Exploring inside the derelict and abandoned prison governors house Holly Grange on the Isle of Wight

Holly Grange is a large residential property located opposite HMP Camp Hill, it has been empty for 30+ years and its last use as a training center for staff at the prison, prior to this it was the Governor's house for the prison site.
The site has been left to decay significantly over the years with most of the upper floor collapsing, which is a real shame as I remember spending much of my youth exploring it (and getting caught by the prison guards!)
Filmed with Sony A7Sii, edited and graded in Adobe Premiere Pro 2017.

Very Sad I used to live there (my dad was the last but one governor to do so) 1975-1977 at 43 seconds in you can see my bedroom (it was the one with the balcony). it used to be a beautiful house till someone left it vacant over winter and the pipes froze and it was flooded and then it was abandoned.

Guy Attrill. Bit of a long shot but do you happen to recognise the last name bartlett or pocock. Me and my father are doing ancestry and have travelled over to isle of wight to find out more about this side of the family we didn't know. I believe they lived in Ryde and st helens mainly :)

Another beautiful piece of work! Excellently chosen music enhances the visuals of a wonderfully grim and atmospheric ruin. I love the toilets hanging from 'skyhooks' around the two minute mark. Excellent stuff!

I went here a few hours ago and god it’s changed, I found a late 19s- to early 20s Tv, a perfect Toilet with a lamp on it

I played there as a child with the son of the Governor (1947)! How sad to see it in this state of decay! The IOW seems to have become 'Moldova'! (Or Detroit)!

Built in 1926 according to recent County Press. Another house to the east of this one is also now derelict.

Out of curiosity, there is a large amount of fire damage in the property mainly on the kitchen side. Was it abandoned and then set on fire or abandoned due to a fire.

Well. I don't remember this place but the speed I moved at I ain't surprised.brilliant seeing the gym. Fucking trained for war every day..... I guess you'd know of the whereabouts of some screws and inmates I'd happily talk with... That farm was good but I never got to it but got lots because of it......fantastic. I think the farm was d catted .never got to d stuck between. AnB. Haha camphill in 94 was a c cat but really a b tbf

How do you mot get caught, is it easily accessible?

It takes lots of practice to not get caught 😅 although security is pretty lax at this site you can wander straight in usually

Thank you for taking time to make these videos aesthetically appealing with lighting, composition, movement, and different camera angles. Most abandoned vids are of the “look at me!” variety. These are well-crafted art.
