Depraved Fans Show the Ugly Side of Sports 

Stupid fans know who they are. In so far as Jerry was concerned he lets his petty nature ruin the greatest modern dynasty of all time. The fans didn't need MJ's endorsement to dislike Jerry. He earned it. Booing his wife is totally ignorant & classless.

Some fans love of a team can go too far, just because her husband wasn't a good person to work for, doesn't mean you take your aggression out on his widow, who probably had little to nothing to do with the actual Team.

Being in a stadium is like being on social media. You can be heard while being anonymous and classless.

I’m a Bulls fan, and as much as I don’t like Jerry Krause for dismantling the team, what my fellow Bulls fans did was classless. I hope my fellow Cowboys fans don’t give Jerry Jones and his family the Jerry Krause treatment after he passes.

If the Chicago front office knew like WE knew…they wouldn’t have brought her out there for it. They did it to themselves and her. On a side note, I WISH I was rich and people booing because my old flame made a bad trade in basketball could make me breakdown and cry. There are kids starving and being bombed. Women being raped. Krause really sucked. Nobody liked him. The really insensitive thing to do was to bring her there to begin with. Everyone knew how unlikeable he was. How did they not?

That family isn't responsible for something he said. They lost a member of their family and they should be respected. Booing is just gross and it shows how people in this country have completely lost empathy and compassion for human beings. It's selfish, it's shallow and it's disgusting.

You win on the court. Not an office. Organizational competence is clearly a plus. Can’t ignore the fact the team has had no success since he made those moves. Just so happens of course but still.

For me, the dark side of sports shows up on Monday morning when I have to call social services for the umpteenth time because some drunk idiot got mad that the team he bet on didn't make the spread and takes it out on his kid. Embracing sports gambling is to embrace disease, encourage abuse and destroy lives. The people behind sports gambling like Draftkings are making money on the suffering of others. Their disclaimers and warning do not change the fact that they are preying on people who cannot help themselves. It's like opening a bar next door to a family of alcoholics. You know what you're doing and it's sick.

Say what you want about how things ended with the dynasty Bulls, but anyone that is booing Krause is ignoring the fact that he built the dynasty teams. Krause traded for Cartwright and Pippen. Krause drafted Grant and BJ. That helps us win the first 3 titles. Krause brings in Kukoc long before his Euro style became popular in the NBA. Krause brings in Harper and Rodman and a boatload of solid role players that get us the 2nd 3-peat. Krause may have helped break them up, but that doesn't take away from what he contributed to 6 titles. He definitely deserves a place in the Ring of Honor and his legacy deserves better than boos. Hate him for breaking up the team, but don't take away what he actually contributed.

As a lifelong Bulls fan, I am both disappointed at the actions of the fans that night and I am embarrassed. Those detractors have no class, no decency. Was Jerry Krause a perfect guy? No. But FFS, no reason to boo the man’s widow.

This guy isn't in a unique position. He does have any more information than the rest of us. Living in Illinois doesn't give him the inside scoop. Jordan took exception to Krause trying to minimize the players and put undue emphasis on the organization when it came to winning championships. Jordan was right and Krause was a egomaniac who wanted more importance than what was due to him. Also, Jordan didn’t lie. When he said he wouldn't play for another coach other than Phil, he was more than likely talking about in Chicago. This guy talking is so off on his assessment and irritating at times.

People need to show class. This was horrible.

You have to think about like this, what general manager in what sport gets recognized when an organization wins a championship? None, whoever would have represented for him would have received a negative response. His kids, his parents, whomever.

Krause broke up a dynasty too early and forced MJ to retire with plenty left in the tank. Bulls front office set Thelma up for failure, Krause deserves recognition for building the Bulls and the disdain for breaking it up prematurely.

At least you people in Chicago still have an NBA team. Soon, Oakland will not have an MLB team. How would you like John Fisher to sell the A's before they leave for Vegas and use the proceeds to buy the Cubs or White Sox? Most baseball fans in Vegas want a "new" team to start from scratch. Much like the city's Golden Knights, who made it to the Stanley Cup Finals in their very first season. The "change of scenery" won't make much difference for the A's. They'll stink for a long time to come.

Rick, I really appreciate you posting this. I grew up in the Chicago burbs and started watching the Bulls in 1984 at the age of 7. Even if Krause had an ego complex back in the day, he doesn’t deserve that treatment, and I felt so bad for his wife. I’m not going to regurgitate all the reasons you brought up in your video, but everything you said about his contributions to that dynasty is spot on. While I loved the Last Dance, have rewatched it so many times, it could have gone a lot further to highlight things Krause did, AND, even Pippen. He had a big part of a episode III, but they could have pointed his numbers in game 3 of the 93 ECF, and they also have could have highlighted Scottie and the 2nd team for starting that epic comeback against the blazers in game 6 of 92 finals.

I can go back to coach Phil Jackson with the Albany Patroons vs coach Dave Cowens of the Bay State Bombediers CBA league...Albany had Brooke Steppe , a great player and crazy as a loon...a one man show of legendary proportion...all I can say is THANKS GUYS..I had a BLAST !!

Jordan poisoned the Bulls fan base. As a young adult when he wouldn't stop crying and acting like a selfish child over who was more important, Bulls fans had to choose, one player or the cities team. This attitude still runs through the city and so much Jordan propaganda makes it worse everyday.

I 💛 Jordan growing up, & still try to be "like Mike" on the court. -Michael could have handled Jerry better ear!y on, but was also very young. Jordan resented that he was benched so much while his ankle -foot healed up, but Jerry was being smart & cautious.. even possibly saving MJ's career. Jerry Found Phil Jackson who no one recognizes ,that went on to be the legendary coach that he was for the bulls. Jerry may have been an unlikable little troll but deserves credit. If it wasn't for MJ being so petty ,mean & bitter about it all & turning everything into a grudge match..then who knows how it could have turned out differently.

This was a shame. Its ok to not agree with Krause - i didn't agree with quite a bit but he did helpnthem to the only six titles they ever won. Honestly imo some of the vitriol is misplaced. RIP to him. I say it was misplaced because unless you were there, you might not get the role of the other Jerry - Reinsdorf. He said, back in the late 90s, "I REALLY want to win one without Michael." Not a huge thing but he said that while he had Jordan and while they were winning. The egos on Reinsdorf and Krause were unreal but Reinsdorf hid behind the GM a bit, a gambit that wouldn't work much later on.

When it comes down to this, we need to respect the dead. We as sports fans should have a life. I've been extremely disappointed when it comes to sports but it's just a sport.
