My boi Immaru really starting to become a homie, I love it. And Savathuuns speech patterns, her calling Eris honey, or saying, a real humdinger is as great as the darkness, not the Witness, saying "Not in the way my man Oryx is mine."
She's the hive god of cunning and lies, it's only natural for her to have such a seductive and almost calming voice at times, because that's how she gets you. She tricks and manipulates, it's her sword logic at least before she separated herself from her worm. Plus they made the right choice of casting Debra Wilson
I remember being a teen in the D1 days, reading the books of sorrow before any of the lore was actually gameplay / not just in the grimoire. Seeing the story of the hive play out is what keeps me hooked to this canon, even if I don’t have time to play anymore.
You could have time if you wanted to. You're just choosing to spend it doing other things. That's something I found out about my own life. I made time for myself and to do things I enjoy.
Same here dude. I thought it was so satisfying that this played out the way it did and literally no one saw that coming. Everybody was underestimating our girl Eris fucking Morn. Myself included and im a huge fan of her.
I’m disappointed, I kinda wanted Eris stay the Hive God of Vengeance permanently, I thought it worked pretty well, she was always obsessed with the Hive, and she could’ve created her own faction of Hive. I like when Savathûn saw Eris and said “It looks good on you, honey.” Savathûn is nothing like Oryx or Xivu, she’s actually fun
Like Dutch said if she had stayed as the hive god of vengeance she would of became an enemy and one I don't think we would of ever beaten considering our guardian is directly tied to her power since everything we kill gives her strength.

Eris revived Savathun and immediately killed her to absorb the power Savathun had, that's how the Hive work, in that moment Eris Morn became the most powerful Hive to ever exist, surpassing Sav, Xivu, and even Oryx. While they dropped the ball on the events after that, reviving Sav and then killing her was extremely important and not a narrative mistake
Okay. Can't even lie. Savathûn's voice actress? She did her job too well. I want MORE! Would like to have seen Savathûn become an ally against the Witness. Just to hear her give sass and chill with the Guardians. She's so much fun to watch and listen to.
Shes got a looot of voice acting res under her belt. Shes in Fallen Order, Gears of War, Call of Duty, Halo, Guild Wars 2, and funnily enough shes also grandma shark from baby shark off the top of my head. Debra Wilson also plays into the memes and likes destiny so she's great lol
Someone wasn’t paying attention. Savathun is literally still alive and vibing, and Xivu is still alive and just as powerful as ever, she just can’t resurrect in her throne world anymore.
Bungie wrote themselves into a corner with the idea of throne worlds and and giving savathun immortality. Now they’ve stripped xivu’s immortality with banishing her from her throne world. Then sav negotiated a deal with the with us so that she could spare herself by giving the vanguard control over her connection too the light. (her ghost) so in return she can be free. It’s actually pretty smart too me. They nocked out two massive story hurdles with one plot idea.

There's a lore entry about this. She does get brought back, but Saint-14 tracks her down and beats her to death repeatedly, having Immaru resurrect her each time.
Oh, do I love some cruel irony turned on OP villains. Such a simple turn around, an easy to notice loophole. And in 3 quick moves, two goddesses are weakened after eons of steady buildup.
Oryx after killing one of the wyrm gods and both his siblings had the power to bring them back from true deaths that occurred within their ascendant realms. I’m sorry Ikora, BUT YOUR WRONG, oryx was the strongest hive to ever live. The tablets of ruin do a pretty good job of showcasing this.
Savathun stole oryx and crotas tithes from their bodies, so eris enjoyed a hive turduckin from all of that. And 2 of the bosses we kill in the season had stored tithes for a millenia as they had never been killed before so yes oryx was the strongest. But his power was taken by the witch queen.
@@viperpeps7447 logically speaking we stole oryx’s tithes when we killed him. That’s how the sword logic works. The only loophole to this, is that because we as a paracausal god are eris (who’s weaker)’s servant. She is simply feeding off of OUR POWER WITHIN THE SWORD LOGIC. Hence why she needs the guardian that killed all those people to become said powerful. We slew the most powerful hive ever, and now eris is feeding off the power we took to become the most powerful hive ever. But oryx TOOK IT, (taken king). Eris has it being handed to her, that’s not how the darkness or the hive technically operate. Only the light gives, the darkness can only take. That’s why she said she “must take from us” but we’re giving willingly because we aren’t hive and we can. She’s just accepting, which isn’t disallowed.
if she somehow gets access to her throne world again which is practically impossible unless she somehow communicates with savathun (who is currently in her own throneworld) it would not only be a disaster story and explanation wise but it would defeat the entire purpose of TWQ story and this entire season
Still would have been cooler to keep eris like this ascending to become a new hive god with us as her avatar/champion or better yet she raises her thralls into her own faction and we start seeing hive ships in orbit defending the last city
The Book of dark future would come to reality if Eris stayed like that, and she would be the herald of the Darkness. Proving that the hive logic is flawed is way stronger than a god could ever be tbh, since words come to power with the sword logic and Eris own logic was superior that day
It great that Eris became the most powerful hive, I'm all for it. But I think that Savathun being killed off like that was kinda lack-luster. Mainly because of how she was a great antagonist IMO.
Eris was getting it because she performed a hive ritual to specifically absorb power of defeated enemies using the sword logic and tithes. We tithed to Eris so that she could absorb our kills and get stronger to become a hive god. We didn’t get Savathuns power when we defeated her because we didn’t perform the hive ritual to become a hive god. Her power was only absorbed by Eris because of the ritual
Eris used a simple light attack from a sunset weapon to kill this bullet sponge of a boss in the campaign. I call bs… especially considering that wind up was comically slow. Savathun could have just backed up lol.
This was part of savathuns plan to weaken xivu. And we fought savathun in her throne world which made her way stronger, hence why eris banished xivu arath from her throne world in this cutscene, making her mortal
Afterwards you go to helm and ikora says immaru revived her again and savathun left but immaru stays with us so we can crush him if we don't trust her or something like that
Nah she came back again, then Saint killed her, then she came back again, then Saint killed her, then she came back again, then Saint killed her, they whiled away several hours like that till he was satisfied. But she's still about.
Imagine if this cutscene wasn’t half-assed. Imagine that Eris got a new god form for a few seconds that actually showed how powerful she was in that moment. Imagine if we saw Savathun resurrect again and actually make the bargain instead of in game text.
Wait did they really do the plot twist of ressurecting savathun just to kill her off again in some season storyline that won't be playable in a couple months.....yeah no I remember why I quit destiny
Savathun is a Lightbearer, obviously she isn't dead for good... Eris did that so she could be strong enough to banish Xivu Arath from her Throne World. Now that Xivu isn't basically immortal, she has to be extremely careful with her moves
(sigh) Always teetering in the edge of greatness, and always just coming up short. I like they’re interaction here but this could (should) have been so much more.
I thought it was ok. Eris dont want to be the hive godmother. She just wanted revenge. And she finally has it. Crota dead, oryx dead, savathun bascially noped out and xivu got fucked over. Now caitail will be please that xivu is now killable
