I play a Magic: the Gathering Online Legacy league with BG Pox! This Golgari Pox decklist ultimately seeks to win the game with Urza's Saga, but it will utilize Wasteland, Smallpox Thoughtseize, Hymn to Tourach, and every other mono black tool under the sun to get there. Life from the Loam and Grist the Hunger Tide are the only green cards here. Otherwise expect powerful mono black tools like Liliana of the Veil to carry games. Can this deck compete in the post Wilds of Eldraine (WOE) world? Yes!

What's loamcloudpox? I've been trying to brew modern pox for a while...haven't actually tried out a list yet, although I'm gonna proxy up one and play it pretty soon, but I think my manabase is way too ambitious... It turns out it's hard to fit Flagstones of Trokair, Wrenn and Six, and Smallpox in the same deck...

Around 19:16 is orcish bowmasters targeting Boo in response to Minsc and Boo activation not an option? EDIT: you explained later. I guess you would be saving 4 life for the turn but not pinging Minsc

I always see your thumbnail and a couple seconds of the opener and think "oh shit, he's playing modern" Then I jump to the gameplay and for a few draws I'm still under that belief. Keep up the good modern videos.

This makes me pine for Demonic Hordes 😈 Feel you need some sort of tool against decks even more incremental/durdly than you, i.e. Beanstalk. Just a single copy because you'll have plenty of time. Something that can be forced out and blow open the match. Maybe a Paradox Zone?

I think I prefer the crop rotation versions of Loam Pox. The utility you get in your lands seems more valueable than the Bowmasters and less contradicting with Smallpox. That being said you could probably just throw in some utility lands without crop rotation and discard them and then return with Loam at need. At the very least I'd put in a Bojuka Bog and a Restless Cottage.

i spoted 2 lies right at the start ! he 5/0 ed a league with OG 3 black dots actual real pox (nice video btw). and second he has the greatest wincon of all time, the enemy can conced at any point.

When i built this for modern, I built it as an attrition style deck, But i think we should play 1-2 copies of of the rack. Its really good in this style of deck.

I think the rack is win-more, unfortunately: doing a bit of random early-game damage won't win you the game, and it only kills the opponent when your opponent has been so crippled that they can't play the spells from their hand for several turns. But if your opponent can't play spells for several turns, you can also just play a Grist, make an army and kill them.

i dont understand not taking out the token with the bow masters, it gave them the initiative/dungeon seemed like a misplay, plus it would get rid of the planeswalker the next turn if they wanted to -2 to get another, then follow up with lili to take out the token. also assasins trophy seems out of place in a deck where your trying to pseudo control their land amount

I miss this old card design of cards that you have to make work via good deck building instead of giving every card an etb and die trigger, all with "may" so you don't have to look at synergies or board state and can just slam all your broken rares and mythics into the same deck.

The only way to win, is to make your oppoent so angry they flip the table. Hence, i play pox, OR UW control. always. (my email address includes "counter spell")

Huge misplay at 19:39, you could have in response pinged the hampter, killing it before it got the counters and possibly buying you another turn. I know you said you didn't think you should have done that, but eeeeh.

Tbh I don't really get why you not playing bloodghast? It looks so much better as you don't care if you either dredge it and landfall happens often. Also I really don't like Assasin's Trophy as this basically goes opposite to our gameplan.. But I am a n00b and I love watching your videos and POX is my favourite archetype that I loved since I first heard of it over 10 years ago.

A 2/1 creature just isn't cutting it in combat anymore in Legacy. Large bodies like Endurance are common even in control decks at this point.

@@ThrabenUniversity Thanks for answer. I still think loam + bloodghast is better to have as main board and I would side bowmasters. Thing is you don't cry if you dredge them with loam and you are even happy - it's some damage to keep oponent on his feet. I would have to think if there is better card like this. Cat + oven combo is not doing much in legacy without proper deck.
