Everyone is so quick to call her a cheater and say how horrible it was but desperate housewives includes very realistic moments that happen in everyday life. She had her hands full and she was over whelmed and that was her escape from everything. I love Felicity’s line where she says “I hav nothing to offer” ..I can see where she’s coming from & she knows that vs ppl that don’t. It can happen where ur in a relationship and married and love them very much but at a weak point u can become very vulnerable. Like she said she may of been close to crossing the line but she never did. I don’t think it’s her fault. She’s only human and they want the viewers to see that and send a msg to them. After all guys can be friends w girls and he was helping her out and she enjoyed their conversations ...a Far as my concern right or wrong , it can happen. This segment was one of ..if not my fav segment..next to to the altercations between gaby & that vindictive nun ..& gaby snd her maid which Carlos had an affair w/ as she was carrying their child. Gaby was so real and I despise Carlos so much for that.
Oh excuses excuses excuses. U're the kind of person who'd cheat on real life and rationalize that it was your husband's negligence and tough marriage life that made you do it.
And not to mention she always doubts Tom about cheating and gets uncomfortable when others flirt with Tom, u know what she would do if the tables were tuned
She never intended to cross the line. People who don't understand that you can flirt with and like someone even if you're married need a reality check.
What did she expect was gonna happen? Tall attractive young man she was pretty much drooling over every night...then spending long nights alone together with Tom out of commission...something was bound to happen.
@@American-Zero Exactly, and later on in this episode Lynette had the nerve to say this to Tom…”The idiot admitted he had feelings for me and he never would have done that, if you hadn’t confronted him” How naïve of her to think Rick never would have admitted he had feelings for her if he wasn’t pushed into it. Also, if Tom was doing the same thing with another woman as she was doing with Rick she would have exploded. But yet she got mad at Tom for stepping in?!
@@enjoyitbro IKR?! If this was Tom with some other woman doing the same thing she did with Rick, she'd cut his balls off. I think Lynette was more mad at herself for falling for this guy, hoping it was just some one sided schoolgirl crush and that he didn't feel the same...and just because he did, she throws a tantrum like a child and fires him. She can't have her cake and eat it too...in my opinion Lynette was in the wrong here. She's married with a husband and five kids and she let herself get smitten with some pretty boy, knowing she has a husband sitting at home unable to do anything.
@@enjoyitbro It was completely selfish of her and something I think she knows but never said explicitly. Like she said, she did everything but actually cheat on Tom but she didn't see anything wrong with it if Rick didnt ask for more. One of Lynette's worst moments, although she was kind of weakened emotionally by the strain opening the restaurant with Tom, put on their marriage. This was one of the most nuanced plot points in the show imo
The way Lynette avoids AND puts the accountability on Rick is selfish. She 100% cheated emotionally AND physically with the cuddle, regardless of the context(armed robbery at the restaurant). And her saying you aren’t supposed to say that means she enjoyed the thrill, secrecy & taboo of the affair. She’s guilty. And she did it to her sick husband. As she is a woman, she’ll also blame the stressful kids & boring/unexciting husband as an excuse as to why she did what she did AND feel what she feels. I’m glad Tom slept with Renee back in college because it hurts Lynette more than her affair hurt Tom because Renee is her best friend. Take that, Lynette!
Cheated emotionally, yes. Physically, no. They were in a freezer overnight, did u want them to literally freeze to death? And how can u say “take that lynette” if tom cheated on her emotionally and physically with her best friend first. And lied about it their entire marriage lol It should be “take that Tom!” And he’s lucky she never actually physically cheated like he did. If anything, she had every excuse to cheat on him, and still didn’t.
@@jeunesseeternelle9803 Lynette always tried to save her family structure, despite everything. Though Tom had some qualities, however, he was a very whiny man. And she did stay with him for his family. But she was not satisfied back then . Did you even watch the serie?
