Just seeing that tracking at the end confirms it was nothing like it was in destiny 1, I'll forever remember a ton of truth rockets literally curving round trees to chase people in interceptors on the huge maps in D1.

Feels weird when you watched Datto record this on his stream TRUTH be told.

You can buy all of the map fragments from petra in the dreaming city, just to inform you

Quest is currently bugged, you can go to petra and buy the map fragments themselves immediately after you do the ascendant challenge

Hello everyone, Truth is, the game was rigged from the start

Letting everyone know, theres 2 major bugs in this quest line that will help the grind go wayyy faster. After finishing the ascendant challenge then u gotta find the map fragments, u can talk to Petra again and she will have all 4 fragments in her inventory as abandoned quests, just grab them from her. Then you would want to finish all map fragments objectives and leave the 3 nightfalls for last. Reason is that, upon completing a nightfall, for some reason a duplicate map fragment quest will drop. For me it gave me the nessus ascendant to kill enemies with rocket launchers. I had already turned in my initial one of this. So all we did was finish up the 2nd (duplicate) map fragment n turned it in n off we went for the warden of nothing strike to get our Truth exotic. We didnt even finished the nightfalls map fragment. Lol if u read this, spread the word n u are most welcomed ;)

Feb 2020 update: this quest is way easier now. 1) do petras ascendant challenge then 2) get the quest steps from Petra and avoid all of the tedious stuff 3) possibly get lucky... I did the RL kills while ascendant, then claimed that step. I did another step, then I did an OG nightfall with the challenge card set to -100, I farmed the RL kills and ended the NF bc I was solo. I tried doing an ordeal NF to see if that would count. it doesnt...I somehow got lucky and the step for 100 RL kills while ascendant respawnwed in my inventory. Did it again. It counted. Then killed a bunch of hive on TS. Went to do the strike and joined right at end...didnt collect anything (but maybe my teammates did, IDK...) popped a tincture at the end and I was done and done...

I'd like to thank my parents for helping get through law school. my brother for being the emotional support that I needed during tough times. and last but definitely not least, datto. you were the catalyst for it all, brother.

When I did this part of the truth exotic quest on August 22, 2020, the map fragment for the bay of drowned wishes lost sector was moved to inside the cave, on ascendant platforms above the big rock right before the end chest.

I did a run of the menagerie but I did not get the scrap of paper.

Around 6:00 he goes to the next room but then shows a clip of him collecting a thing in that room. Great job

Like he said, make sure to initiate the strike using the map on Tangled Shore. If you use the Nightfall playlist, sometimes the platforms bug and don´t activate. Plus, in the Nightfall you will only have like 20 seconds after killing the boss to jump and open the chest.

**sees truths homing rockets** I’ll just use sins of the past. It doesn’t have tracking, but hit it within 20 feet of someone and you’ll usually get the kill.

cheese is still active as of july 3rd. Petra selling map fragments for free, and if you complete the map fragments, you can find them in the wild and complete the same one again and thus skip the nightfall one. hardest part is probably finding a match making warden strike that isn't half finished when you load into it.

For future references. That corsair down step was changed to "do three patrols with corsairs". So just do three patrols that a corsair gives you. Remember, there are patrols that Shuro chi gives you. Avoid those.

I would be really intersted to see u do a video on how to get back into to destiny 2 and what u need to do to get back into the swing of things i think alot of people might be coming back to game after the recent trailer i know i want to but i have been really out of the loop.

Just wanted to add that it seems the map fragment that was in the lost sector seems to change, I just got mine at the Chamber of Starlight.

Think they may have recently changed a part of this, the corsair down part is now just do 3 patrols instead.

Currently (2nd may 2020) you can get all the map fragments from petra and the corsair bit is just do 3 patrols on the dreaming city

Technically for the first fragment I got the map piece from the chest outside of Blind Well, so I think it's just loot any ascendant chest in the Dreaming City.

For anyone who doesn't want to do night falls or whatever, you can get the maps from Petra, then go and find the maps, and the chest will give you a duplicate map, and you can complete both of the maps, and both will count for the quest so you should have an extra map or two by the time your done

You can glitch the map fragment collection part by just grabbing 1 and then you can buy the rest from Petra

Just gonna wait for Datto's tutorial because I've already pledged loyalty to his exotic guides

Just found out that the chest in the dreaming city moves with each curse week. It's strongest curse right now, and I found the chest next to huginn instead of the bay of drowned wishes.

This quest was so buggy. My friend skipped the chest part and the 2 nightfall’s. I was not pleased to see him beat me to acquiring the gun after I had wasted 2 hours trying to get it legit.

