I tried telling that to everyone but numbers mean everything these days and thats the sad reality.. if lil boat flops then alot of people wont listen to the song and many wont consider him a good artist.. but if music reaches 30 million views or more than people will respect him as an artist and thats the way people think and the masses decide whats wrong or right so you really cant argue with the popular vote
I genuinely would not be mad if this is the start of a new sound for yachty. to confine yourself to one genre is oddly common within the hip hop community so this is refreshing to see someone go outside their comfort zone. lil boat cool as hell fr, if he chose to never rap again we would all still wanna know what he working on.
As a 55-year-old funky rock drummer who grew up on Black Sabbath and P-Funk, I went WILD when my son turned me on to Let's Start Here. Really cool to see a young guy showing influences like Pink Floyd and Funkadelic. And all interspersed with interesting thoughts and concepts. This guy's a genius. I'm beyond impressed.
This video is a work of art, I've clocked several legitimate aspects of high art concepts like surrealism in the videography/writing of this, and Boat's acting plays into it all so well, it's like he was born to be an actor as well as an artist...I'm proud of boat, this is genius
Calling it now, this will be his biggest album to date. I just listened to the album and it’s actually incredible. The vibes, the uniqueness and the alternative sound is what’s hot right now. First song is my favourite 👌🏼
The setting of the intro scene is masterfully delivered to cause anxiety. The small and narrow corridor are like holding your breath, and then the entrance into what seems to be a wide and open, illuminated space is the release of accumulated tension. It’s almost like being able to take a breath of fresh air.
This video just perfectly compliments that yatchy has alot of potential artistry, no doubt this is just a start of the lil boat floating, also love the surrealist and eccentric direction in here too holy shit he is doing his thing now we need more man
this album is like a psychedelic experience if u watch closely at 0:10 Department of Mental Tranquility is an acronym for DMT. i loved this album it‘s a masterpiece crazy to see yachty finding himself and experimenting with this sound. 10/10 for sure

Never noticed, but he actually has quite a buttery voice. I may actually check out this album. I like when artists explore other avenues and don't just remain stagnant. Hopefully it really does tie into psychology and mental health.
