When Jesus phisically walked this earth, people spoke in the same way about him (Jesus), calling him false, making claims similar to what is being said, and has been said about Brian Tamaki. I don't go to any of the Destiny churches. I am a believer in Jesus Christ, and I attend a Penticostal church in Australia. I ride a Harley and have an awesome house. No one seems to be too worried about that facet of my life. If I too was as high profile as Bishop Tamaki, would I also be subjected to that?

Maybe you need to define the term "cult".. a cult is where the teachings contradict the doctrine.. he reckons Jesus isn't the son of mary.. or that jesus didnt really rise from the dead.. that is contradictory to Christianity.. hence.. "cult"

Destiny church has strayed from biblical doctrine and is not aligned with the christian churches of today. Research mate.

Rethink? No, not really. I doubt the place will ever be built, and it's too close to towns and so on for a Jonestown scenario to happen. Tamaki is also nowhere near clever or insane enough to pull it off. I HOPE so, anyway.

That definition is true as far as it goes, but it's not useful as it's defined in terms of Christianity. Which itself could be called a cult on the basis of what a cult is....a group or sect that is dominated by the unchallenged charismatic presence and/or teachings of a living or deceased leader. Jesus of Nazareth in that context was a cult leader, and indeed he was viewed as one at the time he was doing his thing in Judea. Destiny's a cult AND a scam, I guess, so I stand corrected.
I was a member of destiny church. Destiny church would say that I took myself out of their church but I say no The Lord did. Although the Lord took me out of Bishops church I sincerely donot hold any kind of grudge against Bishop. He does alot of great things to help our maori people and I greatly admire him for this. Well said Bishop!! I believe hes doing an awesome job. Lives are being saved and people a coming to know Jesus. A lot of people disagree about the way he runs his ministry but hes also done a lot of good for the people of Aotearoa. Thousands of people have come to know Christ through his Ministry. That is the most important thing. So lets not judge him but let God be the judge. JaHBlesS!!