The tracking doesn't seem that far off from a regular rocket with tracking 🤔

quick question (that i probably will figure out before getting a response, so the whole point of taking time to write out this question is essentially irrelevant, but i m bore and have plenty of time on my hands so I figure “what the hell I’m just gonna go for it!” Also I liked the fact that although this is a complete waste of my time, it could also be an even bigger waste of someone else’s time... and that gave me a surge of pride and accomplishment that I haven’t felt in quite some time!! Mostly because i’m a sick, deranged individual that doesn’t really have a lot going on, except for this questline... which at this point any of the exotic quest lines that pop up for me are very exciting, up until the point where you have to have a fire team to either complete a quest/mission like “zero hour,” or the rendezvous mission that i get completely lost in and know that even if i could find the boss I wouldn’t be able to beat it and the tanks in time as a solo player... Despite being light level 950.. MAX! or even worse is something like the rat king quest, or whatever it is called! Because you can’t even attempt that one solo, I don’t think? Destiny 2 is the first and only game I have played/play on PC (steam) do all of my friends play on Xbox or PS4, so I can’t even attempt the nightfall, shattered throne, pit of heresy or any of the raids! And the RAIDS ARE THE BEST PART OF DESTINY!!! I beat every Destiny 1 raid, except WOTM because I played on PS3 and that expansion didn’t come out for last gen consoles. So if anyone wants a new friend and to play any/all of the raids, nightfall, pit of heresy, shattered throne.. please let me know, i play on steam, my destiny name is peteolsen9 and i am a competent player, light level 950, and most importantly will listen and take advice from others who have played the raids! so it’s not really a carry, just more of an explanation! so now finally back to my quick question.. ha) can the map pieces be picked up in any order? “oh they can?!” ok thanks youtube!

I don't know if anyone else discovered this but you can do the same map fragment after completing one of them and it will count towards fragment completion and yes I grabbed all map fragments from Petra , i had another fragment drop after doing the inverted spire on a nightfall strike .

Disliked because it doesn't mention that the boss has to be the OGRE boss. If you complete the managerie with any other random boss, it won't drop.

If anyone is having trouble getting the handicapped nightfalls to work, you have to do the regular nightfalls, not the ordeal version. This is how the challenge card activates.

You can skip a part of you just go to Petra once it says u need the map fragments shell give them to you free

I'm probably late and all, but the first quest step didn't drop on completion, has it been changed? Edit: you have to kill the ogre boss.

BTW, I think the rocket launcher kills in the NF are glitched. I made it easily up to 57/60, then killed like 40 enemies before getting my next 3. Also, did you buy the maps from Petra yet??

Aztecross shows that you can lock on as you duck behind cover and as long as the lock on is still red fire from cover and it will bend around cover to target

Here's an additional cheese for those of you out there still in the process of getting Truth. Safe to say the only tedious part is the 3 nightfall strikes with rocket launcher kills. Well, you can skip that totally. All you have to do is acquire the quests from Petra (if its still there), do the 100 hive kills in tangled shore, do the corsair down badge (I got 3 dreaming city patrols instead), and do the Nessus quest last, so get your rocket launcher multi kills, and then the extra step is here, pop your tincture of queensfoil and go ascendent. Head over to the barge area on Watcher's Grave and jump the platforms to loot the ascendent chest. I got another 3 patrols quest (not sure if its RNG but yea). Did my 3 patrols again in dreaming city so that's 4 map fragments done in total and you'll unlock the next quest which is Candy from a Baby (Warden of nothing strike). Did it myself as of 16 August 2019 and skipped nightfall totally. Of course you could do it the legit way but this saves time. So there you go fellow guardians, Cheese!

Nice video but for the fragments im on ps4 and I just bought them from petra.

For the average player doing this quest in 2020 before beyond light, I recommend using false promises or a salad scout rifle as a primary, loaded question or an equivalent arc fusion rifle is your energy, and a machine gun like hammerhead or Xenophage. Use the singe based on your machine gun choice because you can defeat the boss faster with it

I'm not getting the quest and I have ran Menagerie multiple times. I do have the Forsaken annual pass as well. Am I missing something?

Quick note - this weeks nightfall is the corrupted, so load into that solo if you want to get the 60 rocket kills, as well as the 100 hive kills at the same time. Works, and you wont have to use a rocket launcher doing an actual nightfall then.

FYI everyone u don't have to got to the chests at all once u get the quest to decode the map fragments you can go to petra and she will have the fragments on her that u can grab. That's what i did.

i completed the menagerie and i didn’t get the quest starter ..... but in your video at 0:25 if that was the end of your menagerie run then mine looked different mine came to it’s end at where the crowns raid starts

First map fragment doesnt require the bay of drowned wishes ascendant chest. Any ascendant chest in the dreaming city will work. There are 10 per week go for whichever is closest.

Side note as Petra has the map fragments go and collect the cistern chest last and you can repeat the fragment without having to do them all

So going by the general rule of 10 for Datto. 2 * 10 = 20 hours to get Truth. Got it.

If you're looking this after Shadowkeep launch, for some reason, the map that requires to do the 3 Corsair Down, now it's those, now are normal patrol for some reason.

You have to defeat a specific boss in the menagerie btw I had to do like 7 runs before I got the boss I don't know if this is just for me or for everybody; The boss was the same ogre Datto killed in the beginning of the video.

Accidentally applied for medical school instead. Currently starting my 4th year. Will post update next May

Pro tip if you collect the nessus part of the quest before you do the nightfall it will glitch out and you can re do the last map part again the quest only took 12 mins all up for me
