To improve the amps, simply build the volts with your earth battery. Then hook your earth battery to another battery or a solar panel wired in parallel. Wiring in series adds volts, like your earth battery and wiring in parallel adds amperage or current. The secret to making earth batteries useful will be mixing them with excellent sources for amps. A small modern battery has massive amps compared to your earth battery. So build all the cheap volts in earth batteries and use a small battery to add amps into your circuit.

Take copper and aluminium foil. Wrap the copper foil around some base (either wooden or plastic or ceramic cylinder or anything non conductive). Take a wire as an output and make sure it has good connection to the foil. then wrap a little tissue. Then wrap aluminium foil around the tissue, put a wire to the aluminium foil and make sure it has good connection. Then repeat the process several times until the battery becomes thick to the point it can still be placed to the bottom of the ice box and fully covered by salt and vinegar solution.

The best way to use a battery like that is to step it down to 6 volts (I do not mean to make it a 6 volt battery, but keep it a 12 volt battery and step it down), then use it to light a 5 volt LED light. That 12 volt battery will last a lot longer and the LED will be brighter than normal. I can run a 6 volt DC alarm clock off my 12 volt DC 8kw battery bank, but I step it down to 5 volts for my DC alarm clock. The clock still runs, keeps time, sounds the alarms properly, but the LED numbers on the front are dimmer than if I power it with 6 volts. So anyways, after four days, my battery bank still does not even know the clock is attached to it. The Volts do not get any lower in the test I did. Even after a week, it only dropped .01 volts. Good to see the video. Nice job. Science is Knowledge

I am going to try something like this with my hydroponics system. I suspect the inflow of water every hour will replenish the system for lighting the LED lights. Would be interesting if I could boost the plant growth and produce output by powering plant light spectrum LED lights off the very containers I grow the hydroponics in. Even something as little as a 5% to 10% increase for free, would be an awesome discovery. I also suspect the leaves may have a mini solar panel effect as the roots may put out electrons from the protons hitting the leaves during the day. Free LED lighting at night could be an interesting experiment.

I remember an episode of Gilligan's Island where the professor recharged batteries for the radio using salt water and coconuts...lol He could have just hooked up the galvanic cell directly to the radio instead of recharging the batteries 😄

The low amperage doesn't let you power the fan directly, but how about leaving your dirt battery connected to a super capacitor for several hours, and then power the fan with the supercapacitor?
@GBear
@GBear Год назад

@@GBear I saw on a different channel about setting up several of these trays in series and /or parallel for increasing voltage or increasing amperage. I don't know: 1. IF a bigger cell volume by several plastic cups will improve voltage or amperage, 2. And /or so called storage of cranking amps 3. Or several probes or nail and wire (2-or more) per each connection, Will help improve things.
@GBear
@GBear 6 месяцев назад
Welcome aboard! Yes, just like any battery, or cell of a battery, connecting them in parallel will keep the volts the same, but will add up the amps per cell. Also, connecting any battery or cell in series would add up the voltages, but the amps would remain the same. So it is possible to make multiple batteries of this type and increase either volts or amps for specific needs. Note that the watts would remain the same no matter in series or parallel.

Acidic Acid ( Vinegar ) is reacting with the Alkaline in the soil. Your Bubbles. Enlarge your plate size and use a Alkaline Electrolyte oh say Lye. Most oven cleaners contain Caustic Soda or Lye. See what happens.

Yes, and so would swimming pool acid. But the point of the experiment was to create electricity in a remote environment.
@DonaldMcKenzie-nn4pw
@DonaldMcKenzie-nn4pw 2 месяца назад
Increasing the amperage for earth batteries is quite simple. A law of physics states that wiring in parallel will add the amps of two power sources. We simply wire a solar panel to the earth battery. We build the earth battery to the desired voltage in series. Earth batteries are the cheapest voltage around. Then wire a solar panel to the EB in parallel. Boom best of both worlds. Real power.
@GBear

Good, in theory. Except, an earth battery isn't an efficient storage device.

how many amps? how do you know that you're not going to die or get shocked ?
@GBear
@GBear 6 лет назад
The amps are very low in this type of battery. The voltage is D.C. or Direct Current, not A.C. , so much like your car battery, you can touch both terminals at the same time without getting shocked. (As long as you aren't barefoot and standing in a bucket of water, LOL) For all electrical, using test equipment tells whether the power is safe or not.
@axnbjsbdudbydvydubu9355
@axnbjsbdudbydvydubu9355 6 лет назад
yes but before using a test equipment you are touching it with your bare fingers ... this is a test of course but if a man wants to build a decent battery let's say with deep volume than an ice tray .. what are the measurments to be considered for a home made productive battery including safety measurements. there are not enough detailed videos on youtube for building such battery .. most are science school projects or proof of concept or for collecting " like, share and subscribe " . no offense
@GBear
@GBear 6 лет назад
I see your point. Most low voltage DC batteries are safe to touch without getting shocked. In my off grid battery bank I have 18 each, 6V, 232ah golf cart batteries, connected in series-parallel to create one giant 12V bank at 1988ah, and it is safe to touch the connections. On the other hand, I have a 300w wind turbine that is 3phase AC that I would definitely wear leather gloves when handling the connections. Note that if you are looking for instructions to build a high powered battery, you will probably not find any because those would be proprietary and the info protected, even IF they exist. Earth batteries and such aren't going to power your home, etc. These experiments are to show technique, and at best could charge a cell phone in an emergency, or light an LED bulb. But, the search and research goes on! I will be doing more with techniques like nickel iron batteries, so stay tuned.

@GBear
@GBear 2 года назад
Wow, that was a long time ago! So, the dirt is just scooped from the ground as is, no sifting or funneling. The simplest electrolyte is used, just plain water. The output of each cube can be determined by dividing the total output by 12 cubes. This is by no means a claim to a new battery, but instead, just an experiment to show that electricity wasn't invented, it was discovered. Electricity exists naturally all around us. Take your voltmeter outside to your yard, bring a few galvanized or steel nails, and a few copper nails or stiff pieces of copper wire. Start by sticking one of each into the ground, a couple inches apart, then take a reading with the voltmeter. Now add some moisture in between the 2 and read it again. You can also pound one copper and one galvanized nail into a tree, a couple inches apart, and check with the meter. There will be voltage! (Be sure to remove the copper nail from the tree when done. Copper will kill a tree) You can also fill a tin can with dirt, moisten it with different liquids, place a bare copper wire into the center about half way down, now test with the meter. The can will be the negative, the copper wire will be the positive. Have fun trying different things.
