This little nonexistent moment was probably one of her best moments, really talks about her character, how it hurt her as a mother to see his kid struggle but she fought the pain for a greater cause than just make things easier on him. Great mother moment.
This...this is why Desperate Housewives would remain one of the best TV shows of all time. Hands down, one of the most touching scenes out of all the seasons.
I always thought Lynette was harsh in this scene when I was a teen but now as an adult and someone who worked with kids I totally understand why she didn't make him a sandwhich and seemed harsh that look and feeling of pride at seeing a him do it himself was priceless. Although I'm not a parent I can't explain how special a feeling it is when you see a child you have cared for accomplish a milestone all by themselves whether they have disabilities or a medical condition that hinders their development. Its amazing to see them learn and do it.
everyone is talking about felicity's skills - of course she's a wondefull actress, i totally agree with you guys, but patrick did his role really good to :)
this scene and scene when Bree had call from hospital that Rex passed away and she starts to polish the cutlery and finally she bursted up her emotion are most powerful scenes ever
I lost it. I wasn’t expecting that. The polishing part, yes, because that’s so Bree. But when she breaks down, 😭 whew, can’t watch that with anyone around. “It’s not real” “They’re just acting” But damn, she played that part very well.
This scene made me cry because I have a disabled child and I do everything for her. I saw how hard it was for her to let him make that sandwich for himself and I got emotional because I really need to allow my daughter to be more independent but it is so hard.
Omg I remember this. Still remember how it hurt seeing her pain while he was grunting and struggling to make it himself. Wow. She was always my favourite.
This made me cry becasue my mom talked exactly like this when I was his age and I have a disability. She said to me you are not leaving this home untill you learn to make your own food becasue I belive that you can do it! And guess what I did!
Wow what an amazing scene, no background music, no changing camera angles to over dramatize it,,and the acting they were both amazing,, it felt so real so truthful,,she seemed in pain having to watch him struggle and he hated how much it took,,,every time I watch my eyes just get tears
OMG this scene always gets me and the kid was not even born. We didn't even saw him having this life. Sometimes tv shows kill off characters you in every episode but it's like...meh....this character stole the show without even being in it. Also, why was the speech cut off? it was important
This scene gets me every time I watch it. I have been a high functioning quadriplegic since I was 6 years old. My mother made me make my own sandwiches and do everything I could do for myself. She is half the reason I am able to live happily in my own home with an aide only 3-4 hours a day (getting in bed and out of bed as well as showers etc)
This clip makes me to want a Felicity Huffman own series so bad. The handicapped child would've been an awesome arc and a great opportunity to watch Felicity's full potencial
I did like how it starts off painful yet shows that this what if kid doing something for himself and having pride in it, especially with lynette. Sadly, it was a heart breaking what if
Best scene in the series. This actress perfectly captured how a parent has to make their handicapped child understand that their parents won’t be around forever to help their handicapped child with everything and to fight being handicapped and not let it hold you back from goals and success in life. This scene made me cry.
Wow powerful scene!! This literally moved me to tears. It’s really sad this baby died and this scene was only a dream. I really wish this weren’t part of the storyline. Lynette is a really good mom and this boy would’ve been a great kid.
this scene was incredible and one of the best of the entire series....Felicity is heartbreaking in her strength in this episode and throughout all of season 6
I just saw this episode for the first time and was bawling...during lunch break at work! I'm blown away how the cast pulled this genius what if portrayal. I can verify that it is on par with what's really happening in our world today because I'm profoundly deaf and my parents are incredible parents who stuck around to see my success through, hence my bawling at work. Outstanding job!
I can't not love Felicity. She is stellar. It saddens me how the world has turned against her. Given my love for her, I am biased and I can only forgive her for her recent transgressions. She is human and I have to forgive her. My heart breaks for the turn of events. She's brilliant.
I cried a lot in this bcs I have such a great relationship with my mother and she constantly do this to me as a schild and I despised her for it, but as I grew up I learned that she does things in a hindsight.
My friend has a son who went to live 200 miles further out for a new important job involving lots of transport and visiting institutions, schools. To build a new home and to get wed. He was in a wheelchair. He was born with a handicap, but would only be helped by siblings for the minimal. His parents would wait for him to get ready by himself. They always planned things carefully, timescheduled generously and had a life full of kids, volunteerwork, own firm and church. The son thrived as autonomously as possible through life with a lot of friends, family and work.
Happy birthday lynette for your 60 years and bring to an infinity to happiness and serenity from italian boy live in rome and I m fan of desperate housewives
One of the greatest DH scenes EVER.. She is great, ABSOLUTELY GREAT... also in thefollowing episode when she is havin a fight with Tom (as usual) and she sais: 'we lost I kid and we'll spend our life lookin at one asking ourselves why they're not two, HOW CAN SAYING THIS OUT LOUD BE HELPFUL!!' She is brilliant. and in the latest episode when she talks to Parker and says she understands him hating her... wow.. I love this actress she really knows what she is doin'...
Hey could you possibly upload the full Lynette sequence? From when she is doing the muscle stretches to Patrick as a child, to when Tom tells her he lost the baby? It's so i can send the link to my drama teacher to watch x
definetely one of the best! Any chance you could upload the whole of Lynette's "If..." sequence, like when Patrick is a baby and she's doing the exerices until the part when she tells Gabie that he would've been "amazing."
I’m glad Patrick wasn’t born. He would’ve been just another wasted character who exists solely to make Lynette look like a struggling mom and nothing else, just like Parker and Penny.
Question, she was not blacklisted because of that college incident was she? I hope another movie comes out with her in it, she is such an amazing actress
