Everyone is too obsessed with Freddie to notice that there is a band as well. Don't get me wrong, Freddie is one of the best vocalists to ever have lived and I love him to pieces but come on... If people would just take one second to look up the names of the three other members they would be just as amazed.

Raine Hoffman you are so right there. Some reactors - actually a lot - are so obsessed with Freddie - Where do they think the amazing music and backing vocals are coming from ? An audio backing tape I guess. It really annoys the crap out of me. There are four amazingly talented and gifted musicians on that stage. I am a big Roger fan and could spend hours watching him drum. I love the RogerCam videos on RU-vid so much. To me hes so special cos he drums and sings - and sings so damn well.

I think this is my favorite performance of Somebody to Love. Freddy Mercury - He is regarded as one of the greatest singers in the history of popular music, and was known for his flamboyant stage persona and four-octave vocal range. He formed Queen in 1970 with guitarist Brian May and drummer Roger Taylor. Mercury wrote numerous hits for Queen. Mercury was voted best male singer of all time in a 2005 poll organised by Blender and MTV2. After first studying art at Isleworth Polytechnic in West London, Mercury went on to study graphic art and design at Ealing Art College, graduating with a diploma in 1969. Shortly before the release of Queen's self-titled first album, Mercury designed the band's logo, known as the "Queen crest". Although Mercury's speaking voice naturally fell in the baritone range, he delivered most songs in the tenor range. His known vocal range extended from bass low F to soprano high F. He could belt up to tenor high F. He is the greatest rock singer of all time, amazing pianist, songwriter, producer, and showman. Roger Taylor - studied to become a dentist, he became bored with dentistry. He changed to biology and obtained a BS at East London Polytechnic. He's an amazing drummer, singer, and songwriter. As a drummer, Taylor was recognized early in his career for his unique sound. He was voted by radio listeners as the eighth-greatest drummer in classic rock music history in a poll conducted by Planet Rock in 2005. Taylor sometimes played keyboards, guitars and bass on his own songs. Taylor is also well known for his falsetto vocal range. Brian May - is an English musician, singer, songwriter, astrophysicist and photographer. May was a co-founder of Queen with lead singer Freddie Mercury and drummer Roger Taylor, having previously performed with Taylor in the band Smile, which he had joined while he was at university. As a member of Queen, May became regarded as a virtuoso musician and he was identified with a distinctive sound created through his layered guitar work. In 2005, a Planet Rock poll saw May voted the seventh greatest guitarist of all time. May earned a PhD in astrophysics from Imperial College London in 2007, and was Chancellor of Liverpool John Moores University from 2008 to 2013. He was a "science team collaborator" with NASA's New Horizons Pluto mission. He is also a co-founder of the awareness campaign Asteroid Day. Asteroid 52665 Brianmay was named after him. May is also an animal rights activist, campaigning against the hunting of foxes and the culling of badgers in the UK. John Deacon - Deacon grew up in Oadby, Leicestershire, playing bass in a local band, The Opposition, before moving to study electronics at Chelsea College, London. He had been accepted to study at Chelsea College in London (now part of King's College London), where he obtained a First Class Honours degree in Electronics in 1971. He joined Queen in 1971 on the strength of his musical and electronic skills, particularly the home-made Deacy Amp which guitarist Brian May used to create guitar orchestras throughout Queen's career. He also helped the band with their financial management. As well as bass, Deacon played some guitar and keyboards on Queen's studio work. Following lead singer Freddie Mercury's death in 1991, and the following year's Tribute Concert, Deacon only performed a few times with the remaining members of Queen before retiring from the music industry in 1997. He has not performed on any of the other projects that the other two surviving members, Brian May and Roger Taylor, have put together, but he is still involved in the management of Queen's finances. Within five years of their formation in 1970 and the recruitment of bass player John Deacon completing the lineup, Queen had become one of the biggest rock bands in the world with the success of the album A Night at the Opera and its single "Bohemian Rhapsody". Queen is still touring with Adam Lambert. You can still see Brian May and Roger Taylor rock out. I actually have tickets to see them in July 2019. I hope I didn't overdo it with the information. It's just that every member of the band have such interesting stories. You should read up on their background or watch some Queen documentaries.

