able to contain himself in front of the entire world to see.

Chris could’ve made this real bad for Will, all he had to do was collapse to the floor until assistance arrived, then acted disoriented and unable to continue. Just think about how different things would be for Will had he done this. But he’s all class and continued on

It's pretty sad to see most people acting and sounding judgmental as though they're so perfect. No one is perfect, and in this situation I strongly believe they both acted poorly. I wouldn't have slapped, and neither would I have make mockery of anyone, not to talk of making mockery of someone's love ones. Sometimes that hurts more than a slap. Someone can go into serious emotional trauma after being mocked publicly. Believe me, if you haven't been in that situation, then you would likely not understand. I condemn both actions. But like I said before, no one is perfect. They have to let go and consider the beautiful moments they both have shared in the past, and pave the way for reconciliation and peace. My advice is that they forgive, love, and move on even if they decide not to trust each other as before. It is true they've made some terrible mistakes, but that doesn't make us judges over them. God has the final say. We should preach peace, love and unity. Not hateful rhetoric that could lead both men astray into making wrong decisions as to the way forward. Thank you all.
