illumination purposely make their films lower budget compared to the competition, Pixar and Dreamworks put insane amount of money to their animated movies. Its pretty smart strategy for them because they always guarantee to make a profit with their movies. I think the Mario movie is illumination’s most expensive movie ever made, over a budget of 100 million dollars. You can immediately tell the difference compared to the other movies.

Originally the first _Despicable Me_ and their earlier films were mostly within the $69-72 million dollar range and then starting with _Despicable Me 2, Secret Life of Pets_ and _Sing_ their budgets eventually grew and now have them at $75-85 million dollar budgets with _The Super Mario Bros. Movie, Rise of Gru_ and _Despicable Me 4_ being within the $100 million budget range and like I mentioned, most of the later _Despicable Me_ and Minions films following the first movie also had their film budgets increased which result in the later movies movement and frame rate to be more fluid like the current CG Theatrical Animated films compared to the first film which had a $69 million dollar budget and had a direct-to-video or CG TV series quality. Plus I notice that the characters hair and skin in the second film onwards have more details and textures.

@@user-sq5eg8vz6j Finally most of the Disney and Pixar animated films tend to have their CG movies budgets being much higher than Illumination and the DreamWorks animation films with most of the current Disney Animated films since _Wreck-It Ralph_ having their budgets within the $150-$175 million range (except Raya which had $100 million, Encanto at $100-$150 million, _Strange World_ at $175-$180 million and _Wish_ at $175-$200 million) while Pixar since _Wall•E_ now have their current movies within the $175-200 million dollar budget range.

I think a lot of people probably watched some of these movies as kids or when it came out, but don't remember anything. So it's the first time again basically. But I believe he really didn't watch this one tho