The drummer, Roger Taylor, was particularly famous for his insane falsetto. Queen's highest notes are all his. Some great Roger falsetto performances include Lap of the Gods (live at the Rainbow 74 is a good one), '39 (any version really), and you know those famous Galileo's and the "for MEEEEEEEEE" in Bohemian Rhapsody? That was him too. Plus his delightfully raspy voice at his normal range. Brian May (the guitarist) had an excellent voice too. John Deacon (the bassist) didn't like to sing but you can hear him occasionally, most notably in any live performance of Liar (which I thoroughly recommend as a song!). Okay, explaining done, I just got say, this reaction put a huge grin on my face and totally made my day. Your smile, your expression, was so pure and we got to sit here and watch you fall in love with Queen the way we all did once! I hope you do many more!

This is one of my favorite live songs by Queen!! Freddie is absolutely amazing. Every band member is a genius! Roger Taylor is an awesome drummer and it’s incredibly difficult to play The Drums like he does and saying his heart out!!!

Great reaction! If you want more Brian May’s awesome guitar skills. I’d recommend Olympics 2012 London. It was for the closing ceremony celebrating the UK’s contributions to music. They played “ We Will Rock You “. ( Brian still has his long curly hair. It’s just grey now.)

Loved your reaction, and you nailed it. Freddie owned the stage, as well as the audience. I was fortunate enough to see them in 1982. I was sitting in the 3rd row, right in front of Freddie's piano. That man owned the stage like no other I saw before or since. I was only 18 at the time, and to this day, it is still one of the best shows I've ever seen.

I'm so glad to see the acknowledgment of Rogers's (drummer) singing and playing. Usually, the reaction is a small one, and he deserves more! This is my fave performance of this song. Check out more Montreal 81 performances (they KILLED that show). Love this reaction so much.

I don't know if anyone has pointed this out to you yet, but Brian May built that guitar with this father in 1963, taking them two years to complete. Most of the parts on it are stuff he said he had lying around. The neck came from an old fireplace mantel. The top is the veneer of a mahogany table. The tremolo arm (or "whammy bar") takes the springs from a motorcycle valve springs and a knife's edge that was bent into a V shape. For a time Guild made a signature model.

I really enjoyed your reaction. That wonderful smile on your face and your enthusiasm said it all. Although I still was a child, I was lucky enough to experience Queen in their heyday. I can't tell you how much joy it gives me to see younger generations from all over the world experience this music. It binds us together, doesn't it? Over generations, over land and sea, music touches us all and for that brief moment when we're under its spell, we are all one human family.

Thank you for your reaction. For yourself (or for us :)), I recommend viewing the OFFICIAL VIDEO version of "Somebody To Love". It makes a nice comparison to this live version. Different enough to thoroughly enjoy the vocals, harmonizing & polish. And it made me appreciate this live version all the more, as Queen are amazing musicians. And Freddie, well, pure talent right there.

You should listen to Queen (Roger Taylor, the awesome drummer you admire) and Brian May with their current Queen and wonderful frontman, Adam Lambert, who has been with them since 2012. Roger and Brian thought they were through, but when they heard Adam, Brian says they knew they had found their Gift From God, and now they’ll usually say GFG and lots of people will know what that means. They also didn’t want a Freddie impersonator. The very best and first place I would tell anybody to start is Who Wants to live Forever? The Isle of Wight video. You should look for the version with the little Queen logo at the bottom right of the screen but it will probably be the one with the most views. Gorgeous song. And regularly, Roger and Adam do an Under Pressure duet. There are some really good 2018 versions. Queen + Adam Lambert will be touring this country this summer. Many of us might have been too young to see Freddie but here is a great chance to see a show not to be missed, especially before Brian and Roger get too old to tour anymore. Thank you for what you do.

Thanks Deon. As I said my wife and I were at this concert. We are a bi racial couple and she was ( and is tiny). I actually put her on my shoulders for the entire concert. Now I might add that I have been a drummer since the age of 8. If you check out the drum solo during the song TNUC the drummer ( Don Brewer) did something very unusual. If you watch the video you will see what he did. It has something to do with his head. Anyway check it out. I would definitely check out the song Heartbreaker. Thanks again my friend. Oh and by the way she still is the most beautiful black woman I have ever seen. I'm been blessed for 47 years.
